Jarošová, Helena ; Zuska, Vlastimil (advisor) ; Marcelli, Miroslav (referee) ; Stibral, Karel (referee)
Title: Aesthetics as a norm of life Author: PhDr. Helena Jarošová Department of Aesthetics Supervisor: Prof. PhDr. Vlastimil Zuska, CSc. The thesis focuses on body (corporeality), things and private (home) interior as the exemplary areas of a contemporary aesthetics of life. In the thesis, I do consider this relatively autonomous domain of general aesthetics (a field of aesthetic function outside art, according to Mukařovský), or more precisely a sphere of growing influence of all-embracing aestheticization of the world (G. Lipovetsky) not only as a phenomenon, with which we have to deal today, but as a much older process, the roots of which can be traced back at least two centuries to the past. In this subject matter I especially emphasize primary and derived relations of this kind of aestheticization to a public space, i.e. an aesthetic function that originally only supports the main function of a given thing or event can eventually become dominant and independent and finally influence the very domain from which it originated (e.g. female decorative make-up used to be, historically, an accompanying effect of male dominance in the society, later it became a mean of female emancipation or of an individually designed style of life). I also pay attention to a phenomenology of an aesthetic experience;...

The aim of the thesis is to present a comprehensive overview of early video art with emphasis on its artistic and aesthetic properties. The thesis does not merely rest on valid scholarly theories - it also analyzes specific art pieces which are documented in an extensive graphic appendix.
The aesthetic stage of life in the concept of Søren Kierkegaard
Kalusová, Martina ; Ševčík, Miloš (advisor) ; Jarošová, Helena (referee)
I will deal with Kierkegaard's aesthetic concepts in my thesis. I introduce the basic concepts of Kierkegaard's philosophy and I focus on the concept of the three life stages, namely stage aesthetic, ethical and religious. After the performance characteristics of these stages, their differences, relationships and hierarchies I focus on the aesthetic stage in the main part of my work. In Kierkegaard's concept it represents the lowest possibility of human life, connected with pleasure and domination of emotions. I examine the modalities of aesthetic existence, its tendencies and inner tensions which ultimately can lead a man to leave this level of existence in my work. My work is descriptive character, its aim is to bring Kierkegaard's concept of three life stages, their diversity should be further investigated. I'm concerned about the summary of terms that Kierkegaard's philosophy and approach uses his whole concept. The aim of this work is to define the details of the stage and show their interdependence and the need for each of them. Key words stage of life, aesthetics, existentialism, Kierkegaard

Key words: dance - body - corporeality - dance aesthetics - aesthetic experience - phenomenology - Maxine Sheets-Johnstone - contemporary dance Abstact: Dance's various forms and appearances are connected through one universal aspect - the presence of corporeality as represented by the moving human body. The role and the experience of body is essential for the description of dance even in its aesthetical and philosophical interpretation. First of all, this diploma theses aims to map the field of aesthetics and philosophy of dance from wider historical perspective and consequently to find support in dance basic division and its connected experiences in practice of inner ecstatic immersion. Furthermore, the focus is also given to the type of experience that is subordinated to visual effect of dance. This foundation is further elaborated in second part of this thesis, which discusses dance experience in its aesthetic dimension through context of phenomenological philosophy in thinking of Maxine Sheets-Johnstone. This concept of dance reveals other important qualities in dance as an art. In addition, it shows one of novel approaches to corporeality in the aesthetic experience of dance, which could built on the dichotomous differentiation of the dance experience and open new perspectives on the aesthetic...

The Entry "Fashion" in Czech Encyklopedias
Schambergerová, Lucie ; Hlobil, Tomáš (advisor) ; Jarošová, Helena (referee)
The thesis "Entry "Fashion" in Czech Encyclopedias" analyses an evolution of aesthetic viewpoint of the entry "fashion" since its first appearance (the first Encyclopedia in Czech language from 1866) until recently (the Entry Fashion in 2001). The thesis research method is based on Jan Mukařovský's theory of function, value and norm of the aesthetics and his commentaries on fashion, which I made a subset to my own term aesthetic viewpoint. For better orientation I first decided to summarize particular analyses of each entry into a spreadsheet which makes development, way of characterisation and terminological variability of aesthetic viewpoint apparent in a more complete way. The main goal is to answer the following reasearch questions: 1. Do authors distinguish between fashion as a norm and fashion as a form of clothing? 2. Which terms are being used to thematize the aesthetic viewpoint? 3. What is the context of the aesthetic viewpoint of fashion?
South Bohemian sacral architecture of the late Gothic 1450 - 1550 in the Rosenberg domain
Lavička, Roman ; Kuthan, Jiří (advisor) ; Jarošová, Helena (referee) ; Benešovská, Klára (referee)
South Bohemian sacral architecture of the late Gothic1450 - 1550 in the Rosenberg domain Mgr. Roman Lavička A group of late-Gothic churches, which keeps attracting our attention, was built in the Rosenberg domain during the reign of the Jagiellon dynasty. Limited archival material, results of dendrochronologic analyses and preserved buildings suggest that it was mainly building maintenance that was in progress in the Rosenberg domain in the second half of the 15th century. In the early 1480s the building of the new pilgrimage church in Kájov (1471/1474- 1485) was coming to its end. And it was only then that big town parish churches in Trhové Sviny, Dolní Dvořiště, Hořice na Šumavě, Chvalšiny and Nové Hrady started being rebuild or constructed anew almost simultaneously. Around 1485 almost twenty religious buildings were being built in the Rosenberg domain. They reflect the increasing economic prosperity and self-confidence of the town and village municipalities, corporations as well as individuals manifesting their wealth, success and strength. From a formal and ideological point of view it is possible to trace down a group of related buildings directly in this initial phase. They were probably designed by a single architect who is referred to as Master of Hořice presbytery. However, around 1495 we can...
