Motejlek, Ondřej ; Němcová Tejkalová, Alice (advisor) ; Macková, Veronika (referee)
The main goal of this work is to analyse media coverage of the last floorball men world championship and the last basketball men european championship and compare them. Followed media are ČT sport, Sport and Mladá fronta DNES. In this work was used the method of quantitative content analysis and the method of inquiry. With the quantitative content analysis method I followed the media coverage of the World Floorball Championships 2014 since 28th November to 21st December and the media coverage of the European Basketball Championship 2013 since 29th August to 29th September. I used the method of inquiry to ask members of editorial staffs. I realised that floorball and basketball championships are almost at the same level in the czech media. TV and newspapers follow strictly the czech national team. When Czechs are eliminated, both tournaments become very marginal for czech newspapers and TV. Floorball and basketball are in the position of small sports. However, large part of coverage can be found on newspapers and TV websites.
