Readiness of Children to Start School in Cesky Brod Region

The diploma thesis concerns with the school readiness issue in region Cesky Brod. High number of children with compulsory school attendance postponement resists these days, which the government decided to solve with compulsory preprimary year implementation. When framework education programs came into force, schools drew up their own school education programs. The basis, with which they enter the school, diversified. The goal of the thesis is to determine the areas in which most children had problems during the first grade enrollments in Cesky Brod region. The readiness of children to enter school is studied also from the parents' and the teachers' point of view and their points of view are compared. The research combines three methods - observation, questionnaire and case history. For the research during the first grades enrollments the observation was chosen. On the basis of the theory the areas for observation were determined and assessed according to the chosen assessment criteria. The points of view of the parents and teachers were examined in the questionnaire. Developing of pupils' competence to cooperate

The aim of this thesis is to describe and explain the factors which affect formation and development of pupils' competence to cooperate across all grades of lower primary school. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part describes various factors which affect pupils' competence to cooperate - on the side of pupil and teacher. The practical part contains the results of research that explains how teacher builds and develops the pupil's competence to cooperate in each grade of lower primary school, which style of teaching supports development of this competence and also how is this competence affected by pupils' developmental prerequisites. This thesis contributes to creation of comprehensive knowledge about the development and building pupils' competence to cooperate and it is supported by examples from pedagogical practise. Applied theory of inclusive education in primary schools with focus on students with specific learning disabilities

The aim of my thesis is to analyze various aspects of the inclusive teaching concept within the first stages of elementary education and how such aspects may be applied. The work is divided into two main parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is further divided into five main chapters. The first chapter covers the topic of how all students can be included in the elementary education system. The second chapter discusses the key components of how the theory can be implemented and successfully applied to individuals in order to help students achieve their educational goals. The third chapter focuses on topics of special needs education, learning and behavioral disorders. The fourth chapter discusses the necessary role parents and guardians should take in this process. A summary of theoretical part is provided in the fifth chapter. The practical part of the thesis is also divided into four chapters, each of which is numbered and connected to the theoretical part. The thesis concerns the problem how to integrate children coming from different cultures into educational process in junior elementary schools. It tries to explain causes of possibly originated misunderstanding and following conflicts in communication between individuals of various nationalities or diverse religions, then to mark out concepts referring to integration of minority pupils and to record eventual educator's attitude to cultural differences. Based on conclusions of action research, carried on in primary schools among pupils in the first and fifth grade who participate in an educational programme called "Start together", it wants to analyse the usage of the cross-sectional module of multicultural education included in several school subjects and it registers its asset to the development of pupil's key-competences in the teaching process. Cooperation between Parents and Schools

This graduation work deals with the collaboration of the school and family backgrounds. It surveys the present situation of the parent-teacher relation. It discusses the family as a primary social group, adverts to a social status in the Czech Republic. It inquires also into this relation and the collaboration in the Step by Step Programme, as one of the representative inovation model, which proposes concrete suggestions, how to realize the real effective collaboration. The graduation work verifies in practice which is the difference concerning the collaboration between the school and family at the common school and at the Step by Step school as well. At the end this work summarizes the present situation and show the possible strategies and ways, how to enlarge and develop the relation between the educators and parents. Cooperative Teaching and Instruction in Primary School

The main theme of my thesis is cooperative teaching at primary school with respect to 1st class of elementary school. There is the theoretical part which contains the key ideas, changes in the internal structure of educational system, history, strategy and other aspects related to work in groups and cooperative learning. The practical part concentrates on mapping of situation and sense of cooperation and their change during the school year at primary school. In my research I analyze and give a description of concrete methods and practices of cooperative teaching in 1st class of elementary school and their contribution for progress of cooperative and social skills of pupils. Diploma thesis Utilization of weekly diary for developing personal competences of primary school pupils deals with strategies of development of pupils' social and personal competences, namely with fulfilling the chosen goals of personal and social education in primary school. The theoretic part of my thesis proves the meaning of the goals of personal and social education and lists the possibilities of their realisation in primary school. The thesis is farther concerned with the development of the key competences with the help of personal and social education and its methods. I concentrate on the meaning of the individualisation in pupils' education and the means of the development of reflective skills in a heterogenous class. The empirical part is an teacher's action research in its character. It presents a description of an authentically created process of the introduction of Weekly diary method to the work of primary school pupils'. V životě každého člověka se vyskytne mnoho cest, kterými se může dát. Každý z nás si vybírá svou cestu, pro sebe nejschůdnější, podle svého naturelu a v kontextu nastávajících životních situací, a také podle toho, jací lidé nás obklopují. Všichni máme rodiče, příbuzné, přátele, kamarády, známé, spolužáky, spolupracovníky, idoly, vzory, učitele... Tito lidé nás zároveň nějakým způsobem ovlivňují. Setkávání snimi nás mění, ale určitě mění i ty druhé. Ovlivňujeme se tedy navzájem. Každý člověk je naprosto neopakovatelná osobnost, ke které nikde na světě neexistuje identický duplikát. Na svých cestách tedy můžeme potkat mnoho lidí a máme tu jedinečnou možnost se od sebe navzájem mnohému naučit. Jak už jsem se zmínila, setkání s lidmi nás mění. The Romany Assistant Teacher

Motivem pro výběr tohoto tématu byla má praxe na Základní škole Na Korábě, Praha 8 - Libni, kde jsem začala již při studiu, před více než pěti lety, pracovat a s romskými dětmi se každodenně setkávám. Vzdělávání romských žáků se stává velmi často diskutovaným problémem, který je velice závažný a neměl by spadat mezi problémy neřešené a neřešitelné. Východiskem z této zdánlivě neřešitelné situace může být vytvoření vhodných podmínek ke vzdělávání romských dětí neméně důležitá je i spolupráce rodičů s institucí školy a tím výrazně přispívá i funkce asistenta pedagoga. Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na zmapování faktorů, které jsou příčinami nízké úrovně vzdělanosti romských dětí, na zjišťování možností a způsobů nápravy a cest, jak romským dětem pomoci v jejich cestě za vzděláním s využitím asistenta pedagoga. Jádrem problému vzdělávání romských dětí je určitě vztah romské rodiny ke škole. Předsudky a negativní zkušenost na straně majority i romské minority jsou zdrojem vzájemné nedůvěry, která mnohdy poznamenává i sociální komunikaci na půdě školy. Je to hlavně proto, že škola je ze strany romské rodiny často vnímána jako naprostá cizí instituce. Romské dítě, které nastupuje školní docházku, zpravidla nemá ke škole předem vytvořený pozitivní vztah, který dítěti usnadňuje adaptaci a který se snaží navodit...

V prvé řadě musím říci, že všechny rozhovory pro mne byly velice zajímavé a setkání s lidmi, kteří se věnují problematice vzdělávání a výchovy romských dětí mne velice obohatila. Překvapilo mne, v kolika otázkách se mí respondenti až na malé nuance shodovali. Z toho důvodu považuji za oprávněné konstatovat, že celá řada jejich tvrzení má obecnou platnost a bylo by tedy třeba k nim přistupovat jako ke skutečnostem, od kterých by se měla odvíjet další práce s romskými dětmi i jejich rodiči.
