Korupce v postkomunistických evropských zemích

Corruption is perceived as one of the most serious threats to the society and to the economy of the country as well. For these reasons, many social scientists have tried to discover and describe the root causes of corruption. This task is complicated by the fact that corruption is a clandestine activity, which makes it very difficult to measure and to detect its true effects, as well as its underlying causes. The aim of this dissertation is to analyse and explore possible causes for the level of corruption on the European level with a special focus on the differences between post-communist European countries and the rest of countries in Europe. First, this dissertation presents theories explaining corruption on a global level as well as definitions of corruption. Theories explaining the influences between corruption on a global level and various variables, namely GDP per capita, income inequality, generalized trust, values, and the share of Protestants in the population, are discussed and a special focus is made on the possible different effect in the case of post-communist European countries. The Diabetes Adult Patient Education as a Determinant of Quality of Life

The diploma thesis is focused on the topic of adult diabetes type 1 and type 2 education related to patients' self-care management. It provides the elemental overview of the illness, its complications, treatment and wider social impact and anticipated future development; it presents the general theories, procedures and principles applied to the field of adult education and describes the specifics of diabetes patient education. As a follow-up to the theoretical part, an empirical survey is carried out to verify the connection between the education of diabetics and their metabolic compensation as a main indicator of diabetes-related quality of life. In addition, the differences in compensation between patients treated within diabetes center, regular diabetologists'offices and practising physians' offices are examined.
Integration of Adults with Multiple Sclerosis

This master thesis focuses on the integration of adults with multiple sclerosis, and offers a perspective on their quality of life. The theoretical part describes chronic diseases and their impact on the personality of the patients with multiple sclerosis, as well as patients' coping mechanisms. The main part of the thesis is dedicated to definition, progress, epidemiology, symptomatology, diagnostics and therapy of multiple sclerosis. Many patients are forced to change their lifestyle, employment and everyday activities due to multiple sclerosis. Therefore, one chapter of this master thesis is dedicated to the possibilities of their economical, social and cultural integration. In the empirical part, a scientific research was conducted using MSQOL-54 questionnaire, that determined the effect of multiple sclerosis on the patients' quality of life and their mental and physical health. The most significant negative factors impacting the quality of life were pain and fatigue, which are at the same time the most common symptoms occuring in patients with multiple sclerosis. Analysis of system of further education for teachers

This bachelor thesis is focused on analysis of system of further education for teachers at primary school. The theoretical part of thesis explains the basic concepts related to the profession of teachers and their further education. The next part provides an overview of the development of further education of teachers in the Czech Republic. The last part of the theoretical section deals with the system of further education for teachers and its components. In the empirical part of the thesis are presented the results of own research. The research was realized by the analysis of documents and interview with the deputy headmaster. In the end, the data analyzed from empirical research are compared with theoretical assumptions. Specific Needs of Deaf People Studying at Universities in Czech Republic

The thesis focuses on the issue of education of people with hearing disabilities at universities in the Czech Republic. It emphasizes the specific educational needs of people with hearing disabilities who study at the university, and which meet the needs by support services. Work specifically address to the different types of support services and centres to support students with special educational needs at universities that offer these services. The survey, conducted in the form of online questionnaire, found that the use of support services is frequented and at the same time, the quality of these services is rated as very high. The survey also followed the use of modifications graduation exam correlated using a modification of entrance exams for universities. Created an online questionnaire in the Czech sign language provides effective feedback deaf students to the centres to support students with special educational needs. The Approach of the Czech Employers to Workers 50+ Compared to the Key Ideas of Selected International and National Strategic Documents

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyse the key ideas of currently valid international and national documents in the area of employment of older workers, and then on the basis of empirical investigation assess whether the practices of Czech employers correspond with the ideas of these documents. The work is divided into four parts. The introductory part deals with the specifics of older workers, including a description of the current demographic situation in the country. The second part presents the main ideas of the essential strategic documents in the area of assertion of people older than fifty years in the labour market. The third compares the results of the most recent national surveys with the key ideas of analysed documents. The last part, qualitative research, focuses on the attitude of selected Czech employers towards workers 50+, compares the extracted key ideas of the most important strategic documents in the field of active aging in employment with genuine personnel practices of selected employers. The last chapter also verifies compliance of results of own research with the survey findings presented in the national researches. Professionalization and its impact on sectoral identity of non-governmental organizations in the Czech Republic

The aim of this thesis is to explore a new phenomenon of professionalization in the non-governmental organizations and its impact on the sectoral identity of non-governmental organizations that are targeted to handicapped people. Because of the modernization a trend of professionalisation enters to non profit sector. This process changes the structure of organizations. The most important changes are a spreading of professional knowledge that leads to increasing of professionals in organizations. Other changes are the division of labour, changes in the hierarchy and the structure of the organization, the accessibility for the public, financing, and also that professionals start to have a bigger impact on organizations. This transformation changes characteristics of sectoral identity of non-givernmental organizations that are starting to be similar to public administratiion institutions or to commercial subjects. The basic hypothesis of this thesis is: The more proffesionalized the organizations are the less characteristics of sectoral identity they show. This thesis brings to you a salient theme: Private for-Profit News Media (Print and Broadcast; irrespective of the platform on which it is disseminated) based on an interesting topic: Migration in order to explore theoretically and empirically how to model the social impact of the existence of media in a given socio-political, economic, legal and cultural context namely the United States of America and the United Kingdom at a given period: Year 2015. Evaluation of Nonformal Education - Preparation of Volunteers in particular Non-profit Organizations

The central theme of this thesis is the phenomenon of volunteering with an accent to preparation of volunteers in two non-profit organizations, namely INEX- SDA and YMCA in Czech republic. The structure of the thesis is divided into two parts. First part follows the basic terms and aims to put the phenomenon of volunteering to the wider context of civic society. Second part is concentrated on empirical research which use mixed research strategy with an accent to the qualitative analyse. The aim of this research is to bring knowledge about educational program of volunteers` preparing to the voluntary activities and about evaluation of this program in named non-profit organizations. Character of the professionalisation of NGOs and its impact.

The theme of this thesis is the professionalization of NGOs, which can be defined as the transformation to a formal organization with professional management. The process of professionalization consist in job creations and/or the professional management. Jobs can be filled by professionals with volunteer experience or by professionals without volunteer experience. If NGO employs professionals with volunteer experience, the character of personnel professionalization is organic, otherwise is inorganic. The main objective of this thesis is to determine the difference in process, level and consequences of organic and inorganic professionalization of nonprofit organizations. The presumption is that the organic professionalization implies less negative impact on the nonprofit organization than inorganic professionalization. In the theoretical part terms like nonprofit sector, NGOs and professionalization are defined and the theoretical background related to the character of personnel professionalization is presented there. In the empirical part - based on the methodology - is the relationship between the character of personnel professionalization and the process, level and consequences of professionalization in two researched NGOs examined.
