Happiness at work in organizations-causes, contributors and consequences
Macháček, Martin ; Höschlová, Eva (advisor) ; Štětovská, Iva (referee)
The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the topic of happiness at work and organizations. First part shortly illustrates the importance of the happiness for a relatively new discipline of positive psychology. The happiness is presented as an interculturally valuable emotion. Several definitions are further summarised as well as compared with the similar terms such as well-being or satisfaction. Moreover, some of the methods used for the happiness measurement are described. In the main part of the thesis, the happiness at work is presented as part of the current approach focussing on the positive aspects of the work environment. The next three subsections discuss the causes, contributors and consequences of happiness at work. Briefly, the related topic of employee engagement is mentioned as well. The last part of the thesis concludes how to measure happiness at work and organizations. The empirical part presents a research proposal which compares the levels of experienced happiness between the sport professionals and general population.

Implementing SPC in the Production Process
Dostál, Petr ; Macháček, Martin (referee) ; Bartes, František (advisor)
The thesis deals with implementing of statistical process control (SPC) on CNC cut center into the mechanic production. One part of the project is engaged in theoretical information gathering, process monitoring and data collection. Second part deals with stabilization, regulation and improvement of the process using right statistical instruments. As a result is implementing measuring station from where will be the process data transferred to a server and evaluated. On the basis of that is possible to implement a correction in the right time if the process isn´t stabilized. The main objectives of the thesiss are cost reduction, scrap reduction and modernization of the process.
Lifetime measurement of current carriers in silicon solar cells structures
Macháček, Martin ; Hégr, Ondřej (referee) ; Boušek, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with a lifetime measurement of current carriers in silicon solar cell structures. In the first chapter there is a description of several recombination models and their participation at a final effective lifetime value. By using these recombination models in a computer simulation it is possible to receive approximate evaluation of some important silicon solar cell structure parameters. The PC1D simulation program was used for this thesis. For the lifetime measurement of real test-wafers two methods were used: QSSPC (quasi-steady-state photoconductance) and MW-PCD (microwave photoconductance decay). There is a detail description of these methods, used measurements machines and differences between both of them in the chapter four. The main objective of the thesis is mentioned in the last chapter, which is mainly focused on a chemical passivation of silicon wafers and deals with a problem of post-passivation wafer cleaning. There are three passivation techniques mentioned: the iodine in ethanol solution, the iodine and polymer in ethanol solution and the quinhydron in methanol solution. In two cases a results, that are adequate to return the tested wafers in the manufacture process, were achieved.
Reporting bonds according to the Czech accounting regulations and standards and IFRS
Macháček, Martin ; Zelenka, Vladimír (advisor) ; Zelenková, Marie (referee)
This bachelor thesis concerns the legal and economical adjustment of bonds, a bond analysis and the accounting and reporting of bonds for entrepreneurs according to the Czech accounting regulations and standards and IFRS. The theoretical part is explained using examples of discount bonds and coupon bonds. Subsequently, both systems are compared and the finding reveals that the biggest difference is in the distribution of interest. There the IFRS strictly require the use of the effective interest rate. Whereas, according to the Czech accounting regulations and standards, there is the anticipated use of the effective interest rate only for financial institutions and large corporations. Entrepreneurs usually use particularly linear distribution of interest for their needs.
Application development on platform JavaFX 8
Macháček, Martin ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor) ; Pecinovský, Rudolf (referee)
Bachelor thesis is focused at JavaFX 8 platform. The main goal of thesis it to get read-ers familiar with this platform, its new elements and possibilities, and offer them a manual for developing RIA applications running on this platform. Thesis mainly uses authors expe-rience supported by adequate literature and technical documentation of platform for achieving its goals. The contribution consists of prepared manual written in Czech lan-guage, as well as described Scene Builder tool designed for developing user interfaces. Thesis begins with explanation of term JavaFX and description of platform, its historical development and architecture. Further the thesis explains Scene Builder tool designed for development of user interfaces. This Chapter mentions current possibilities and describes in detail working environment of this tool, and outputs in form of FXML documents describ-ing developed user interface. Next chapter provides a manual firstly explaining types and properties of two different architectures of JavaFX applications. Further chapter explains basic principles of development and specific platform features. Finally the chapter de-scribes launching applications in different modes which JavaFX application supports. The-sis is ends with practical example of simple application implementing new graphical com-ponents and deployed as a web application.
