Vonková, Kateřina ; Dvořák, Jan (advisor) ; Janoušková, Anežka (referee)
Additional hearing of the succession Abstract The thesis deals with the additional hearing of the succession as an institute of inheritance law, which is not dealt with as a whole in any professional publication. Therefore, the aim of this thesis is to provide the reader with a comprehensive theoretical interpretation of the additional hearing of the succession in one place. The purpose of the thesis is to outline the complexity of the institute it deals with, both from the perspective of the legal regulation used in the additional hearing of the succession and from the perspective of the course of the different types of additional hearing of the succession and the difficulties in terms of its connection to the original succession proceedings and its current independence. The thesis provides a theoretical definition of the concept of the additional hearing of the succession and further demonstrates its nature as well as its characteristic elements, types of the additional hearing of the succession and its course. Beyond the theory, the thesis discusses the specifics that may arise in the course of a additional hearing of the succession. The thesis is divided into five chapters. The first three chapters present the theoretical basis of the thesis and the last two chapters complement the above interpretation...

The presence of the appropriate specific skills of pupils is determined by the method of a questionnaire investigation intended for teachers participating in the research. The second part of the empirical work evaluates the own laboratory measurements of 85 pupils and enables an indicative determination of the percentage representation of...
Dignity and ethics in the designated aspects of nursing applied in care homes for the elderly
HLINŠŤÁKOVÁ, Lucie
This thesis deals with the dignity and ethical aspects in the areas of communication with the elderly; dignified approach towards the clients during the hygienic care; and dignified approach towards the clients when serving meals and drinks in a specific care home with nursing. There were three objectives chosen for the purpose of the qualitative research of this thesis. The first objective focuses on monitoring how the dignity is maintained in communication with the elderly; the second objective focuses on monitoring how the dignity is maintained when providing hygienic care for the elderly; and the final objective focuses on monitoring how the dignity is maintained when providing the nutrition and drink scheme care for the elderly. There were three research questions established to meet the objectives of the qualitative research of this thesis. The first research question: "What elements of dignified communication are used by nurses during communication with the elderly?" The second research question: "What elements of dignified care are used by nurses when providing hygienic care?" The final third question: "What elements of dignified care are used by nurses when providing nutrition care for the elderly?" The thesis consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part defines the basis of dignity and ethics; as well as three other areas, such as the communication with the elderly, hygienic care and appropriate application of nourishment and drinking scheme. Data callected for the empirical part are based on the qualitative research using techniques of covert and overt observation followed by semi-structured interviews. Research respondent group consisted of five nurses previously chosen by the director of the care home with nursing. The research showed that the approach of nurses towards the clients was not always with dignity. The aim of the covert and overt observation was to understand whether the nurses were aware of their behaviour. The outcome of the empirical part show that nurses who did not treat the clients with dignity and ethically, were aware of their behaviour. The output of the diploma thesis is a forthcoming article describing particular issues and findings of the research in this thesis.
Attitudes toward Health and Illness in Muslim World
NOVOTNÁ, Dominika
This master thesis researches the perception of health and illness in the Muslim world. It aims to map out specific viewpoints related to health and disease within this context. The research is guided by four key questions: How do Muslims perceive the value of health?, How do Muslims perceive illness?, What was their views on healthcare provided by the public health system, and what expectations do they have?, What has been their experience with the care they received? Did it meet their expectations? The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on three main areas: transcultural nursing care, Islam, and specific considerations in treatment of Muslim patients. Each area introduces fundamental concepts that are subsequently explored in the research section. Hence, the theoretical part covers the concept of the "rising sun" model, the theory of care, and the importance of understanding cultural nuances. In the second part, the thesis focuses on terms relevant to Islam, including the Prophet Muhammad, the Quran, and the five pillars of Islam. The final section discusses theories related to caring for Muslim patients, emphasizing communication, respect for personal space, attitudes toward health and illness, and unique particularities. The empirical part of the thesis was elaborated through qualitative research using semi-structured interviews. A total of twenty-two questions were posed to six Muslim participants residing in the Czech Republic. These interviews provided valuable data for further exploration. The interviews were recorded, transcribed, and analyzed using a pen-and-paper method. The results of the entire research study were categorized into four main areas, containing a total of fourteen subcategories. These findings provide comprehensive insights into the perception of health and illness in the Muslim world, as well as aspects related to prevention and the public healthcare system. It was proved by the study that the public healthcare system in the Czech Republic is highly regarded by Muslims, who can rely on its services. However, a significant challenge lies in the insufficient cultural competence of healthcare personnel when providing care to patients who adhere to Islam. Based on the collected and analyzed data, educational materials have been developed. These materials aim to enhance the knowledge of healthcare professionals, enabling them to understand the fundamental specifics of caring for Muslim patients. By doing so, healthcare providers can proactively address potential issues, improve the patient experience during their stay in healthcare facilities, and offer valuable support during challenging life situations.

Evaluation of perfusate solution after ex vivo lung perfusion
Dobrovolná, Terezie ; Enghuber, Florian (referee) ; Paštěka, Richard (advisor)
The aim of this master’s thesis is to introduce lung perfusion procedures and determine the parameters that are connected to the state of the lungs after perfusion and during preservation. In the perfusion process and for storing the lung, the phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) solution is used. The work focuses mainly on the parameters that can be measured and evaluated in the perfusate solution during the perfusion and preservation of the lungs such as pH, total dissolved solids, and proteins. These factors can be measured according to several procedures that are based on different principles. The mentioned process has been selected and implemented with regard to availability, feasibility, and appropriateness given. The pH and TDS parameters have been acquired by electrodes. Therefore, sensor calibration is an integral part of the measure ment. The concentration of the proteins was measured with the Bradford assay where it is important to follow the established protocol. Materials for that were present and provided in the Tissue engineering laboratory. Another intention is to assess the state of the lung tissue, meaning how the lungs gradually change their appearance, weight, and mechanical properties over time. The weight is obtained with the calibrated load cell sensor. For this sensor, a platform had to be assembled in order to function correctly and with great accuracy. From the field of mechanical properties of the lungs, the compliance and PV loops have been selected and presented. Five lungs were used for measurement. The appearance of the lungs changed over time and the necrosis was progressing. The lung viability was preserved with the PBS solution with balanced pH. The value of pH was maintained around pH 7. The concentration of the total dis solved solids (TDS) was determined and similar values were obtained in all lungs because the same solution was used. The TDS fluctuated slowly same as pH because they are correlated. The weight of the lungs decreased with passage of the time as expected. Protein concentration increased over time. That can indicate the inflammatory processes in the lung tissue or lung injury. The surface temperature was also obtained with a laser thermometer and decreasing values were noted with increasing storage time. Static compliance had unexpected charac teristics in some of the lungs. This was probably influenced by leakage due to an unsecured trachea. The last parameter was PV loops. The shape of the PV loops looked good until 48h in the majority of the loops. Then, the shape flatted and the shortage of curves appeared due to shortness of breath.
