A CPU Emulator for Course of Assembly Languages
Charvát, Lukáš ; Samek, Jan (referee) ; Smrčka, Aleš (advisor)
The master thesis discusses the design of an emulator of a CPU architecture instruction set aimed at assembly languages course. While most of nowadays emulators are architecture specific, the emulator proposed in master thesis aims at education and better understanding of assembly languages. The emulator is not limited to a single CPU, but it easily allows defining a purpose-specific architecture and instruction set in order to perform operations upon it and to display its current state.
Enhancement of Decompilation by Using Dynamic Code Analysis
Končický, Jaromír ; Zemek, Petr (referee) ; Ďurfina, Lukáš (advisor)
As a part of the Lissom project, a retargetable decompiler is being developed. Its main purpose is to decompile programs for a particular microprocessor architecture into a high-level programming language. In present, methods of dynamic code analysis are not used during decompilation. However, we can significantly improve the decompilation results by using these methods. Design of dynamic-analysis methods is the main task of this thesis. In this thesis, reverse engineering and Lissom decompiler are described. Furthermore, general dynamic analysis methods, such as instrumentation and emulation, are described. The information we can obtain by using dynamic analysis and its usage during decompilation is proposed.
Design of laborotory high-speed system usage
Benda, Ondřej ; Polívka, Michal (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
This thesis deals with high-speed communication equipment based on Cisco 2821. Includes description of facilities, physical and logical diagrams, instructions for basic orientation in the operating system Cisco IOS, and the procedure for the preparation of the workplace. Further in this document, there are three laboratory task on the topic of MPLS IP, Traffic engineering with MPLS and Circuit emulation over IP. Each task includes introduction, instructions for the elaboration, the question of the task, desired outcome and brief guide for teachers.
Low-power emulators of higher-order elements
Teska, Tomáš ; Brzobohatý, Jaromír (referee) ; Biolek, Dalibor (advisor)
The thesis deals with emulating higher-order elements using the transformation mutators, which were described by Leon Chua in 1971. The procedure of designing mutators from their mathematical description to the synthesis of concrete electrical circuits is described. The circuit solutions are based on the utilization of advanced circuit principles in order to achieve optimal circuit performance. Mutators are implemented as a set of eight incremental modules. Via their cascade connection, it is possible to emulate arbitrary elements from the periodical table of higher-order elements. The proposed solutions are tested by means of computer simulations and also verified by measurements.
Emulator of 3.5" diskette drive using RS232 and SD memory card
Sedláček, David ; Hanák, Pavel (referee) ; Pavelka, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of the 3,5" floppy drive emulator with ATMEGA microprocessor unit. The emulator has been designed according to the principles of designing electronic devices, there is also object-control application and firmware for a microcontroller, which supports MFM coding. The thesis also lists all the formats of data stored or transmitted along with some flowcharts.
Game instruments localization
Černý, Jakub ; Petyovský, Petr (referee) ; Janáková, Ilona (advisor)
This thesis deal with problem of object detection. Object may be of different shapes and colors. The aim of this thesis is to determine the location, direction of movement, angle and proximity.
Authenticity and Memory
Strnad, Matěj ; VOJTĚCHOVSKÝ, Miloš (advisor) ; POSPISZYL, Tomáš (referee)
The bachelor's thesis "Authenticity and Memory" is concerned with the changing notion of "authenticity" in contemporary memory institutions. Based on an exploration of expert texts, it aims to map the occurrence of the term, apparently a key one in the field of conservation and preservation. The thesis briefly addresses the fields of care for historical monuments, traditional record archives, audiovisual archives and also museum management. The practice of memorial institutions and their understanding of the term "authenticity" are analyzed with regard to the issues of authorities, digitization of collections and ethical grounds on which these institutions base their activities. A special emphasis is put on the area of preservation of media art. The thesis further examines authenticity in the field of media art from the point of view of it's "performativity", while at the same time taking into account the possibility to apply the concept of performativity to other art forms.
Analysis of current archiving problems and approach to their solutions
Klimko, Jozef ; Šedivá, Zuzana (advisor) ; Benáčanová, Helena (referee)
The final thesis is dealing with long-term preservation of document and related issues with it. At the beginning of the thesis are defined terms such as paper and digital document and lifecycle it has to go through. Next parts are devoted to selected standards and recommendations, metadata, the most widely used approaches in this area, which are migration and emulation, most used technologies and the last part of this section is dedicated to security meters. The survey deals with still active projects which start at the beginning of last year. These projects show new trends and possibilities in this area. From twelve project were selected four interesting of them (ARCOMEM, ENSURE, TIMBUS, SCAPE) which are subsequently described from different perspectives, compared and evaluated.
Virtualization in IS/ICT
Naiman, Michal ; Gála, Libor (advisor) ; Kašpar, Jaromír (referee)
The goal of the thesis is to examine and assess actual portfolio of products on the market for server visualization and to compare performance of individual products with performance of the physical machine. The research and the assessment of the actual portfolio will be carried out with the focus on current trends in the area of server virtualization, reasons for realization, and important aspects for their successful implementation. The comparison will be carried out in areas of supported platforms, hardware emulation spectra, hardware limitations, licensing and prices. Further it will be performed comparison in the form of benchmark performance in areas of CPU, RAM, hard-drive throughput, and network throughput of most commonly used products for server virtualization.
A Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) for a Manager's Work
Novotný, Lukáš ; Pokorný, Pavel (advisor) ; Přibil, Jiří (referee)
The goal of this work is to determine what role play PDA for manager, how managers typically use the PDA and how it can facilitate the daily operations. The work includes comparison of the financial (purchase and additional investment) and technological performance with the currently available technologies from the field related equipment for personal use - a notebook, mobile phone, etc. and the possibilities how can PDA significantly facilitate the manager's daily communication with the whole world. The result of the practical part is a program for PDA emulation in the Windows operating system for desktop computers as well as an overview of the technical parameters, including the financial performance of the purchase of PDA in the context of other IT technologies.
