Surface treatment of selected steels using electron beam
Oríšek, Petr ; Jan, Vít (referee) ; Kouřil, Miloslav (advisor)
The thesis aims for the surface treatment of materials using electron beam. It includes a literary research describing physical principle and properties of the electron beam. This research also presents possible influencing of the beam and describes the construction of the device that generates the beam. Various applications of the electron beam for the material treatment are presented in the second part of the paper. Within this thesis an experiment with the heat treatment of the steel surface by the electron beam has been realized. The experiment was aimed at creating a layer as deep as possible without melting the surface. The results and their evaluation are presented in the experimental part of the thesis. The attention is also paid to selected process parameters.
Structure and properties of electron beam penetration produced in steel AMS 5659
Říčan, Daniel ; Foret, Rudolf (referee) ; Kouřil, Miloslav (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the electron beam welding of the AMS 5659 steel used in industry for special hydraulic cylinders (Fig. 1). A theoretical analysis of electron beam welding and analysis of the influence of selected welding parameters on penetration characteristics are in the first part of the thesis. The second part contains an evaluation of the implemented experimental penetrations on samples of the steel in the hardened condition H1025 and after solution heat. It was also done a properties assessment of the same samples that were been hardened again. The light microscopy (SM), the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and the measurement method of hardness according to Vickers were used for evaluation and comparison of the steel properties in the region of penetration and the heat affected zones properties.

Rensa, Pavel ; Šošovička, Róbert (referee) ; Kouřil, Martin (advisor)
ploma thesis deals with design of a four-seat sport aircraft for basic training, tourist flying and glider towing, which can be used in aeroclubs and by private owners. The objective of this thesis was to design the outer shapes of the aircraft, compute the basic aerodynamic characteristics and performance, design of structural and aerodynamic layout of the wing and design of flap system with governing.
Methodology of electrolytic metal cleaning methods using an electrolyte based on modified gels
Rapouch, Karel ; Hájková, Kateřina ; Selucká, Alena ; Perlík, Dušan ; Kouřil, Milan
The methodology aims to provide simple instructions for conservators-restorers on how to set suitable conditions for local and gentle cleaning of corrosion products of silver and copper, in order to avoid mechanical damage to the surface of the object and influence of surrounding (especially organic) materials in the case of multi-material objects of a cultural heritage. As part of the methodology, various gels were studied in terms of their physico-chemical properties and their compatibility with chemicals from which an electrolyte can be prepared for the electrolytic cleaning of metal surfaces. Artificially patinated samples and selected real objects were used for the experiments. Furthermore, the possibility of using gel electrolytes for the study of corrosion products by the method of polarization measurements was investigated. The methodology can be applied not only in the improvement of procedures for the treatment of museum collection items, but also in the field of processing archaeological finds or in teaching conservation-restoration students and other related fields of cultural heritage care.

Kouřil, M. ; Boháčková, T. ; Švadlena, J. ; Prošek, T. ; Strachotová, K. Ch. ; Kreislová, K. ; Fialová, P. ; Majtás, Dušan
The aim of the methodology is to specify the procedures for determining the corrosion aggressiveness of internal atmospheres for the area of historic preservation, especially in objects with an increased risk of volatile occurrence\norganic substances, which can endanger metal and other objects with their corrosive aggressiveness cultural and historical value. Target locations are, for example, archives, libraries, exhibition spaces and depositories of museums and churches and target objects of lead seals, organ pipes containing lead, stained glass windows, tin-lead dishes, technical monuments with lead solders, printing letters, etc.
Metodika klasifikace korozní agresivity vnitřních prostředí znečištěných těkavými organickými kyselinami

Corrosion of metal historical artefacts by volatile organic acids (VOA) is common in indoor atmospheres where VOA sources are present and where insufficient measures are taken to eliminate the aggressive effects of these substances on metals. The procedure for determining the corrosion aggressiveness of indoor atmospheres towards metals is defined in three parts of the standard EN ISO 11844 'Corrosion of metals and alloys - Classification of indoor atmospheres with low corrosion aggressivity'. The corrosion aggressivity classes (IC1 to IC5) are based, among others, on the determination of the mass loss of corrosion coupons of silver, copper, steel, zinc and lead. Lead was included in the first part of EN ISO 11844-1 in 2021, based on the results of the NAKI II project "Methodology for the classification of corrosion aggressiveness of indoor environments for lead alloy collectors" (DG18P02OVV050), as a metal specifically sensitive to the presence of volatile organic acids. The aim of the methodology is to specify the procedures for determining the corrosion aggressivity of indoor atmospheres for the field of conservation, especially in objects with a higher risk of the presence of volatile organic compounds, which can threaten metallic monuments by their corrosion aggressivity. Thus, target locations are, for example, archives, libraries, exhibition spaces and depositories of museums and churches, and target objects are lead seals, organ pipes containing lead, stained glass, pewter utensils, etc. The sources of VOCs include a range of materials that make up common furnishings in indoor environments - wood paneling and ceilings, furniture, cabinets, display cases, as well as other items on display or stored.

Klasifikace korozního poškození historického olova a systém prostředků pro jeho konzervaci
Kouřil, Milan ; Ďurovič, Michal ; Bartl, Benjamin ; Strachotová, Kristýna Charlotte ; Msallamová, Šárka
Mnohé muzejní a archivní instituce se v současnosti potkávají s problematikou koroze olověných sbírkových předmětů, uložených v depozitářích, způsobenou citlivostí olova vůči těkavým organickým sloučeninám (VOC), zejména vůči kyselině octové. Zvláštní skupinou těchto olověných předmětů jsou olověné buly (kovové pečeti), které bývají obvykle připojeny k pergamenovým listinám pomocí textilního závěsného materiálu. Metodika zavádí systém kategorizace korozního poškození olověných pečetí a hodnocení podmínek jejich uložení a navrhuje postupy konzervačních opatření vhodné pro možné varianty výsledky průzkumu stavu pečetí a expozičních podmínek. Navržené konzervační postupy jsou založeny především na eliminaci agresivních složek prostředí volbou vhodných obalových materiálů a použitím sorbentů.
