The system of corporate education and development in Tesco Stores ČR a.s.

This thesis is dealing with the system of corporate training and development in one of the biggest Czech retail enterprises, Tesco Stores ČR a. s. After opening presentation of theoretical attitudes considering contemporary approaches to the corporate training and development I introduce a general description of Tesco Stores training system which together with other core business activities is particularly aimed to satisfy customers needs. Customer orientation has also a direct impact on training forms, methods and activities which result from corporate strategy, its culture and from the system of human resources management. An important part of the thesis are the ways of evaluation of training and development efficiency. The text is divided into several parts according to the specific training needs and activities of their participants based upon organizational hierarchy. Another considerable part is devoted to the core staff of every enterprise - the low and middle management - which is dealt with focus on their development and the axe of it - the Performance management process. Cross-cultural training in multinational companies

Cross-cultural training (CCT) represents an integral part of predeparture preparation for employees leaving for long-term job assignments, shortterm stays or business trips as well as for international team members. Developing intercultural competence, CCT can accelerate adjustment to new social environments and work conditions as well as mitigate difficulties occurring during the adjustment process. Good adjustment is a precondition of effective job performance at new location and, thus, enables achieving organizational goals. The thesis paper presents development of approaches to CCT design from the 1980s until now. Current approaches prefer an integrated CCT consisting of a general part - focused on cultural awareness and personal development - and a specific part - training employees for intercourses within a specific culture. Specific CCT methods and forms are further mentioned as well as the issue of CCT effectiveness. Introductory chapters shall give a brief overview of the specifics of international personnel management and cultural dimensions and standards.
The role of psychological services in a Integrated rescue servis

In our work we marked out a charting of psychosocial service within the Integrated rescue system with the aim to describe the possibilities and the deficiences of this system within the Czech Republic. The usage of psychosocial help during extreme events is very popular nowadays and each organization which involves helping at such events, tries to provide it. Its history is relatively short, it has been pushing itself dramatically last 20 years. Nevertheless, it has already obtained a bad reputation. The conception including aims isn't clear and the misusage of help very frequent. Nowadays psychological help is considered modern, however dangerous at the same time because it can lead to groundless and inappropriate actions.
Talent management

This thesis is looking for the answer to the question: "What is the talent management and how it can be effectivelly implemented to the personnel policy of the organization?" Attention is focused on clarifying the concept of talent management and individual personnel actions, which take place in organizations, and their possible connection with the talent management. The practical exhibition of the talent management programme is described in more detailes and its goal is to formulate conclusions that would answer the inniciate question and help to expose effective talent management process. Key words: talent, talent identification, talent recruitment, motivation and stabilization of talents, managing and developing talent.
System of staff recruitment selection

Introduced bachelor thesis attends to system of staff recruitment and selection of new employees. These personal activities are very important for human resources management and have direct impact on staff formation. Attracting new employees covers appropriate addressing of candidates on labour market, who are then a pool for selecting the most suitable ones by recruitment specialists and managers. These are the key phases which influence quality of human capital in companies. This bachelor thesis introduces particular steps of staff recruitment process and attends to sourcing and methods of recruitment. Selection of new employees is focused on selection criteria and particular selection methods. In the second part of the thesis teoretical attitudes to staff recruitment and selection of new employees are completed by its practical application in Ceska sporitelna, a.s. that belongs among the most considerable bank institutions on Czech market. In the last few years labour market was changed mainly by demographic progress and lack of experts. Therefore companies are pushed to changed their recruitment and selection processes and to attract and retain top employees more and more up-to-date trends are in use by companies and these innovations are also introduced in this bachelor thesis.
Reconciliation of profesional and family life in the Czech Republic

A new model of the labour market and new possibilities of life strategies, which have been triggered of by economic, cultural and political changes after 1989, have brought along with them new conditions of participation in the labour market and hereby a necessity to approach differently the reconciliation of professional and family life. This work is an analysis of socio-political conditions, financial possibilities and time which both families and employers have at their disposal in order to reconcile the professional and family life of their own or that of their employees. The work draws on the available statistical and sociological sources that can contribute to understanding of the current situation and which are concerned with the problems and potential solutions for reconciling work and family.
Community planning of social services and education opportunities for its participants

The aim of this work is to examine the idea of community planning of social services and introduce education possibilities of its participants using examples of particular education programmes. In Chapter One, I explain terms related to the topic, i.e. the meaning of the words 'community' and 'community planning'. In the following chapter, I introduce the planning of social services into a greater detail. I discuss its history, resources and means of financing as well as its individual phases. I particularly deal with principles and benefits of the community planning. At the end of Chapter Two, I mention several examples of organisations actively dealing with the community planning. In Chapter Three, I focus on education of participants who are part of the community planning of the social services process. I introduce four organisations and their education programmes and courses, and I examine whether their course offer is satisfactory for its participants. The work is supplemented by personal experience and comments of the participants.
The parents with small children as employees

This bachelor's theses is focused on legislation ensued from the family policy of the Czech Republic and on the institutions of child care for the children at the age up to six. The author sets a task to show the structure of the family policy of the Czech Republic in the first part of the theses. She tries to show various steps of the family policy and their influence on the possibilities of parents with small children as employees. The second part of the theses considers current system of pre-school child care institutions in the Czech Republic. At the end of the theses, the author tries to answer the following question: Do the parents with children of the pre-school age have enough possibilities to use child care services, if they want to return to their jobs after their parental leave?
School as a device of power and social control

The work discusses the mutual relation of society and school. Maps authors, who comment this topic and puts them in the context. It looks through the whole spectrum of the answers on the question, if the school reproduces the social inequality or allows the individual to emancipate and move through the social classes. It views advantages and disadvantages of social institutions and tries to point some of the specific phenomenon that deal with the school institution - generally and also concretely. Here it watches the situation in Czech republic. At the end it deals with the multicultural education as a specific area that reflects the relation of education, training and society.
Diversity management

The key topic of the work is diversity management, i.e. management of em-ployees" diversity within organization. Opening part of the work identifies the position of diversity within society and related phenomena such as stereotypes, biases and various forms of discrimination. Then the work discusses the role of diversity management in organizations, its principles and basic areas of focus. Attention is paid to certain social groups that the diversity management concept should especially deal with. This concerns especially themes like employment of foreigners, women and man taking maternal and parental leave, employees over fifty years of age and physically challenged people. The work also mentions top-ics like work-life balance of employees and equal treatment of women and men in an organization. Furthermore, the work discusses benefits of diversity manage-ment and explains reasons, why organizations should implement this concept. Second part of the work demonstrates practical application of diversity manage-ment in an organization, its implementation, monitoring and evaluation. The final chapter of the work presents examples of real organizations that have successfully applied diversity management.
