Creation of water habitats database on spoil banks in Mostecko region
Macková, Klára ; Solský, Milič (advisor) ; Gdulová, Kateřina (referee)
Post-mining sites may pose a suitable environment for many rare and endagered species, amphibians are not an exception. Population size of the model species named agile frog (Rana dalmatina) has been observed already for eight years on more than 900 water surfaces of four heaps in the Most region. The observation is based on counting nests in the spring season. Annually are the results of the counting recorded together with charasteristics of observed water surfaces. Especially noted are their expance, deepness, slope of the shores, pH, conductivity, share of aquatic vegetation etc, as well as fotodocumetations and GPS locations. In similar studies where greater number of sites is repeatedly visited, there could be a problem with the reliability of tracing exact places. For the orientation in space is usually used orthophoto map and GPS navigation with dot layer of individual sites. Errors can occur because of the large number of frequent locations, close situated locations, confusing terrain and their own error of GPS devices. There was thus to inaccuracies in the positioning of individual locations, which resulted in a poor record of each habitat. Appropriate procedure to refine the results of field research, was to create a database containing photos of the previous year and point attributes of the area and transfer to GPX format so that it can be displayed directly in the ground used by GPS devices. For this purpose was used ArcGIS geo-information system, Office software package from Microsoft and software Notepad ++. This work consists of three main parts: a literature review, methodology and attachments. As an attachment there is a detailed procedure how to uploads attributes and points photos to GPS device.
Comparison of commonly used SQL and NoSQL data storages
Čečil, Petr ; Nečaský, Martin (advisor) ; Holubová, Irena (referee)
Data storing is today very important topic. Because of Web 2.0 and software-as-a-service applications there is growing need for scalability and new types of data stores. The aim of this thesis is to help understand competing SQL and NoSQL data stores and their target use cases. Author mapped last trends in data storing and application architecture and tried to find how concrete data stores address them. There is also experimental part with benchmark and simple application that demonstrate data store's connectors and their speed.

Bendová, Vladimíra ; Bratková, Eva (advisor) ; Římanová, Radka (referee)
The purpose of the thesis is to search out, analyse and evaluate an open access and commercial electronic information resources in educational theories available on WWW. First and sekond part determinates topic of education, describes his development, problems, nomenclature, experimental method and information support. The objective of the thesis is to analyse and evaluate selected bibliographic and full-text databases, digital libraries, portals, subject gateways and catalogs. Online services are especially emphasized. Analyses are elaboration in the Czech education theory context. Final summary evaluates results of analysis.

Modular and Database Cinema
Chytilová, Marie ; Fišerová, Michaela (advisor) ; Řehořová, Irena (referee)
In this thesis, I present modular and database cinema characterized by nonlinear story and complex structure. I give examples of modular and database cinema, provide different approaches regarding movies with nonlinear narrative and mention basic principles of classical cinema to show the difference. I am taking a closer look at these films and doing a comparison. Modular cinema needs an audience which actively participates in giving a meaning to the particular film. This active audience can be equated to the new media user which can be characterized not only as a recipient of new media products but also as a creator, co-author and explorer. That is why I am focusing on new media from the point of their users, showing the changes in this media-user relation and summarizing what is new about new media. Database cinema reflects a database form which became a necessary part of new media as well as of our daily lives. When analyzing characteristics of new media and complex structure cinema I suggest a potential relation between new media and modular and database cinema from the point of their users.
Copyright protection of databases
Hájková, Martina ; Dobřichovský, Tomáš (advisor) ; Císařová, Zuzana (referee)
The topic of this diploma thesis is copyright protection of databases. The aim of the thesis is to describe and introduce databases and their legal protection due to their role as essential tools for the location of required information. The thesis contains analysis of legislation in European Union and the Czech Republic and includes brief analysis of legislation in Finland. The thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter deals with the term database, classification of databases and illustrates basic foundations for database protection. The second chapter is divided into two subchapters and characterises the legal protection of databases in European Union. The first subchapter is concerned with the legislation process and adoption of the directive on the legal protection of databases starting with the Green Paper in 1988 and ending with adoption of the directive in 1996. The second subchapter analyses this directive in more detail, describes the main terms and institutes and explores the two-tier system of legal protection of databases introduced by this directive. The third chapter presents legislation in Finland with regard to the exchange studies of the author of the thesis and outlines the catalogue rule as a traditional element of Scandinavian law. The fourth chapter is divided into...
Roads and paths in geographical databases of Czech Republic - analysis of their existence and geometric accuracy, the new proposal of classification
Zub, Daniel ; Šára, Pavel (advisor) ; Jaroš, Jakub (referee)
Roads and paths in geographical databases of Czech republic - analysis of their existence and geometric accuracy, the new proposal of classification Abstract The fundamental objective of this bachelor thesis was to assess the network of roads and paths in geographic databases ZABAGED, DMÚ 25, ÚHÚL, SHOCart and maps for orienteering. The analysis of roads and paths was based on the geometric accuracy and the existence in databases due to the targeted forest road network in a limited forested land. The measurement was carried out the tourist receiver GPS for fieldwork. This bachelor thesis is divided into three parts. Firstly the classification of road network databases are compared and the basics of their geometric precision are given. The second part is dedicated to the principle of measuring GPS and errors that might occur. The calculate the accuracy of the receiver of unfavorable conditions when the measurement is influenced by many aspects is included too. The third part deals with the actual comparison of databases focused road network. The main output is a detailed map of the area at a scale of 1: 10 000 measured with a network of roads and paths. Keywords: forest road, path, geographic databases of Czech republic, classification of forest road network, Global Positioning System
The Legal Protection of Databases
Kohutová, Radka ; Holcová, Irena (advisor) ; Křesťanová, Veronika (referee)
What is the value of information? This is the crucial question that arises in relation to the legal protection of databases. The rise of new media created a brand new world that we labelled the information society in which the information is one of the most valuable assets. The power of digitalization came hand in hand with this rapid transformation and has offered us an almost indefinite amount of storage space and permitted us the dramatic increase of speed for the transfer of data and information, while, consequently making violation and infringing of intellectual property rights simpler than ever before. The form of a database has been transformed and has become increasingly important as a way of organizing data and information in the age of information society. This State Doctoral Thesis called The Legal Protection of Databases aims to present the comparative analysis of database protection in three countries-namely the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the United States of America. The choice of countries allows covering different approaches to the legal protection of databases of two biggest competitors on the world database market-the United States of America and the EU, and to present the aspects of copyrights and sui generis protection....
