Mediation as one of the forms of conflict resolution

This work is devoted to resolving conflicts with still not too familiar mediation. It aims to bring this method to the public and familiarize them with its use at home and abroad. In each chapter explains the meanings of important concepts such as conflict, discrimination and bullying in the workplace. In particular, it is defined as mediation and the importance of such person mediator. Some questions on this issue I leave open on purpose, because the mediation is still an evolving method. This work includes, inter alia, data and reports the percentage of success and use of this progressive method. The information set forth herein are based on technical documents and statistics, including those from abroad. Not only because they work summarizing the material, which gives clear information on mediation as a form of conflict resolution.
Educational attainment as a factor enabling flexible working arrangements for women on maternity leave in the Czech Republic

Presented work analyzes the influence of educational attainment in comparison with other factors that enable women on maternity or parental leave in the Czech Republic to actively participate in the labour market using flexible working arrangements. There are subjective and objective factors that may influence decisions of women active in the labour market. The work describes in detail following: selected tools of the social politics, cultural influence, preferences of individual women, need of another income in the household or division of labour with the partner. These influences are examined on examples of particular women using a method of semistructured interviews in qualitative survey. This work is compared with statistical data and relevant results of existing surveys. An assumption of presented work is the fact, that women with a higher education are better equipped to use possible options of available flexible working arrangements. The results of this survey confirm the assumption to a certain level, however it points also to other factors that are at least of the same importance as the level of attained education.
Working environment

A person's working environment is one of the places that he/she spends a large part of his/her time, and that is the reason why it is necessary to dedicate sufficient attention and care to it. This care involves optimizing working conditions- which influence the activity and productivity of employees- and creating a pleasant atmosphere in workplace. If this care for working environment is taken as a whole, it reaches beyond social-psychological conditions to the actual conditions of the working station, which are called the physical factors. These factors are present in every type of workplace (whether in digger or smaller quantity) and they can markedly influence the mood of employees, the overall atmosphere of the workplace and finally also the achievement of individual employees. The physical conditions of work are composed of: noise, lighting, choice of colors, the conditions of microclimate, design of workplace, and last but not least ergonomically suitable tools and working equipment the worker uses. Almost all mentioned items have recommended limits and specification and quiet frequently they are regulated by sanitary codes and legislature.
Social adaptation of workers in organizations

Bachelor thesis resumes the findings about process of social adaptation, which proceeds within the adaptation process when the newly acquired workers enter the organization. It describes factors, which influence process of the organizational adaptation, work group adaptation and it refers also to the organizational culture. Further it discusses the notions "adaptation" and "social adaptation", their exact definitions and partitions. Consequeantially it describes the particular adaptation and social adaptation processes and their preparation, it mentions the pieces of knowledge about monitoring and appraisal of the adaptation processes. Last but not least it deals with the consequences of the social adaptation. The conclusion of the thesis is the identification of those parts of adaptation process, which belong to the realm of social adaptation and the description of their practical application. Social adaptation comprehends the organizational-culture-training, delegation of a trained mentor, who cares about the worker during the work adaptation and qualificated adaptation appraisal. Social adaptation is composed by the general organizational and professional quality of the adaptation process, too.
Foucault and Lifelong Learning as a Political Concept

The bachelor thesis deals with the intellectual legacy of Michel Foucault and his possible aplication in relation to the concept of lifelong learning. Thesis argues that lifelong learning is used as a political concept in the contemporary educational discourse in European Union, which is shown from the critical Foucauldian perspective. In its theoretical part bachelor thesis has the form of compilation of possible interpretations regarding Foucault's thesis in relation to the field of lifelong learning. Thesis focuses in particular on the Foucault's notion of governmentality that offers comprehensive view of the way by which neoliberalism penetrated into different forms of governance including the field of education. In the second part thesis focuses on the analysis of seleceted strategic documents of European Union with the use of Foucault's critical approach to the neoliberal governmentality. Thesis reveals in which way these documents percieve the concept of lifelong learning and its role in the future development of European Union. The bachelor thesis contributes to the discussion about a potential use of Foucault's work in relation to the analysis of political concept of lifelong learning.
Evaluation of implementation webinars to further teachers education in Liberec region

The work deals with the issues of webinar organizing and synchronous online learning in a virtual classroom. The thesis is divided into two parts, a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part particularly pays attention to ICT and e-learning in the area of adult education and to modern trends in online communication and cooperation. The practical part is focused on the area of synchronous live learning in a virtual classroom and it evaluates the supply situation and the use of webinars in the Czech republic. The practical part also presents author's survey among the teachers in Liberec region. Lastly, it provides the webinar case study and subsequently it discusses and evaluates its progress. The diploma thesis responds to innovation in ICT and contributes to current development and the use of webinars in adult education.
Socio-psychological aspects of employees downsizing

This diploma thesis discusses the process of employee termination in corporate organizations, with special focus on the socio-psychological aspects of such actions from the point of view of all relevant parties (stakeholders). Firstly, it highlights the positive role of work in the life of a human being, and how its absence negatively demonstrates itself after the loss of employment. Secondly, the thesis evaluates specific methods of employee termination, their implementation, and identifies the role of HR specialists during the termination process with special attention to the ethical aspects. Thirdly, the consequences of layoffs are analyzed on several levels: with regard to the individuals affected by termination process, organizations that are laying off and the government. Subsequently, to identify recommendations, which would mitigate the negative consequences of such actions, the thesis explores potential solutions in the government employment policies and outplacement programs within the corporations. As part of corporate social responsibility it links the problem of termination with the reputation of the organization as a valuable and attractive employer on the market. Motivation for continuing education and factors affecting participation in continuing education

The aim of this bachelor thesis "Motivation for continuing education and factors affecting participation in continuing education" is to analyze what motivates adults to participate in continuing education and what are main obstacles in adult education. The paper consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with an overview of basic knowledge about the issue with the use of literature, both domestic and foreign authors. The second, practical part contains a description of own empirical survey. The aim of the survey is to identify the main reasons for adults to participate in continuing education and detect the most common barriers, obstacles to such participation. The survey is trying to confirm the conclusions from the theoretical part by the analysis of the select company. Graphology and the ways how to use it in practice

The diploma thesis "Graphology and the ways how to use it in practice" introduces this projective method as one of the available instruments which can be used in working or self-growth by lectors of adult education, counsellors, personnel managers, supervisors in personnel agencies, and all the others who act in proffessions where the main concern is the interest in a person and his development. The concrete examples from practice, prove the possibilities of handy usage. These examples come from an area of development and education of key employees, and also from the area of culture. A part of the thesis focuses on the basic terms of the theory of a person since there is a direct connection to graphology. The principle and method of working with a handwriting are divided into themes and found in the main text part. The main themes deal with the symbolism of handwriting, complex impression marks and measurable and describable marks. These kinds of writing phenomenons have their own possibilities of interpretation. The thesis also focuses on the basic typologies and the way they are reflected in a handwriting. Training courses for managers and possibilities of innovation in short-term courses for lower management

The present work focuses on training courses and education of lower level management. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of lower level management and its specific position in the organizational structure and competencies that are important. Another part of the theoretical work is devoted to education and the creation of educational activities including evaluation methods. There are presented two management courses in the empirical part for the lowest managerial positions at McDonald's Czech Republic and Slovakia. There are suggested possible improvements and changes in the conception rate onthe basis of the theoretical work. Part of the empirical part is also evaluation of feedback provided by course participants but systematically not processed.
