Heroes of the troubled children
Timurová, Lenka ; Pavlas Martanová, Veronika (advisor) ; Mazehóová, Yvona (referee) ; Chrz, Vladimír (referee)
The dissertation thesis points to a wide range of possibilities of therapeutic use with fairy-tale material and at the same time offers a concrete example of working with adolescents with educational problems. We worked with ten respondents, 5 boys and 5 girls who were clients of the Center for Educational Care. Based on the assumption that the fairy tale metaphor represents a non-threatening stimulus, the respondents were asked to formulate their own lives into a fairy tale. All participants were willing to work with a fairy-tale metaphor even on subjectively unpleasant topics, and in none of the stories did we encounter any significant resistance. The analysis of stories through Propp's morphology of the fairy tale brought a characteristic story of a child with an educational problem and at the same time proved to be a meaningful therapeutic tool. The analysis of the data through a narratively oriented approach inspired by McAdams and his identity as a life story yielded a demonstration of the identity of an adolescent with educational problems. An important outcome of the work is the evaluation of the internally experienced responsibility of this specific group of adolescents. Keywords: adolescents, risk behavior, fairy tale, life story, therapeutic tool

Lampová, Klára ; Pavlas Martanová, Veronika (advisor) ; Valentová, Hana (referee)
The diploma thesis follows the bachelor thesis "School and Counselling Trajectory of a Child with Asperger's Syndrome", where the experience of children with this diagnosis and their parents with school attendance was described. This time it is viewed from the perspective of primary school teachers who have experience with a pupil with Asperger's syndrome. For data collecting a semi-structured interviews about Asperger's syndrome were used and a qualitative method was chosen. Based on the analysis of the results, the following areas were found: "how it all started", what it means to have a pupil with Asperger's syndrome in the classroom, conflicts, what helps, experiencing inclusion of a child with Asperger's syndrome by his class teacher, "…so one wonders, if it's worth it". The results most often included the individuality of the child and the lack of time and space on the part of teachers in meeting the individual needs of included children, the importance of support from the teaching assistant and also the importance of cooperation with the child's family. The work also includes the theoretical definition of the inclusion of pupils with Asperger's syndrome into regular primary school. Evaluation of Zippy's friends for primary school age children
Masařová, Anna ; Pavlas Martanová, Veronika (advisor) ; Frombergerová, Anna (referee)
The thesis focuses on the Zippy's Friends prevention program, which is aimed at promoting social skills among children between 5-7 years of age. The first part of the thesis presents the theoretical framework for the main practical part. The goal was to conduct an evaluation of the implementation of this programme. The thesis is focused on alternative uses of the methodology and application. The data was obtained through semi-structured interviews with five respondents. The research shows that working with the methodology is not just a matter of the teacher within the classroom, but it involves a wider sphere of professionals working with children. In practice, the methodology is used not only for children between 5-7 years of age, but also for older children with various specificities. According to the respondents, some flexibility in working with the methodology and adapting it to the needs of specific children seems to be effective. According to interviewees, the Zippy's Friends methodology is a very versatile tool that can be used in different ways. However, the essence of the programme in the form of "Zippy Tips" and the Zippy's Friends story remains in most cases. Despite the fact that none of the evaluations conducted so far have dealt directly with alternative uses, some similar conclusions...

Pokorná, Vendula ; Lukavská, Kateřina (advisor) ; Pavlas Martanová, Veronika (referee)
BAKALÁŘSKÁ PRÁCE The attitudes of adolecents towards e-cigarettes and tobacco Abstract In my bachelor thesis I deal with the attitudes of the czech adolescents (students of the first year of the the high school) to combustible cigarettes, electronic cigarettes and heated tabacco. I aimed for finding out different predictors of percieved risk, such as gender, type of school and the knowledge of the certain product. I was also observing the relations between the perceived risk of the electronic cigarettes, the heated tabacco and the personal characteristics according to Big 5. The data has been gained through the cooperation with high schools of the capital city of Prague. Orientation in the moral dimension of children group games - the influence of experience with circus pedagogy
Licholetova, Kateřina ; Klusák, Miroslav (advisor) ; Pavlas Martanová, Veronika (referee)
Following Piaget's research on children's moral judgment, Kuruczova found that in school aged children, the development of orientation in the moral dimension of games organized as a competition significantly preceded the development of orientation in the moral dimension of games organized as cooperation. According to Kuruczova, considerable differences in the degree of orientation between the two types of games may be related to how ordinary school institutions build on competitive ideology, thereby promoting a sense of social relations in the game competition at the expense of sensitivity in game cooperation. Thereafter she discussed that it could be different for children with experience with circus pedagogy, which builds on the ideology of cooperation. The objective of this thesis was to contribute to Piaget's theory of the development of children's moral judgment and to examine whether children's alternative experiences affect their moral orientation in the children's group games and the transition from heteronomy to autonomy in understanding the imperative of obedience to authority. Theoretical introduction includes the main findings of Piaget's theory of moral judgment of children. Than it focusses on the ideology of circus pedagogy and social circus, including knowledge about their positive...

The work is provided with a theoretical framework that mainly approximates the role of communication in online teaching, the motivation of pupils to learn and also presents the results of other research investigations already carried out into distance learning. Screen use by children aged 6-9 years
Svobodová, Lucie ; Lukavská, Kateřina (advisor) ; Pavlas Martanová, Veronika (referee)
This diploma thesis focuses on the usage of digital technologies by children of early school age (1st to 3rd grade of elementary school). The aim of the thesis is to map in detail the use of screens in children aged 6-9 years and determine the age that would be suitable for the implementation of prevention programs aimed at the healthy use of technologies by children. The research is interested in how much time the children of a given age spend using electronic screens and what type of screens they usually use, what activities they do on the device, how the use differs between boys and girls and whether there are differences in use by children among the first three grades of primary school. The chosen research design is a cross-sectional questionnaire survey in an online form intended for parents. The results of the research showed that the amount of screen time increased with the age of the child and a larger increase was observed mainly in children in the 3rd grade of primary school. Most often, children spend time on mobile devices (smartphone or tablet) and watching TV. We also noticed a slight increase in the use of game consoles for boys in the 3rd grade of primary school, while girls use these devices hardly ever. Thus, prevention programs and education on the safe use and the risks...

The theoretical part amasses and elaborates on the information available in literature and presents the results of research endeavours dealing with the topic. As a follow-up of the theoretical part, the research part constitutes the second major portion of the paper. It is carried out in the way of an explorative research which aims at the deeper examination of the topic, at providing both professional and non-professional persons with useful information, at the formulation of new hypotheses and at the directing of future research efforts in the right way. The aforementioned aim is identical with the aim of the entire thesis as well. Based on the aim, the research itself is divided into two constitutive parts, where each presents the reader with certain kinds of information. The first part uses descriptive statistics to summarize the data amassed by the quantitative method of a questionnaire survey, whereas the second part makes use of the methods of inferential statistics in order to analyse said data and draw a comparison of two different subsets of the sample involved. At the end of the diploma thesis, results of the research are presented and used to draw a conclusion about the topic,...
