Women's Agency in the Czech Political Catholicism (1896-1939)
Havelka, Jiří ; Nešpor, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Knotková - Čapková, Blanka (referee) ; Lenderová, Milena (referee)
This dissertation is based on a socio-cultural and social-anthropological approach to religion which (among other things) says that religion is dependent on the society in which it occurs. The ambition of the dissertation is not to capture "official positions" of the Catholic Church about the role of women in modern society. The dissertation is focusing on the perspective of Catholic women themselves. My main aim is to observe the opinion Catholic women have about themselves, and whether they reflect social or modernization changes. I will also observe, how they negotiated their role within the Czech political Catholicism. Time specification includes the end of the nineteenth century when women got more opportunities in the public sphere. As well as the period of independent Czechoslovakia and its constitution which declared the equal status of men and women.

FACE or a BODY´S PROJECTION SCREEN
Joura, Bořek ; HAVELKA, Jiří (advisor) ; MĚCHÁČEK, Tomáš (referee)
This thesis aims to describe the structures of a face and consequently explain the ways of communicating emotions between people. Different methods were used for the base of my thesis: I studied pictures of various facial expressions and read different specialized books - with theatrical as well as scientific content. My focus was on the very details of human's face. I was searching to find out how people are able to understand one another. I realized that human communication goes beyond mere words. I find this revelation useful for my further theatrical work as the details in particular facial expressions differentiate the good actors from the bad ones.

THE NAKED ACTOR or ADVENTURE TIME
Matoušková, Johana ; HAVELKA, Jiří (advisor) ; MAZÚCH, Branislav (referee)
This diploma work entitled The Naked Actor or Adventure Time is not an academic, scientific thesis to all intents and purposes. It is more personal search and enquiry of the motifs of nakedness, exposedness and adventure which further proceeds to more distant, yet relevant ideas as are authenticity, ease, play, states of consciousness, improvisation, sexuality, abashment, corporality etc. Certain parts of the study utilize some ideas of Jerzy Grotowski and the author also uses individual experiences and examples from her own professional career. On that account the form of the work itself is structured to make the best record of the very process of enquiry and thinking.

The aim of this thesis is to present different ways of audience participation that are applied in contemporary theatre practice. The introductory section outlines the issues of engaging the audience in relation to conventional theatrical practice. Subsequently I give a historical overview of important artists of the 20th century, whose work significantly influenced the contemporary perception of possible ways of audience participation in the field of theatre work. In the central part, based on chosen theatre practitioners from the 20th and 21st centuries, I show specific ways of involving the spectator. The final chapter outlines the theoretical discussion of interactive theatre in relation to the concept of aesthetic distance.
ME AS AN ACTOR AFTER WORKSHOP SYSTEM
Kožamelj, Tilen ; TEJNOROVÁ, Petra (advisor) ; HAVELKA, Jiří (referee)
This thesis has two main goals which it wants to achieve and explore. First one is to make an encyclopedia of different workshops that we have passed during our time of studies at school. It should serve me as a usefull book in the future years and help me howremember the things we have done at school. The second big goal is that it is trying to find out if the new, workshop - oriented educational system, has trully created an actor out of me, and most important, what kind of an actor I became finishing the school.
