Promotional activites of companies promoting nutrional supplements in the context of legal regulation of advertising in the Czech republic

This bachelor thesis is focused on the legal and ethical side of advertising of nutritional supplements. In the first (theoretical) part, the thesis covers the definition of advertising, theoretical conception of the advertising law, its development, historical context and the present regulation of advertising in the Czech Republic. An important part is the self-regulation of the advertising industry and its authority in the Czech Republic - Rada pro reklamu. The thesis also includes the main acts and important conceptions which are connected with the advertising industry. Another point is the regulation of advertising industry in the European Union and the application of European directives in Czech conditions. The topic of this bachelor thesis is connected with the advertising of nutritional supplements and its difference from the advertising of medicaments. We can often see various adverts of nutritional supplements which are deceptive in some way. Mostly it is very difficult to recognize if the product is a medicament or a nutritional supplement. There is a big difference between them, but the public is influenced by promotion and believes that a supplement can help with treating diseases. It can be very dangerous because it is often easier to buy a "magic box" with some pills and believe in its effects...
Regulation of advertising of pharmaceuticals in the contex of legal and ethical regulations in the Czech Republic

The bachelor thesis is concerned with legal and ethical regulation of advertising, notably with legal and ethical regulation of pharmaceutical advertising. The aim is to provide comprehensive insights into issues and to demonstrate theoretical knowledge on practical examples. On a smaller scale, the thesis also points to specific problems in this area while proposing their solutions. Its content is divided into six chapters. The introduction presents the issues and outlines the grounds for choosing this subject. Furthermore, it introduces the structure of the work followed by a justification of the selection of sources and evaluates the work's final form. The theoretical part is devoted to basic concepts and aspects of the topic. Following chapters explain general regulation of advertising and specific regulation of pharmaceutical advertising. This part is not limited to a mere description of the normative framework, but is complemented with some critical considerations and suggestions for improvement. The practical part is entrusted with the analysis of related cases and their critical evaluation. A complete presentation of findings noted by the author is delivered at the end of the thesis. Regulation of advertising on alcohol and tobacco in the Czech Republic

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe the development and the realisation of tobacco and alcohol advertising in the Czech Republic. In the first part, the thesis focuses on the historical development of advertising in our territory. Then it analyses contemporary legislative framework for alcohol and tobacco advertising and related legal problems. The second part provides examples of correct research, which analyses opinions of young people on ethical safety. In the third part the thesis evaluates the previous an incorrect advertising, which appeared in the Czech media. These advertisings are then evaluated in the last part.
Regulations of advertising within a legal and ethical framework focusing on unfair competition in the Czech Republic

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to present the legal and ethical framework of regulations of advertising, while pointing out the latest changes in this area. The legislation of unfair competition, especially false advertising and comparative advertising which went through some changes due to the new Czech Civil Code is more closely described. In the theoretical part of this thesis first the evolution of advertising in general is described, then it briefly enlightens on the development of regulations of advertising in the Czech Republic. Afterwards the thesis is divided into three main parts which describe ethical self-regulation, legal regulation and unfair competition. The practical part of the work contains examples regarding false and comparative advertising from the last few years. Lastly the content of this thesis is summarized and the author's opinion on the regulation of advertising is offered
The influence of the Membership on Czech legal framework and subsequent practices concerning commercial communication

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyse the extent of influence that the European Union has on legal provisions concerning commercial communication in the Czech Republic. The paper describes areas where the European Union sets binding rules that must be followed at national level. The aim is to detect whether these rules are new in Czech context or whether they would have been applied and enforced even without the contribution of the European Union. Moreover, the scope of these rules will be analysed in order to determine the extent of direct influence that the European Union has in certain areas on the everyday life of customers in the Czech Republic.
