Gestalt approach and its use in education

The main goal of this work is to provide information for readers (mainly from "teachers field") about possibility of using Gestalt therapy in education and to inspire reader to use the Gestalt approach mainly to improve relationship in classrooms as well as for using this approach for growth of their own personality. First chapter is focused on theoretical basics of Gestalt therapy, on its history and background and on Gestalt cycle. This part is strictly theoretic, but necessary for understanding of perception of Gestalt approach. At the end of the first chapter there is a list of actual usage of Gestalt therapy. Second chapter is written more practically, divided into areas the Gestalt approach can be used in - cognitive, social and personal field. Conceptions like learning, intelligent and motivation are described briefly, large part of the chapter is dedicated to relationships in classrooms and school climate. This part is also supplied by many techniques ("games") which might be used in classroom. The other large part is focused on teacher as a personality, his education and his support during career. The possibilities of using child's drawing as one of the diagnostic techniques in pedagogical work with abused children

The aim of this diploma work is to provide teachers and other pedagogical staff with the summary of recommendations for dealing with the child's drawing as one of the diagnostic techniques which enables detection of the fact that the child is being abused or neglect. The theoretical part deals with syndrome CAN and child's drawing as one of the projective techniques. The empirical part of this diploma work includes the sample usage of child's drawing as the diagnostic technique when dealing with child being abused and neglect. The results of the self-constructed questionnaire provide with the information concerning the possibilities of using child's drawing as the diagnostic technique when dealing with child being abused and neglect. The questionnaires were filled in by the teachers of primary schools in Středočeský region. In connection with this fact I created the summary of recommendations regarding the possibilities of using of child's drawing as one of the diagnostic techniques for detection of the child being abused or neglect. The recommendations were proposed mainly for the teachers of other pedagogical staff .

Development of verbal abilities and social family background

Text diplomové práce je zaměřen na téma rozvoje verbálních schopností v souvislosti se sociokulturním prostředím rodiny. Práce obsahuje teoretické poznatky z dané problematiky a empirické šetření verbálních schopností žáků konkrétní třídy a jejich rodinného prostředí. V úvodní teoretické části jsou vymezeny pojmy jazyk, jazykový kód a komuníkace, včetně charakteristických znaků. V práci je zmíněna podstata a funkce rodiny, dále Bernsteinova teorie jazykového kódu, která hovoří o vztahu mezi sociálním původem žáků, rozvinutosti jejich jazyka a školní úspěšností. V empirické části je zjišťována úroveň verbálních schopností žáků sledovaného vzorku .. Výzkum upozornil na rozvoj verbálních schopností ve vztahu k sociokulturnímu prostředí rodin. Šetřena byla především vzdělanostní úroveň rodičů, kulturní bohatství rodin, volný čas rodinných příslušníků, pozornost byla věnována také jejich sportovním a kulturním aktivitám.

The Bilingual Child and His Personal Development in the Czech School System is an academic paper conceming the educational and psychological aspects of the bilingual children education and development. The first part looks at three main themes - the language, thinking and identity development of the bilingual child. The second part describes the results of a small research on the advantages or possible disadvantages of bilingualism for a child attending a Czech elementary school.

The life in a religious sect and its Influence on the child's personality

V dnešním světě plném protikladů a názorového pluralismu zřejmě nikoho příliš nepřekvapí ani náboženská roztříštěnost. Existence všudypřítomného vlivu křesťanství či islámu se zdá být již minulostí - pokud jsme ochotni pro tento okamžik pominout celosvětově rozšířené politické zneužívání těchto velkých náboženství, které je dnes na denním pořádku a tyto náboženské proudy pomalu ale jistě diskredituje. Ztráta pevných pravidel, zastřešujících život člověka ještě na začátku 20. století, obrovský technologický rozvoj a dvě války světového dopadu - to vše jsou vlivy, které postupně způsobily vznik jakéhosi náboženského a tím i existenčního vakua. Toto náhlé prázdno bylo něčím zcela novým pro celé masy lidí. Postupy, jakými se lidé s tímto nepříjemným pocitem vyrovnávali, byly rozmanité. Jako výstižný příklad může posloužit rozšířené hnutí hippies s celou svou kulturní základnou, dále americká beat generation a mnohá další hnutí, jež měla podstatný vliv na životní styl i podobu umění. Nejobecnější filosofií těchto hnutí byla obvykle kritika stávajících poměrů a nevídaná otevřenost vůči různorodým oblastem zájmu - světu orientálních nauk, rozvíjející se psychoterapii (zejména té skupinové), esoterickým - do té doby v podstatě neznámým naukám, ekologii a alternativám životního stylu, velký zájem byl věnován i...

Educational Simulation in Task Situations (A survey focusing on the aspects of acceptance, interactivity, and authenticity)

The dissertation 'Educational Simulation in Task Situations' is focused on a new medium - educational simulation, which is starting to establish itself in the field of education. This work is examining educational simulations from three different points of view: 1) the acceptance of educational simulations in the school environment, 2) the interactivity of learning material, and 3) the authenticity of learning material. The experimental results are divided into three separate chapters according to the respective viewpoint. The investigation focused on acceptance in the first chapter draws from the evaluation of 34 Czech teachers and more than 1000 students, who both evaluated the benefits and shortcomings of particular educational simulations that were used by the teachers and their students. The experiment on interactivity (N = 152) in the second chapter is focused on the experimental comparison of learning material with activated interactive features and learning material with deactivated features. The third experiment on authenticity (N = 48) compares teaching material using authentic media sequences and the same material converted into an animated form. Metacognition as a primary and secondary education competence

Cílem mé práce bylo posoudit, zda mezi kompetence žáka základní školy patří metakognice. Ve školní praxi rozeznáváme dvě úrovně kognitivních procesů, nižší a vyšší. Nižší úroveň souvisí se školním vyučováním a tvoří předstupeň vyšších poznávacích kategorií. Se snižováním vázanosti na školní vyučování se rozvíjí druhá úroveň kognitivních funkcí. Dítě, které je schopno naplnit i prvky vyšší kognitivní úrovně, je schopno metakognitivního uvažování - řídí, plánuje a kontroluje svou činnost. Nejdostupnější didaktická pomůcka, která může pomoci v rozvoji vyšší kognitivní úrovně, je učebnice. V empirické části jsem se věnovala obsahové analýze učebních úloh učebnic. Vyhledávala jsem takové učební úlohy, které přispívají k rozvoji kognitivních a metakognitivních procesů. Výzkum potvrdil, že učebnice takové úlohy obsahují. Jsou v nich ale zastoupeny učební úlohy, které rozvíjí spíše kognitivní procesy první úrovně než kognitivní procesy druhé úrovně, které korespondují se schopností metakognice.
