Contemporary American right-wing extremism using the example of the Proud Boys with a focus on the ideology of violence

This thesis examines contemporary American extremism, using the example of the far-right, all-male organization Proud Boys, whose members refer to themselves as "Western chauvinists." Thesis analyzes the group in terms of its history, organization, and hierarchy. Paying special attention to the group's ideology, the thesis aims to place the group in the larger context of American society and to name the factors that influenced the group's direction in terms of its ideological grounding in violence. In this thesis, I will defend the thesis that violence plays a privileged role that co-creates the ideology of the group as a whole. The thesis is designed to provide an answer to the question "what role does violence play in the Proud Boys?" Through an in-depth qualitative content analysis, this thesis discusses the relationship between violence and the ideology of the Proud Boys and explains how violence contributes a unifying role. In general, this study contributes to an understanding of both the motivations and behaviors of the Proud Boys group and contributes to the larger discourse on extremism in contemporary America.

The current czech nationalism in extreme right

Aim of the thesis is to describe and analyse the role of nationalism in contemporary Czech extreme right movements. Its author has two fundamental objectives. The first is to evaluate strength and relevance of contemporary Czech nationalism within extreme right movements. The second objective consists in the analysis of nationalism itself, which should reveal the true nature of these organizations and their ideological platform. This thesis presents an overview of Czech extreme right spectrum. It was essential to select movements that mutually differ and therefore represent various manifestations of Czech right extremism. All three platforms can be classified as extreme right movements strongly resonating with Czech nationalism. They see themselves as patriots who defend conservative values and national traditions. Revue of The National Idea represents an attempt to create a sophisticated, intellectual forum providing conditions for ultra-right views and ideas. D.O.S.T. movement acts as a conservative "people's initiative", standing against multiculturalism and the European Union. National identity in France and its role in the policy of Nicolas Sarkozy

Diploma thesis "National identity in France and its role in the politics of Nicolas Sarkozy" deals with national identity as a political instrument used by the former French president Nicolas Sarkozy during his five-year term (2007-2012). The main objective of this work is to prove that the national identity in his discourse served to increase his popularity or to obtain far-right voters and that Nicolas Sarkozy used this policy instrument throughout his mandate despite the fact that he officially turned away from it after a failed public debate on the subject in 2010. As methodological basis for research on the topic and achievement of the objectives "critical discourse analysis" was selected and also "analysis of metaphors" was used as its complement. In the theoretical part of the thesis some of the basic scientific findings that deal with the "nation", "identity" and the development and construction of "national identity" are presented and discussed . Revolta project - new political direction

The bachelor thesis "Project Revolta - new political direction?" analyses the group Revolta.info. This group tries to create a more complex idea, which called the Third way and defines particularly against communism and capitalism. The group tries to prevent their inclusion in right - wing and left - wing political spectrum. The group defines itself also againts the current political system. The main values that Revolta.info recognize are nacionalism and social justice. The group is profiled by their website, where we can find their manifest, historical roots and specific cases of their activities. To their promotion they are using the new kinds of ways in order to distinguish them from other extremist groups. French National Front Network

The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyze the Network of the French National Front and grasp the environment in which the party lives. The network of this French political party is represented by organizations of various types and is expanded through party press. The work examines how the party's associates influence activity within the political party and whether they are beneficiaries of the parties success and its continual development. At first there is the definition of the far right which is complemented by the historical evolution of the term. Following this is a description of far-right groups influencing the emergence of the National Front in 1972. These groups can be observed with some similarities in the organizational structure of the groups within the National front. Therefore it is important to describe the current organizational structure of the party so it can be understood how the party is presently managed. The Elements Influencing the Degree of the Right-Wing Extremism in the Czech Republic after 1989

Diploma thesis "The Elements Influencing the Degree of the Right-Wing Extremism in the Czech Republic after 1989" deals both with the general right-wing extremism, with its historical development and his particular ideologies, and concretely with the situation in the Czech Republic after the Velvet Revolution and with his reasons, as well, and with it related solutions, how the right-wing extremism utmost to eliminate. It is interesting and edifying to get knowledge of, how in the period of modernizing, also especially in the nineteenth century, the western society commuted itself and what impacts this epoch had upon the human thinking and self-awaking. What trains of thought this emancipation ended in and what influence this all had upon the world history. Starting with the nationalism, that had been the cause of the fascism and consequently of the Nazism, and ending with the neofascism and neo-Nazism. After the year 1989 all these phenomenons had naturally marked impact upon the formation of the modern Czech extreme right, as well. The current development of the extreme right and anti-immigration movement in the Czech Republic.

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of the current extreme right parties and the anti- immigration movements. The thesis is diveded into two parts. The first one desribes important theoretical terms dealing with the fundamental pillars of the extreme right and anti-Islamist policy, which accompanies the monothematic anti-immigration movements. The second one is devoted to specific subjects of extreme right and anti-immigration scene in Czech Republic. Namely the Narodni demokracie, Delnicka strana socialni spravedlnosti, Czech Defence League, Islam v CR nechceme with all its successors and Usvit narodni koalice. The comparison of individual case studies based on the theoretical knowledge helps to answer the question wether or not the anti-immigration movements with its programs and activities belongs to extreme right. Additional information is provided through an analysis of mutual withdrawals and a list of possible reasons for non-co-operation. Generations of identity: Concept of identitarianism in Czech far-right

The aim of this thesis is to analyse Czech based extreme right group Generation identity in the context of Czech extreme right political scene. This group has been active in Czech republic since 2013. Activitiy of this group is still not well researched and described and this fact is the main reason to choose this topic. This work aspires to describe the group, explore its source, dynamics, explian how it functions and identify how they present themselve to the general public. Additionally the concept of identitarianism explored within extreme right movements in Czech Republic. The work deals with main ideas on which the movement bases its view. Further examines which are key topics the movement deals with and what stance they take on these crucial topics. Also symbolism is another aspect the group uses to identify itself. Relationtiop with other affiliates of Generation identity abroad are described briefly. In theoretical part concepts (notions) related to extreme right groups were discussed and theoretical framework was presented. Classification of extremism based on relevant sources with special emphasis on right wing extremism was performed. Based on theoretical framework Generation identiy was examined in the context of extreme right and Czech extreme movements in general.
