Brabcová, Eliška ; Žalmanová, Petra (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor) ; Matějka, Libor (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis follows on from the courses “Studio creation AG 032” and “Complex project AG 036”. The main theme of the bachelor's thesis is the design of a residential building on the outskirts of the city Brno. The corner plot is situated on the very edge of the Líšeň district, near to the Mariánské údolí valley. The building is located in the northern part of the plot, in the southern part there is a garden. The main entrance to the plot is from Ondráčkova Street. The entrance to the underground garages is from the side road. A significant element of the building's concept is an exterior staircase. The staircase is used not only as a vertical communication, but also as a design element of the facade. The staircase is situated on the northern facade of the building. Considering cardinal directions, north facing orientation of the staircase is ideal. The floor plan of the building is regular, rectangular in shape. The building is not divided in any way, only in certain places the material is appropriately removed in order to create loggias. Each apartment has its own loggia, except for the “1+KK” (one bedroom apartment with kitchenette) on the 2nd floor. Each apartment on the ground floor has a secured terrace, which is accessible from the living room. It is a four-storey residential building. The upper floors are used for living, there is a total of 6 housing units of various sizes, including one duplex. The basement is used to access the house – collective garage, cellar, utility room and cleaning room.

The subject of the diploma thesis is the design of a new Roman Catholic church with conveniences, which will be located in the city of Brno - Líšeň, in the northwestern part of the cadastral area Líšeň, on a sloping plot, between Horníkova and Molákova streets, near the youth center ("Saleska"). The proposal will also consider the construction of a vicarage, which should be a meeting place for parishioners at various events with the possibility of accommodating the Salesians. The idea is proceeded on the main symbols of the Salesians. The design is based on the idea of a home, a circle, which symbolizes the family atmosphere. It is derived from three pillars. The sense, the religion and the kindness, standing on a triangular background that serve as points to create a community bounded by circles. This fellowship is defined by three circular segments in the form of reinforced concrete framework structures, each of them represents one of the divine persons of the Holy Trinity. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The gaps among the structures serve for such an illumination, which does not distract the attention from the church to the outside environment and preserves the peace and the spirituality in the interior.

The design consists of two separate buildings, namely the Church of the sending of the Holy Spirit and the parish building. These buildings are composed of three masses, including a church with two gable roofs and a facade that is primarily covered with white plaster, a parish building with a gable roof and a facade of wood and a bell tower which consists of 3 bells which are connected to reinforced concrete columns. The top of the church will be the highest element, the buildings will have two floors above ground and one underground floor in the entrance part of the church.