Professional Reflections by the CR Police Officers in Týn nad Vltavou
MACHÁČEK, Martin
The objective of this bachelor thesis is to find out how police officers serving at the district department in Týn nad Vltavou perceive their occupation in which they sometimes find themselves on a daily basis in conflicting roles of a policeman versus a friend, an acquaintance or a family member. The work aims to map the problems seen by the Týn police officers as crucial for the exercise of their profession. The thesis can serve to the executive workers of similarly big or smaller district departments to improve the work environment and strengthen the work conditions that are favourable for police officers. The findings can also be used by top managers of the Police of the Czech Republic as an incentive to change the conditions of the career growth.
Empirické eseje o pravidlech měnové politiky a inflaci
Vašíček, Bořek ; Turnovec, František (advisor) ; Šmídková, Kateřina (referee) ; Macháček, Martin (referee) ; Babecký, Jan (referee)
This dissertation is divided into four essays, each of them having its own structure and methodological framework. Although each of the essays making the chapters of the thesis is self-contained, their topics are very closely related. Consequently, the reader will be able to follow the thesis in its unity. Essay I is a selective survey of the extensive, mostly theoretic, literature dealing with monetary policy rules. We aim at contextualization of the monetary policy rules in the existing monetary economics literature. We explain the logic, the inspiration and the history of the rules for the monetary policy conduct. We distinguish between instrument rules and targeting rules as two basic categories. Finally, we resume specific issues related to policy rules for small open economies. Essay II studies the logic of short-term interest rate setting pursued by 15 EU countries before and after the launch of the EMU. We employ econometric estimation of the augmented Taylor rule (TR) for individual 15 EU countries and the Euro area. Although a vast empirical evidence is available for the major economies like the US, the UK or Germany, there is an important gap in our understanding of the factors behind the short-term interest rate dynamics in smaller economies. We find that in the period preceding the euro adoption, the TR is a poor representation of monetary policy setting in most EU countries and that many central banks considered decisions made by dominant economies rather than their domestic macroeconomic developments. The analysis of monetary policy rule of the ECB features additional problems related to the heterogeneity of the EMU. We argue that results based on Euro-area aggregated series, commonly presented in empirical studies, are subject to diverse econometric problems. We provide some evidence that the ECB is concerned also with national information and propose quasi-panel analysis as a viable framework. Essay III explores the relation between the existing monetary policy and domestic price stability in small open emerging economies, in particular the 12 EU new member states. This work has three principal objectives. First, it aims at revealing the logic of interest rate setting pursued by monetary authority of each country. The linear specification of the Taylor rule, applied already in the Essay II, is accompanied by an extensive analysis of nonlinearities in monetary policy rules and the inference on their possible sources. We find that the official monetary policy is sometimes inconsistent with the empirical evidence on the short term interest rate setting. The second objective consists in revealing the determinants of the inflation process. We have found that inflation rates are driven not only by backward persistency but also by the forward-looking component. Third, we employ analysis of the conditional inflation variance so as to give account on the viability of the existing monetary policy setting for price stability. We conclude that the policy of inflation targeting seems to be preferable to exchange rate peg because it allows decreasing not only inflation rate but also its conditional variance. Essay IV seeks to shed light on inflation dynamics of four CEEC (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia) and test when the predominant model of inflation, the New Keynesian Philips Curve (NKPC), is consistent with the data of these countries. According to the microfounded NKPC, the current inflation is related to inflation expectations and the real marginal cost. The empirical validity of this model has recently become a subject of major controversy in the monetary economics. Although we find some favorable evidence for the NKPC, it seems to be too restrictive model for small open economies. In particular, the failure of the NKPC to explain the inflation dynamics of these countries may be related to the assumption that inflation is related to forward-looking price setting of domestic monopolist firms while our evidence suggests that prices in CEEC have an important backward-looking component and the inflation is significantly driven by external factors like the exchange rate and the foreign inflation rate.
