This thesis deals with the issue of gifted pre-school children. The aim of this work is to identify and describe the socio-emotional characteristics of gifted preschoolers. The theoretical part focuses on general definitions of giftedness and talent, general characteristics of gifted preschoolers and their identifying. It also focuses on the characteristics reported in the literature with a particular emphasis on socio-emotional area. In the empirical part, which uses qualitative methodology, six preschoolers, who were labeled as gifted by their teachers were observed. The main methods included naturalistic observation and structured interviews with teachers of gifted children. Based on my observation I found that some socio-emotional symptoms occured more widely in the observed gifted children. Firstly almost all the observed children held the positions of group leader. They often communicated with authorities more often confidently and without shyness. Most of them had a strong need to inform the teacher about something or to boast about something. Most of the observed children had close friends in the class. For each one of them, a collective game predominates and they divide tasks among their peers or they rebuke them. Pupils' motivation for learning languages at grammar school
Slancová, Lucie ; High, Radka (advisor) ; Urbanová, Denisa (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with students' motivation to study during foreign languages lessons at secondary schools. The thesis consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. The key concepts - motivation itself, approach to motivation and types of motivation, are defined in the theoretical part. The author uses recent scientific literature and articles. The most used titles are work by Hrabal, Man and Pavelková and by Lokšová and Lokša. Both titles use a very intelligible language. The objective of the practical part is to find answers to the research questions: 1. How do the foreign language teachers perceive motivation? 2. How do the teachers motivate their students? The author of the thesis contacted seven teachers of an anonymous secondary school in order to find the answers. The answers were being searched for via semi-structured interviews with these seven teachers. Either qualitative or quantitative methods could be used to analyze the result of the research. This thesis uses qualitative method since the number of the respondents wasn't as important as finding individual understandings of the subject. Collated data were analyzed using open coding of which the subjects answering the research questions arose. As to the first research question, the answer is that the teachers perceive motivation of...

The aim of the presented work is to map the issue of pedagogical practice regarding its importance in the decision-making of future teachers about entering or not entering the profession, evaluate its benefits for students and outline possible changes in undergraduate teacher training. The presented text contains two main parts, namely the theoretical part and the practical part. The theoretical part consists of chapters dealing with the training of future teachers. The first chapter defines the key concepts in the field. The second chapter follows the general characteristics of pedagogical practice as an integral part of the study of teaching. The core of the text then consists of a passage, the content of which is specifically focused on the description of the special importance of the training of future teachers. The design of the research survey in the practical part is based on a qualitative methodology, primarily the use of the method of explanatory case study. Data collection is realized through semi-structured interviews with individual students, where a large amount of data is collected from a few respondents. A thorough examination of a small sample of respondents will help to understand similar cases. Furthermore, the theoretical part defined key terms related to the topic. Terms such as...
