Pilgrimage to the myth of place and J.S. Machar

V následujících řádcích se zaměříme na žánrový statut literárního zpracování cesty - cestopisu, a to se zvláštním zřetelem ke zpracování cesty do Itálie v české literatuře. Klademe si otázku, čím je toto literární zpracování specifické jakožto žánr či podžánr a jaké jsou určující rysy poetiky takového cestopisu. Z této práce by mělo vyvstat komplexní panorama žánru, prozkoumaného z různých úhlů pohledu. Svou práci pojímáme především jako teoretickou, ale pro připojujeme k ní i vzorový rozbor jednoho díla české literatury 20. století, jež je podle nás typickým představitelem žánru, jejž zkoumáme: Řím Josefa Svatopluka Machara (1906). Metodologicky vycházíme z prací inspirovaných strukturalismem a historickou poetikou, nevyhýbáme se však ani novější literatuře naratologické.

The life and works of J.S. Machar between 1914-1942

Tato práce, vznikající postupně v průběhu posledních pěti let, byla iniciována snahou přispět co největší možnou měrou k osvětlení a zmapování života a díla českého básníka a fejetonisty Josefa Svatopluka Machara. Na toto téma bylo pochopitelně napsáno několik více či méně povedených monografických knih již v minulosti. Jmenujme například studie V. Martínka Josef Svatopluk Machar (1912), Z. Pešata Josef Svatopluk Machar básník (1959), F. Soldana Josef Svatopluk Machar (1974) nebo stať B. Svozila uveřejněnou v jeho macharovském výboru Pravdy znak (1982). Vzhledem k tomu však, že všechny zmíněné monografie zachycují takřka výhradně básníkovo předválečné období a vyhýbají se jeho životu ve 20. a 30. letech 20. století, stejně tak jako opomíjejí jeho tvorbu z této doby (nebo vše shrnují na pouhých několika stránkách), bude úkolem této práce podat co nejucelenější a nejpodrobnější pramenný materiál k poznání Macharovy poválečné tvorby a zároveň jeho života v dotčených letech, neboť právě v souvislosti s tímto obdobím je básníkův obraz nejčastěji pokřivován tradovanými omyly, nepravdami a zjednodušujícími frázovitými formulkami, a to jak v ústním podání, tak mnohdy i na stránkách učebnic literatury.

The topic of this diploma thesis is the development of the character of vampire and its portrayal in literature for children and youth. The thesis focuses on the analysis of five literary works for children and youth written in German language, which portrays the character of a vampire as a main protagonist and its many changes and development. The analysed works are Der kleine Vampir by Angela Sommer-Bodenburg, Das Vamperl by Renate Welsch, Der Spinat Vampir by Gudrun Pausenwang, Pozor, přilétá Molly! by Dagmar H. Mueller a Drákula a já by Andreas Schlütera. The main aim of this thesis is to answer the question of the type of transformation has the character of vampire undergone in the literature for children and youth. Its main goal is not to fully cover all available works in the genre, but to choose the most representative ones which show the different features. The analysis of the change is based on the characteristic of the characters and its goal is to show us the development of the character in contrast to the traditional vampire character. B. Yavorsky and his contribution to interpretation of J.S. Bach's WTC

The aim of this Bachelor’s Thesis is to introduce Yavorsky’s conception of interpretation of Johann Sebastian Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier (WTC) and on the basis of this theory to perform an analysis of the Prelude and Fugue cis-moll from WTC II. According to Yavorsky, music of WTC is not just pure and beautiful music in itself, but it has also deep spiritual content. The theory of Yavorsky is focused on the analysis of WTC in the connection with biblical themes; it looks for the parallels between single preludes and fugues and protestant chorals and discusses WTC's musical speech as a speech of symbols.
The analysis of the Prelude and Fugue cis-moll was performed on the basis of Yavorsky‘s theory as well as from the point of view of the performer and his intuitive feelings. This Analysis contributes to confirmation of usefulness of Yavorsky’s theory and gives opportunity to show, how Yavorsky’s theory could be used in the interpretation of Bach’s works.
To both performers and teachers the presented thesis could give practical directions, which could help to reveal the way of Bach’s musical thinking.

