The Correspondence by the Chotek Family to Alfons Clary-Aldringen (1904-1943). On the Research on the History of German Culture and Civilization in Bohemia

The study deals with the main cultural and social aspects of German population's lifestyle in Bohemia in the first half of the 20th century. The basis for the research is correspondence written in German which was kept between count Alfons Clary-Aldringen and the noble family Chotek from 1904 to 1943. The correspondence particularly shows the quality of relationship between the correspondents, their social life, family problems as well as the impact of the political events in Bohemia on their lives. Except for the analysis of the correspondence including the language and cultural-historical section, an explanation of the discrepancy between the Germans and the Czechs in Bohemia and introduction of the correspondents and their families is included. The results of the analysis confirm the importance and uniqueness of letters as a source of information. Keywords history, german language, culture and civilization, correspondence, Bohemia

Rural section of the Bohemia bewspapers up to 1850s

The bachelor thesis "Rural section of the Bohemia newspapers up to 1850s" analyses the thematic content and news frequency from the countryside and places that the German written newspapers Bohemia published during the introduced period. In the beginning the thesis describes the historical, cultural and political connection in the Czech countries, shows the bourgeoisie life and its customs and social changes. It introduces the media area of this period. It focuses closely on progress of the Bohemia newspapers, its content, interest and activity. It focuses on the rural section of Bohemia, which started to appear in a separate section from the year 1837. The quantitative analysis of the rural section describes the gradual frequency and the changes of the medial contents depending on the political and social situation.

Catholic Reformation in the Prague Towns after the Battle of White Mountain. Prague's New Town in a context of the process of the catholic confessionalisation Abstract Olga Fejtová This thesis' methodological ground is a conception of both clerical and secular politics of recatholisation in a relation to Prague's New Town within the Post-White-Mountain period as part of a process of confessionalisation, i. e catholic confessialisation, within the paradigm that was introduced into European historiography in 1980s . The recatholisation within Bohemian lands in relationship to the paradigm of confessionalisation invokes a strategy of state and clerical power. Its enforcement and exercise in political practice were illustrated by normative materials that represented attendant signs of a development of the catholic confessionalisation. The target of this thesis is firstly to describe the progress of politics concerning recatholisation in a relationship to one of Prague's towns by using contemporary decrees of both secular and clerical origin. Furthermore, it shall investigate issues echoing within and from life of the New-Prague-Town's society of the 17th century. This within both public and private spheres of burgess' life. Analysis of chemical composition of prehistoric artifacts of copper and copper alloys in Czech lands

This work deals with chemical composition analysis of prehistoric artifacts of copper and copper alloys in Czech lands. It purvey listing of individual methods of natural sciences research together with their capabilities and limitations. Development and current state of chemical compostition analysis is described in this work. Focus of this work is a database of results of chemical composition analysis from Czech and foreign laboratories. Data file in the database is evaluated in terms of geography, chronology and type of artifacts.

The "Ars rhetorica" and "Ars combinatoria" by a Jesuit Preacher Caspar Knittel

The first part of the contribution introduces comparison of the classical rhetoric as taught and employed by the Province of Bohemia of the Society of Jesus. The other part brings a closer look at university sermons by a professor of the Prague university P. Caspar Knittel SJ, which are typical examples of conceptual writing at the break of 18th century and, due to the lecturer's opinion, one of the peaks of conceptism in the Czech lands.

Effect of high temperatures and different water regimes on selected winter wheat varieties above-ground biomass production

The aim of this study was to assess the effect of high temperatures and soil water scarcity during anthesis on the above-ground biomass allocation of the two winter wheat varieties (Bohemia and Pannonia). The six growth chambers were used to simulate heat stress conditions within following gradient of temperature maxima: 26°C (control chamber), 29, 32, 35, 38 and 41°C. The relative humidity (RH) course and photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) intensity were controlled via protocols. Additionally, drought stressed (Dry) and well-watered (Wet) treatments were established within each growth chamber. The plants were removed from the growth chambers after 14 days and they were left until a full maturity, exposed to ambient weather conditions. The spike productivities of the main spikes and harvest indices (HI) of the main spikes were evaluated for particular treatments within both winter wheat varieties after harvest.

Analýza vlivu lokace kláštera na současnou míru religiozity v Čechách

This bachelor's thesis answers the question, if monastery, which is located on territory of municipalities, affects somehow religiosity of inhabitants. First chapter (Introduction) defines object and hypotheses of thesis. Second chapter is given to processing methods of thesis. Third chapter contains the most important literature used in thesis, also definition of concepts and theoretic outline of the problem. Fourth chapter describes evolution of religion and changes in religiosity in Bohemia. Fifth chapter works with statistics and looks for possible influence in chosen municipalities. Sixth chapter summarizes all the knowledge and proves or disproves set hypotheses. Last chapter finishes the thesis. Thesis also contains statistical table, graphs and maps.
