Properties of pulse wave velocity in human body during various excitations
Matejková, Magdaléna ; Halámek, Josef (referee) ; Vondra, Vlastimil (advisor)
The thesis is concerned with the analysis of measuring pulse wave velocity in human body with the aid of whole-body multichannel bioimpedance which was developed at ISI AS CR, v.v.i.. The evaluation of pulse wave velocity can provide us with important information about the state of vessel compliance which is one of the basic parameters informing on their physiological state. The examination of the state of vascular system is a very important part of early diagnostics because its pathological states are the main contributor to the rise of cardiovascular diseases and disease mortality. The thesis is concerned with the theoretical analysis together with the available methods of valuation of the state of vascular system that use measuring of pulse wave velocity. The main part of the thesis deals with the analysis of the whole-body multichannel bioimpedance measurement. The proposed and programmed protocol that summarizes and visualizes all obtained information is a part of this thesis. This is currently used as an output of the experimental measurement by this method. Data file for statistical processing contains the values of the pulse wave velocity of 35 healthy volunteers and subsequently the properties of pulse wave are assessed at various excitations.
Study of preparation of ceramic membranes
Matějková, Michaela ; Částková, Klára (referee) ; Bartoníčková, Eva (advisor)
In this bachelor thesis the literature retrieval concerning the preparation of ceramic membranes suitable for power applications (membrane reactors, fuel cells) and materials suitable for their preparation, was summarised. Based on that literature retrieval the glycine-nitrate syntheses of selected ceramic materials were performed. As starting material was chosen zirconate structure (Zr-Ba-O), which was doped by cerium, iron, aluminium and manganese ions. The resulting powders were further processed to solid membranes by unaxial pressing and sintering (density of sintered bodies about 93 % t. d.). Then the influence of dopants on the properties of the powders and ceramic membranes were studied. The evaluation of properties (as phase composition, powders morphology and microstructure of ceramic bodies) was performed by x-ray analysis, scanning electron microscopy, a specific surface analysis and simultaneous thermal analysis.

Vestibular Function in Cochlear Implant Patients
Matějková, Michaela ; Čakrt, Ondřej (advisor) ; Koutná, Sára (referee)
Hearing loss is the most common sensory impairment. More than 5 % of the world's population suffers from disabling hearing loss, which affects approximately one third of people over the age of 65. In those cases where hearing aids are not a sufficient solution to these difficulties, cochlear implantation is the standard treatment. It replaces, at least in part, the function of the hair cells that are no longer able to stimulate the primary auditory neurons. However, there are concerns about the potential risk of impaired vestibular function and the development or worsening of non-vestibular problems such as tinnitus, vertigo and orofacial disorders. Aims: To provide a theoretical summary of fundamental information on the vestibular system and cochlear implantation and to assess vestibular and non-vestibular function after cochlear implantation and the impact of any abnormalities on patients' quality of life. Methods: All of the participants underwent subjective visual vertical examination, platform posturography and completed five questionnaires - Dizziness Handicap Inventory, Tinnitus Handicap Inventory, Facial Disability Index, Beck's Anxiety Inventory and Beck's Depression Inventory. Overall and partial results from platform posturography examinations were compared with a control group of...

Considering the frequent and fast changes, technology development, new processes and globalization, education becomes more and more important. It impacts not only individuals but also organizations that need to have high quality employees who will be able to react to the changes and adapt to new conditions. To ensure process effectiveness, it is necessary to select appropriate educational methods when educating employees. This thesis deals with coaching, and its aim is to evaluate the possibility of using coaching as an educational method in business organization. In the theoretical part, the comparative and content-analysis methods were used and in the empirical part the data were collected through questionnaire and semi-structured and unstructured interviews. Research was executed among employees of business organizations, human resources personnel and managers who had experience with coaching. It was supplemented by an interview with a professional coach who provides coaching in organizations. The goal of the survey was to identify benefits of coaching for employee education and to detect its potential constraints. The results of the survey demonstrated that coaching can be considered as a suitable method for educating employees. The main benefit for employees is in improving their skills in...

Intertextuality in the Genre of Newspaper Commentary
Matějková, Michaela ; Schneiderová, Soňa (advisor) ; Chejnová, Pavla (referee)
My bachelor thesis deals with Intertextuality in the genre of newspaper commentary. The theoretical part describes the concept of Intertextuality in various Czech language guides and its interpretation. Further I clarify the genre of analytical style of journalism - the commentary - its basic features and distinctive position in journalistic style. Material for the practical part I excerpted from the daily press in its electronic form, in the period from August 2012 to March 2014. Specifically, I focused on the daily Mladá fronta Dnes and Lidové noviny. An analysis of the material revealed that the authors of very frequent use of intertextuality apply their general knowledge, give this genre a strong distinctive character, expressing a subjective evaluation and gaining the attention of the recipient. Intertextual links in comments across all topics usually appear already in the headline of comments. The most common forms are allusions, quotations or paraphrases. Serves as a source pretext original literary, film, music, as well as sayings and proverbs or biblical references.
