Nursing care of the patient in terminal stage
Assisted reproduction in dogs
Kopecká, Iveta ; Tůmová, Lenka (advisor) ; Šimoník, Ondřej (referee)
The dog is among the largest and longest man domesticated beast and holds in his life indispensable place. To preserve the species is a precondition for its ability to reproduce. To increase the success rate of reproduction contribute in recent decades and methods of assisted reproduction. Among the most common methods of assisted reproduction in dogs include artificial insemination. This can be done in several ways depending on the site deposit seed in genital tract of female (intravaginal, transcervical intrauterine, intratubular insemination). It can be carried out using native, chilled or frozen semen. Insemination process itself affects the success of pregnancy rates. Generally, that is the most successful design insemination with fresh semen intratubular. Another method is assisted reproduction in vitro oocyte fertilization and subsequent embryo transfer. The success of this method is dependent on many factors, among which include the sampling of gametes method of storage, the composition of culture media, mechanisms regulating nuclear oocyte maturation and others. It is evident that the need of further research, leading to the understanding of the molecular mechanisms that control oocyte maturation and embryonic development in dogs. A relatively new method of reproductive biotechnology is somatic cell nuclear transfer into an oocyte depleted own genetic information called cloning. This technology does not achieve major success so far. Methods of assisted reproduction in dogs hinders overall physiology of the reproductive system, but also more difficult method of obtaining oocytes and embryos, and then find the appropriate recipient. The key seems to be to find a more suitable solution for long term storage of gametes. Achieving successful freezing of sperm and oocyte cryopreservation would lead to greater use of reproductive technologies. Studies on assisted reproduction in dogs are among other things contributing to overall understand of reproductive mechanisms. Acquired knowledge may enable the conservation of valuable dog genotypes in vitro.
The adsorption of low-MW algal organic matter on granular activated carbon
Čermáková, Lenka ; Pivokonská, Lenka ; Kopecká, Ivana ; Pivokonský, Martin ; Janda, V.
This study deals with the adsorption of algal organic matter (AOM) onto granular activated carbon (GAC) with a special focus on compounds with low molecular weight (MW). These were isolated from cellular matter of cyanobacterium Microcystis aeruginosa. Two different types of GAC were used for the experiments (Picabiol 12x40 and Filtrasorb TL 830) and the influence of pH and ionic strength on the adsorption efficacy of the low-MW AOM was investigated.
Vulnerability assesment and preventive measures of cultural heritage against flooding
Nedvědová, Klára ; Frankl, Jiří ; Balík, L. ; Šimůnek, O. ; Herbstová, Vladislava ; Kopecká, I. ; Pergl, R. ; Drdácký, Tomáš
One of the preconditions for successful planning is to estimate the risk of flood damage with regard to the construction resilience and constituent materials of historical objects. The output of this phase is software application and methodology for classifying the rate risk of specific constructions and materials and a reasonable estimate of risk diversification in different parts of the building. A special attention is paid to prevention and it tends to recommend suitable measures for different situations.

The use of intercultural training for VŠE exchange students before leaving the university to study abroad
Kopecká, Ina ; Lukeš, Martin (advisor) ; Nový, Ivan (referee)
The goal of the thesis "The use of intercultural training for VŠE exchange students before leaving the university to study abroad" are: -to capture and to evaluate the change of student's personal characteristics after the arrival from abroad such as language skills, international experience, peer and family relationships and simplicity of establishment of relations - to create a suitable tool for evaluation of intercultural competence of VŠE exchange students who are interested in studying abroad -to bring useful information or to make a structure of intercultural training, which VŠE in the future could use to prepare students for study abroad - to compare two forms of intercultural training: an information meeting, which took place at VŠE with personal participation of students and electronic presentation without personal participation - to create a profile of VŠE students who are interested in studying abroad