The possibilities of progress in school learning process

Hlavním tématem této práce jsou možnosti, jak rozvíjet školní učení. Průběh učení při běžném vyučování ve školách je nutno zefektivnit, aby bylo možné dosáhnout všech cílů tak, jak si je vytyčil Rámcový vzdělávací program pro základní vzdělávání.1 Rámcový vzdělávací program s sebou přináší kromě mnoha kladů i některé problémy, které by měli učitelé zohlednit ve svém pojetí výuky a vzdělání jako takového. Často si nevědí rady, jak některé části zakomponovat do samotné výuky, a proto je vědomě vypustí, aby si nemuseli komplikovat život. Žáci jsou tak ochuzeni o potenciál, který s sebou Rámcový vzdělávací program přináší. První kapitola se orientuje na školní učení, jeho vymezení podle V. Kuliče a teoretická východiska, kterými jsou teorie J. Piageta, J.S. Brunera a L.S. Vygotského. Další kapitola se zaobírá současným trendem, jak řešit problematiku školního rozvoje prostřednictvím kurikulárních změn a apelaci na celoživotní vzdělávání a učení. Ve třetí kapitole vysvětlím klíčové kompetence - co jsou, jaké jsou a proč jsou významné. Následující podkapitola pak představí konkrétní klíčovou kompetenci - kompetenci k učení, která by měla být podle mého mínění cílem rozvoje školního učení. Between Prague and Vienna. Hermann Bahr and J.S. Machar and the spaces of (Central) European Modernism

This thesis deals with the relations between Czech and Viennese literary modernism during the 1890s, key amongst which were the contacts between Hermann Bahr and J. S. Machar. The contextual underpinnings, nature and significance of these relations are analysed in two monograph chapters. Chapter One focuses on the formation and transformation of Bahr's modernist programme as it moved between Berlin, Paris and Vienna, and an analysis is made of the programme keywords (Nervenkunst, Nervenromantik, Überwindung des Naturalismus, die Moderne, das gute Europäertum, Entdeckung der Provinz), which from the early 1890s found a response among Czech critics (e. g. F. Zákrejs, J. S. Machar and F. V. Krejčí). Bahr's conception of Viennese modernism and Austrian culture and the programme of the Die Zeit review were substantially influenced by Parisian experiences of the plurality of artistic production. Chapter Two follows developments in the work of J. S. Machar after he moved from Prague to Vienna in 1889. Machar's experience in Vienna is analysed in texts of various genres (lyric poetry, correspondence, autobiography, polemics and essay writing) and on the basis of his varying literary and intellectual contacts, while attention is paid in particular to his relationship with Jaroslav Vrchlický and T. Jewish New York. Diversity of Jewish immigration waves 1820-1924

Jewish New York today is indisputably the center of the Jewish Diaspora. It is the largest and the richest Jewish community outside of Israel. Already since the beginning of the 201 h century it has had the largest urban Jewish population in the world. Nevertheless, Jewish New York is not only vast, but immensely complex as well. Jews were arriving in various historical immigration waves from different places in the world, each one of them preparing the ground for the next wave. The goal of my M.A. thesis called "Jewish New York. Diversity of the Jewish Immigration Waves 1820- 1924", was to identify the waves of Jewish immigrants that were transforming the city of New York and to describe the way they settled in, adapted and lived in New York. The time span is limited to the century of the mass migration starting in 1820 and ending in 1924 after the immigration restriction legislation was adopted. I was inspired by reading Jewish American authors such as I. B. Singer, Bernard Malamud, Philip Roth or J.S. Foer, particularly in specialized seminar conducted by Hana Ulmanova, PhD., at the Department of English and American Studies. Insufficient provision of services of day care for preschoolers in the CR

The subject of the work, the issue of day care services and education for children in preschool age - older then 3 years in Czech and related issues that fundamentally affect the status and development of the family in society. The research questions are analyzed in the work of the current supply situation of preschool education and children's education, further developments in this area and the practicality of various measures in response to the current system. In this work there are applied the theoretical background to map the social and economic development of Czech society, families with children. In principle, this work is based on the Beck theory, theory of risk, the human capital theory (J.Mincer), the theory of life quality by J.Džuka or theories of social capital by J.S.Coleman. Among the methods that are used in this work include the analysis of actors structuring the objectives in the form of so-called "tree," and defined public policy problem and its causes (effects) incl. graphic processing in the form of so-called "problem tree" analysis of the legal framework, comparative analysis and strategic analysis of relevant documents.
