Relationships among children in kindergarten and the possibilities of their cultivation

ANNOTATION: This thesis is focused on development of relationships among preschool-age children, especially towards other children of the same age. It is based on the Framework Educational Programme for Preschool Education and its conception of support and development of social relationships within the preschool education. In this thesis are opinions regarding child's friendships and development of children's social needs. It defines a teacher's role in development of quality relationships among children in kindergartens. The practical part is formed by an action research focusing on support of relationships in a selected classroom in a kindergarten. It is supplemented with a survey among teachers of kindergartens in the Karlovy Vary Region. Another starting point is an observation of selected group of children. On its basis a programme for support of relationships within the selected group was created. The programme was implemented and subsequently evaluated. At the end of the summary there is an evaluation of overall findings.

Transformation of child and childhood

In the content of the dissertation we aim to think of the question if the changes in educational system do influenece the point of view on a child, childhood and child itself. The theoretical part is focused on the research of special, historical and present documents, concerning institutional children education. The practical part examines the subjective opinion of parental public. Subsequently, thanks to the controlled dialog between the teacher and the children, it provides interests and feelings of contemporary children in nursery schools. In conclusion,from the gained information in theoretical part, we would like to determin the elements which have probably influenced the child opinion changes and it's approach. Due to the obtained information analysis and the subjective parental and children opinion comparison, we tried to answer the question how the nowadays children differ from their parents' and grandparents' generation.

What forms the image of nursery school in the eyes of parents

The choice of a nursery school is a first life step into the society. A daily schedule, age composition of educationalists, size of the facility or reachability from home are some of many criteria influencing parent's choice of the nursery school for their child. The diploma thesis "What forms the image of nursery school in the eyes of parents" describes and characterizes individual elements of image in connection with the preschool institution during particular time period and shows first moments before entering nursery school. The practical part is focused on nursery school choice criteria, parental expectations about the nursery schools and their view of the preschool education but also educationalists' opinion about the image. Sample of selected nursery schools is characterized in the thesis together with detailed data analysis and evaluation. The conclusion of thesis contains overall summary of all gained data and knowledge which can be used for suggestions of nursery school image creation.

European schools

European Schools are educational establishments in some European Union countries, providing the children of employees of the European institutions a multilingual and multicultural education in nursery, primary and secondary levels. Due to the multiculturalism, for the successful functioning and management of the system, it is necessary to find compromises. It is on a similar principle that the new curriculum of Early Education in European schools - Early Education Curriculum is based. The first part of my work is the presentation of the European Schools system (its history, principles, structure, functioning) and of the Early Education Curriculum. The aim of the next section is to compare this Curriculum and the Czech Framework Education Programme for Early Education, seeking for mutual inspiration and ideas in both systems. This is a theoretical and analytical comparison of the documents with a deeper focus on cooperation with parents, transition between nursery and primary school, and evaluation methods. Several videos, interviews and responses to the questionnaire answered by the teachers in the European Schools illustrate the application of the the Curriculum in the practice of the European Schools, particularly in the monitored areas.
