The Flood Motive in the Literature of Ancient Mesopotamia
Koubková, Evelyne ; Čech, Pavel (advisor) ; Antalík, Dalibor (referee)
The presented paper deals with the flood motive in the literature of ancient Mesopotamia from the 2nd mil. BC until the 2nd cent. BC as it appears repeatedly in a variety of texts in this period. Apart from the varied versions of the mythical flood narrative I will examine the king lists, especially the Sumerian king list in which the flood appears, and sources about antediluvian kings. In a separate chapter I will focus on the tradition of the sages (apkallu) who are sometimes situated before the flood. The common feature of all the treated sources seems to be that the flood is a watershed. Its importance stems not from the dividing of qualitatively distinct periods of time but from the possibility to get over the boundary. According to the anthropological theory of antistructure I will try to explain that the flood is a breakthough of chaos which can strengthen the order. I will examine god Ea, too, as he is intrinsically bound to the flood and I will show his position in pantheon as analogical to the role of the flood.
Transformace z OCL do SQL
Sobotka, Petr ; Richta, Karel (advisor) ; Kopecký, Michal (referee)
The aim of this Master Thesis named Transformation from OCL into SQL is to explore possibilities of enhancing Enterprise Architect by the ability of generating SQL code that implements OCL constraints of a Platform Independent Model, and to create a working prototype that demonstrates this capability. The thesis contains a brief introduction to the problem of Model Driven Architecture, why it would be useful to implement the specified constraints directly in the database, a description of the interaction with Enterprise Architect along with analysing how to get the needed data, the way OCL can be mapped onto SQL, and finally it describes the implementation of the OCLtoSQL plugin from its analysis and chosen architecture to its documentation.
Transformation of Trading Strategies in the MetaLang Language on Parallel Codes Accelerated by a Supercomputer
Halfar, Vítězslav ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Jaroš, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to design and implement a software - MetaTester, which deals with testing and optimizing of the automated trading systems made for platform MetaTrader 4. This system handles performance problems of the most widespread business platform in the world, used to trade in the biggest world market - Forex, with the parallelization of processes and IT potential of supercomputers. The thesis describes the architecture of the system, solving problems, the implementation of sectional parts and special techniques to provide the highest computing performance. At the end of the thesis, there are summarized achievements of the platforms MetaTrader and MetaTester.
The GPU-Based Acceleration of the Genetic Algorithm
Pospíchal, Petr ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Jaroš, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis represents master's thesis focused on acceleration of Genetic algorithms using GPU. First chapter deeply analyses Genetic algorithms and corresponding topics like population, chromosome, crossover, mutation and selection. Next part of the thesis shows GPU abilities for unified computing using both DirectX/OpenGL with Cg and specialized GPGPU libraries like CUDA. The fourth chapter focuses on design of GPU implementation using CUDA, coarse-grained and fine-grained GAs are discussed, and completed by sorting and random number generation task accelerated by GPU. Next chapter covers implementation details -- migration, crossover and selection schemes mapped on CUDA software model. All GA elements and quality of GPU results are described in the last chapter.
Making a trading strategy in the currency markets.
Šalovský, Vojtěch ; Brixí, Radim (advisor) ; Veber, Jaromír (referee)
This work focuses on the currency markets (forex) and especially programming language MetaQuotes Language 4 (MQL4), which is used on the platform MetaTrader 4 (MT4 ) for creating automated trading strategies. The aim of this work was to demonstrate that it is possible in the currency markets to achieve long-term gains with relatively little capital risk. The entire process of automated currency strategy from the initial idea to the final solution was implemented on the most widely used forex trading platform - MT4 . To meet the objective the strategy was programmed in MQL4 language inspired by the so-called triple screen method. Strategy was further tested on historical data using the backtesting. It has been shown that by using proper methods and procedures can create an automated trading strategy that in the time period from 1st Junuary 2012 to 31th December 2013 achieved the annual profit 25.44 % with a maximum drawdown of 15.75 % on the portfolio which included these currency pairs: EUR/JPY, USD/JPY, GBP/JPY, GBP/ USD AUD/USD.
Online trading using automated trading systems
Polák, Tomáš ; Palovský, Radomír (advisor) ; Sova, Martin (referee)
This work deals with the online automated trading systems in the Forex. In the theoretical section are explained basic concepts necessary for understanding of the international currency market and the basic tools used by professionals to analyze the behavior of prices. In the practical part, author construct two profitable automated systems based on different approaches according to generally accepted standards and prove that it is possible on the basis of simple-blade business model to program a robot to safely and regularly evaluates the financial resources. The results will be compared with the performance of a standard open source AOS.
Searching for the Role of Germany in Eurozone Crisis
Krsek, Tomáš ; Němcová, Ingeborg (advisor) ; Hnát, Pavel (referee)
In my graduation theses I deal with the eurozone crisis. This crisis can be seen in relation to the causes of it, as a result of many factors of varying importance - the global financial and economic crisis, the State lavishness, the construction of EMU, etc. Eurozone crisis can however be also seen in the inability of states to agree on the future appearance of the eurozone. In the first two chapters I analyze the first mentioned approach, namely financial and debt crisis with regard to their expensiveness. In detail I attend to interconnection of banking and debt crisis and the role of the ECB. In the second part I come to the principal point of my work, another approach to the crisis, namely the attitude of Germany to address problems of EMU. Germany therefore, that as the largest economy of EMU it forms it the most, but also carries the largest share of costs. I will analyze both the priorities of Germany, and his approach to promoted measures from the fiscal compact to Eurobonds. Eventually, through an analysis of the attitudes of actors in Germany - the German Government, the political opposition, the constitutional court, the Bundesbank, the German academics, public opinion - I come to a conclusion that the position of Germany is divided, however, at least for political representation I can not yet speak of fundamental contradictions. But it seems that the German population begins to differ in this way from their political representatives. The future will show us how serious this discrepancy will be and what results will it bring.
