Reception of Czech games in local and foreign media

Recently, both skilled individuals and large game studios can devote themselves to the development and creation of digital games. In the last decade, the gaming industry has established itself as the most profitable branch of the entertainment industry. Its annual turnover reached 180 billion USD, while the film industry generates annually 100 billion USD less. However, achieving success with your project on a global scale is not an easy challenge in this very competitive environment. Nevertheless, a relatively large number of projects have succeeded in the Czech Republic, regardless of how small a country we are. Five of them, each representing a different game genre, form the basis of the research corpus of this work, the purpose of which is to observe firstly whether the geographical origin of the game is a factor to which foreign game journalists attach a certain importance, and secondly to try to find common characteristics of the observed games, that led to their worldwide success, and to analyze whether it is possible to trace the influence of our shared socio-cultural environment in them. Teaching Foreign Languages at Primary School

The dissertation deals with foreign language teaching methods at the Primary School in the Czech, English and German environment. It includes the summary of the present basic knowledge about the foreign language teaching methods generally both in the Czech, English and German environment. Subsequently there has been presented and analysed the real use of foreign language teaching methods at the Czech Primary School at present. In conclusion there has been drawn further suggestion for a possible appropriate future development of the foreign language teaching methods at the Czech Primary School based on the research too.
Specific cultural units in communicational codes of Czech and American television series

Diploma thesis "Specific cultural units in communicational codes of Czech and American television series" is a structural analysis of two televisional series: Czech Pojišťovna štěstí and American Desperate Houswives. Television series are modern myths that communicate values, belives and rules of certain societies. This thesis tries to approache distinctions in a langue-structure of analysed material. The research is based on findings of structuralism, poststructuralism and cultural studies. The thesis consists of two major parts. First is theoretical summary of the basic thoughts that appeared during historical shift from structuralism to cultural studies. The second part is analysis itself.
Causes and consequences of the death of Wenceslas III, the last king of Přemyslid dynasty

This work deals especially with a question of causes of death of the last king of the dynasty of Czech Přemyslids, Wenceslas III. It deals with the most important milestones of rule of this sovereign, that preceded this act, and could be the reasons for the murder in Olomouc, in this way, ending four centuries of ruling Přemyslite tradition. Attention is also drawn to the character of the young king, to his relationship with Czech, Polish and Hungarian nobility and elite, with his sympathizers and opponents. Next the work points to characters of possible culprits involved in the alleged plot against the king. Subsequently, the work proceeds to the consequences of Olomouc murder. Disputes over the Czech throne, and the subsequent onset of the Luxembourg dynasty. The work is based on the relationship between written sources and the author's thoughts of the current literature. This work creates a space for own interpretation and self-reflection of one of the most important and breakthrough milestone of a history of Czech kingdom, which changed the form of Czech state. That prepared the way for coming of the great sovereign and Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire from Přemyslite bloodline, Charles IV.

The thesis deals with Czech cultural standards and their development in recent 20 years, during the time of economic transformation. After theoretical introduction it presents findings gained by research. The research was conducted in the form of survey (with Czechs) and in the form of personal interviews (with foreigners living in Prague).
Personal finance, investment opportunities and conventions in the CR

We are living in the era of financial uncertainty and high volatility on financial markets. According to some experts, these circumstances will have a significant impact on the investment conventions of Czech investors in the future. Economists are afraid of even stronger conservatism and skepticism on the field of investment tools. The gab between the yield of Czech and American or Australian family portfolio will be most probably deepen thanks to this. My master thesis has the goal to briefly define financial products which are available for Czech investors. Furthermore I also explain reasons of significant differences between the average portfolio of assets and credits of Czech, eastern and western European family.
