Pjontek, Matej ; Hlaváček, Michal (advisor) ; Břízová, Pavla (referee)
This bachelor thesis analyzes influence of foreign exchange intervention of CNB on economy and compare it with influences of foreign exchange intervention of SNB and BOI on their economies. At first, we compare foreign exchange interventions and development of economies (banking sector, foreign trade,...) of Czech Republic, Switzerland and Israel. A hypothesis of efficiency of foreign exchange interventions of CNB, SNB and BOI is tested on specific empirical data. The bachelor thesis describes VAR model for given countries with basic macroeconomic variables (GDP growth, money supply, inflation, interest rate, nominal effective exchange rate and balance of current account of balance of payments). The results of model show on relative efficiency of foreign exchange interventions i.e. SNB mitigated influence of appreciation of CHF, CNB supported GDP growth and BOI increased foreign exchange reserves and supported GDP growth.

Ondrák, Vlastimil ; Šedivý, Ivan (advisor) ; Rychlík, Jan (referee)
The thesis unravels the problem of creation of Sbor národní bezpečnosti in Czechoslovakia in both of its sections, Public Security and State's Inner Security. The thesis also unravels the organisation, counts, decrees, equipment and function of SNB and its relation to the law system including illegal actions commited by members of SNB. The thesis relays on materials located in Security Units Archive Praha Na Struze and Siwiecova Ulice, its extention in Brno Kanice, Archive of the Museum of the Police of the Czech Republic and a publication of J. Monetary policy approaches at the ZLB to solve post-crisis situation and their effectiveness
Hummelová, Magdalena ; Hlaváček, Michal (advisor) ; Ryska, Pavel (referee)
Monetary policy approaches at the ZLB to solve post-crisis situation and their effectiveness Magdalena Hummelová May 10, 2016 Abstract This thesis describes monetary policy tools implemented by central banks whose main monetary policy rates at some point after 2008 global economic crisis hit the zero lower bound. Central banks considered in this study are the Fed, the ECB, the SNB and the CNB. A smaller ef- fectiveness analysis of the macroeconomic effects using a simple vector autoregressive (VAR) model is provided as well. The model is inspired by similar study of Gambacorta et al. (2012). With the use of monthly data over the sample period, the VAR tries to quantify the impact an increase in a central bank's balance sheet has on the main economic indicators- real output, consumer prices and implied volatility indices in the financial markets. Some of the results are comparable to those of the reference study mentioned above. This applies to the output results in a sense that the balance sheet shock has a slightly significant temporary effect on it. On the contrary, responses of the implied volatility indices and prices are less significant (or insignificant) and not at all comparable with the reference study. With some exceptions, there are no major discrepancies between individual country results in spite of...
Selected aspects of the legal regulation and organization of the StB Secret Police between 1945 and 1969
Vyskočil, Zdeněk ; Šouša, Jiří (advisor) ; Soukup, Ladislav (referee)
The broad subject of this diploma thesis would be the Czechoslovak Secret Police (StB) during the years 1945-1969; and, more narrowly, certain aspects of its organization and activities in relation to the then applicable legislation. The overriding objective, which was reflected in this legislation, was the protection of the Communist political system, the regime. This regime protection goal clearly influenced the evolution and organization of the StB and the related policies on the imprisonment of those individuals that represented a threat to the State and the State System. Similar general principles and policies have basically remained in effect into the current period. The paper begins with an Introduction and Preface, which take a look at the events and nature of the society in this post-World War II period. This material is derived from an examination of historical source materials. The remainder of the paper is divided into four additional Chapters with related subsections. The Introduction and Preface focus on the nature and state of the society in the immediate post-war period, which provided the context and background used for the development of the new legislation and the newly created institutions developed for the protection of this new social order and the punishment and incarceration...

"Major Zeman": Comparative analysis of verbal narratives and TV serial presentations
Krausová, Martina ; Bílek, Petr (advisor) ; Činátlová, Blanka (referee)
The diploma thesis "Major Zeman": Comparative analysis of verbal narratives and TV serial presentations deals with two narrative media that depict the Zeman's story: a literary narrative by Jiří Procházka and its realization as TV series. Factors affecting the resulting form of both versions were identified by means of a gradual analysis of each of the versions. These factors were external interventions made by a management of a TV company and by its professional advisors as well as a mutual rivality of producers of the series. A focus to a TV audience and a literary ambition of Procházka, who attempted to step over the boundaries of a crimi genre, played their roles as well. These all resulted in two differently conceived fiction worlds. The narrative world, built on a myth-building principle, appears to be coherent, joined by an unifying ideological line. On the contrary, the TV series world appears to be scattered.
