Teachers' Occupational Health from a Gender Perspective

This master's thesis focuses on occupational health among Czech teachers, providing a gender perspective on this topic. The aim of the thesis is to analyze central themes related to occupational health which are specific for the teaching profession as well as to identify potential role of gender in teachers' occupational health. The theoretical part of the thesis describes key components of occupational health in relation to the teaching profession. Specifically, the attention is paid to job satisfaction and work engagement which represent positive aspects of occupational health. Next, job stress and burnout which represent negative aspects of occupational health are defined. These concepts are first discussed on a general level in the context of occupational health psychology research and then specifically in the context of the teaching profession. In the next chapter of the thesis, the concept of gender is defined, and research findings concerning gender differences and inequalities in the teaching profession and teachers' occupational health are presented. University students' experience of an art therapy

There is an increasing demand for mental health support for undergraduate students in university counselling centres. Art therapy is one of the interventions that can be applied in the mental health care of university students. Research focusing on university students shows that art therapy helps to reduce stress, anxiety and depression, and promotes an increase in self-acceptance, self-esteem, self-confidence, resilience and overall mental well-being. The aim of the theoretical part of the thesis was to offer an overview of art therapy with focus on group art therapy with university students. The empirical part of the thesis aimed to focus on the voice of the client, specifically mapping the expectations and themes of university students entering an art therapy group, their experiences of participating in the group and the impact they feel. The research was conducted on a sample of 11 university students. In-depth interviews were used and were conducted twice - after the group began and after the group ended. Stress and coping strategies in gifted individuals in emerging adulthood

This bachelor thesis focuses on and experiencing stress and coping with it among gifted individuals. It aims to identify the specifics of experiencing stressful situations in the gifted in emerging adulthood. The scope of the teoretical section is first to delineate key definitions and theories related to the concepts of intelligence, giftedness and exceptional performance. Subsequently, the paper focuses on defining the concepts of stress, strain and coping. It will sum up major current theories of stress management and their implications for gifted individuals. The empirical part of the thesis was conducted using a qualitative research design. It's aim was to understand the stressors that gifted in emerging adultgood encounter, how they cope with these stressors and what role does perception of their giftedness play in these proceses. This master's thesis focuses on experiences of occupational stress in professionals employed at crisis intervention helplines. The aim of the thesis is to develop a theoretical model of coping resources used by crisis interventionists to cope with occupational stress. The theoretical part of the thesis describes key definitions and theories of occupational stress, drawing on occupational health psychology literature. Specific stressors that endanger workers' occupational health in helping professions, particularly in crisis interventions, are identified. Next, the thesis defines the concept of coping and describes specific personal, social, and other resources that can be used to cope with work-related stress. The theoretical part is concluded with an overview of recent empirical studies focusing on coping resources in counseling and crisis intervention. Workplace bullying: prevalence, forms, and work environment predictors

The thesis focuses on the issue of workplace bullying or mobbing, with the aim of identifying organizational factors affecting the incidence of workplace bullying in the public sector. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the main concepts and theories related to bullying as one of the main forms of workplace hostility. The disciplinary context of research in occupational health psychology is introduced. Subsequently, definitions and typologies of workplace bullying are presented and the main organizational predictors of bullying, including job demands or leadership, are discussed in detail. The Job-Demands and Resources (JD-R) Theory is described in detail and provides a theoretical framework for the hypotheses tested in the empirical part of the paper. The theoretical part ends with an overview of the prevalence of mobbing abroad and in the Czech Republic. Recipes in the Květy Magazine and Their Transformations in the Era of Socialism

This thesis uses analytical tools of a qualitative nature, namely historical, content and linguistic analysis, to observe the elements, examples and manner of propaganda and its projection into culinary recipes in the Květy magazine between 1951 and 1989. It describes not only the transformation of the magazine's content and the related increase in the proportion of media content devoted to culinary recipes and related topics, but also the development of the recipes themselves, taking into account the use of ingredients. The thesis further treats findings such as the increasing share of carnivore recipes and places them in the economic and political context. It also focuses on the ways of regime propaganda projection into media content, which was manifested, for example, in recipes devoted to the cuisines of so-called "friendly" countries. Further, it focuses on the methods of how certain foods were promoted in the analysed period. It explains why such content disappears in times of prosperity and reappears in times of scarcity. It also explores why certain food can be encountered in particular segments of the studied period. The effect of team coaching on safe psychological climate inside work teams

The diploma thesis examines the effect of team coaching on the team climate. The theoretical part of the thesis presents the specifics of teamwork, the concept of team climate and team coaching as a method of team development as well. At the end of theoretical part, we present actual research of team coaching. We used repeated ANOVA for the purposes of the research part of this thesis. The results didn't prove any effect of team coaching on the level of the team climate. Proven size effect shows the low values even in case of larger sample size. The Coping Strategies of the Lead Workers from the Perspective of Gender and Personality

In this thesis, we present a differences between men and women as the lead workers in terms of the use of specific coping strategies with regard to personality characteristics. In the theoretical part, we analysed the topic of the specific requirements managers need to meet and the associated stressors, as well as differences in their perception and coping with regard to gender and personality were discussed. The empirical part analysed the differences in the use of coping strategies between men and women. Probands (of sample size 2127, men N = 1343, women N = 784) completed the Stress Management Questionnaire and the Multifactor Personality Profile. Regarding the use of these twelve coping strategies, the results of the multivariate analysis revealed a significant difference (F(12,2092)=10.7, p<0.001) between men and women. A significant difference was revealed on the scale of strategies aimed at resolving situations, in which case men used these strategies significantly more than women. Univariate tests revealed significant differences in specific strategies, on the scales Self-Control (used more by men), Sharing, Someone Else's Fault, Relaxing, Avoiding, Reconciling, and Self- reflection (reported more by women compared to men). Predictors of job satisfaction among employees working in an IT organization

This paper examines job satisfaction and its predictors in the information technology sector. The aim is to examine job satisfaction factors specific to work in information technology sector and to determine whether these factors differ in their predictors of job satisfaction across roles within a software development and technology testing organization. The theoretical section focuses on the field of occupational health psychology, and in particular on the theoretical anchoring of the concept of job satisfaction. The main contemporary theories of occupational health, job satisfaction and the factors that influence job satisfaction are described. An overview of the methods used to measure job satisfaction and the specifics of working in the IT sector are also provided. The research section includes quantitative research in a selected IT company. A test battery is used to measure job satisfaction, which includes selected scales from the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire, the Minnesota Job Satisfaction Questionnaire and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale. Work Enviroment and Wellbeing of Employee

The thesis deals with the topic of personal well-being of employees and the working environment. It will introduce the concept of well-being and the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) model, describe the issue of job demands and job resources and, in connection with, also analyze the theory of conservation of resources. It will also focus on burnout and stress, which is the basic theme of JD-R model. It will also present factors of the work environment and theories of job satisfaction. The end of the theoretical part will be concluded with a chapter on coaching and its use in the workplace. The practical part then focuses on the influence of coaching on the well-being of managers and will use the six-factor model of psychological well-being for evaluation.
