Nový, Petr ; Jakubec, Ivan (advisor) ; Mergl, Jan (referee) ; Novotný, Lukáš (referee)
Changes in Jablonec Glass and Jewellery Export in the first half of the 20th Century PhDr. Petr Nový Abstract In the first half of the 20th century, due to political upheavals, dependence on foreign markets and the nature of the assortment, Jablonec goods (jewellery made of glass, metal or plastic and small glass products) went through the most dynamic phase in its history. At the same time, it was a very profitable field, which in its time had no competition in the world in terms of the variety of the offer, and brought considerable foreign exchange profits to the state. The dissertation is divided into two main parts. The first deals with general and specific questions connected with the export of Jablonec goods in a defined period. It traces both the general historical development of the field and the interaction between production and export, including the types of actors' reactions to turning points. It also contains contemporaneous testimonies of exporters who, in the defined period, were engaged in foreign trade with Jablonec goods. The second part of the dissertation is devoted to exporters as a specific group of entrepreneurs with a fundamental influence on the development of the entire field. It brings their collective biography, which also includes a typology. Attention is paid not only to the...
Methodology of collecting and preserving the design of Czechoslovak glass and costume jewellery 1948–1989
Nový, Petr ; Nováková, Kateřina Nora ; Hrušková, Kateřina ; Havlíčková, Dagmar
The methodology deals with the issue of collecting and preserving the design of Czechoslovak glass and costume jewellery from the period 1948–1989, specifically a wide range of manual and automatic commercial decorated and undecorated utilitarian glass and finished costume jewellery made of glass, metal, plastic and other materials, including prototypes. It does not include other branches of the glass industry and crafts (flat glass, packaging glass, laboratory glass, glass fibres, glass mosaics and stained glass, author's glass and author's jewellery). It provides information that will facilitate and at the same time improve the dating and description of products created in a defined period. It offers instructions for the systematization of qualified active collection, including information necessary for the appropriate care of collection items obtained in this way. The design of Czechoslovak glass and costume jewellery during the socialist period cannot be viewed in a competent manner and processed as a collection without knowledge of the essential organizational landmarks that accompanied the fields of glass and costume jewellery. These changes brought about the disappearance of old and the emergence of new brands or trademarks and are therefore important for orientation when trying to date objects, or they conditioned technological changes that are essential for describing the method of production. This information is therefore an integral part of the methodology, as well as comprehensive overview appendices.

An analysis of the determinants influencing the probability of cancellation for projects receiving EU funding
Nový, Petr ; Martišková, Monika (advisor) ; Patáková, Magdalena (referee)
This thesis approaches the problem of the cancelled projects receiving EU funding as another reference variable through which the absorption capacity of the Czech Republic may be measured. The determinants influencing the probability of projects cancellation have so far been only modestly described. Therefore, an attempt to examine some determinants influencing the probability of cancellation for projects receiving EU funding is made, first, by summarizing and describing trends of cancelled projects in the programming period 2007 - 2013 and, second, by econometric inference trying to find the possible determinants. The data shows the ever increasing trend of cancelled projects and large share of the Operational Program Enterprise and Innovations on all cancelled projects. It was found that it is the size of the paid amount for projects that determines negatively the probability of projects cancellation most significantly. Apart from that, the age of a firm and number of employees also play a significant positive role. The year 2008 when crisis broke out, is also a determining factor.
Enviromental and social aspects of the settlement structure in the prehistory (since the neolithic) and early middle ages
