Design of embedded system for control of educational model of rotary pendulum
Jajtner, Jan ; Chalupa, Jan (referee) ; Grepl, Robert (advisor)
The basic aim of this work is to improve existing model of rotational inverted pendulum by adding new mechanical features, implement the control algorithm to dsPIC microcontroller and develop related control electronics thus extending the functionality of current model while making it more compact. The work contains derivation of dynamic equations both by means of analytical methods and multi-body formalism of SimMechanics. These are used to design a state controller stabilizing the pendulum in inverse position. In addition, parameters of the system are being estimated experimentally. Swing-up controller is developed to drive the pendulum to unstable position. Various state estimators are added to controller to improve the control process while comparing their overall performance. The last point is devoted to development of superior state-automaton designed to switch between different regulating modes including fail-detection algorithms providing smooth operation of the model.
Design of unit for Power HIL simulation of DC motor
Chalupa, Jan ; Maršík, Jiří (referee) ; Grepl, Robert (advisor)
This thesis deals with analysis and implementation of Power-HIL system that is designed to simulate real DC motor with comutator and permanent magnets. For problem analysis were used simulations of real components in Matlab / Simulink. The electronic parts of system were simulated with using the SimElectronic library. Idividual hardware components were designed according to simulation results. The outcome of this thesis is a power electronic simulator of real DC motor, which is implemented on dSPACE platform. The system allows software to setup parameters and behavior of simulated motor. The final system can be used for testing DC motor ECU (electronic control units).
Design of control unit for two-wheeled self-balancing vehicle
Bastl, Michal ; Klimeš, David (referee) ; Chalupa, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis is a part of a project of two students. The aim of the project is to design safer electronics for the unstable balancing vehicle HUMMER and implementation of advanced diagnostics and fault detection. In the first part of the project we analysed the original vehicle using the FMEA analyse and created a new concept of the vehicle. The second part of the project describes a new hardware. I designed and tested the power electronics, control unit and supplies. The outputs of the work are prototypes which allow testing a new concept.
Business Plan of Kindergarten Foundation
Nakano, Andrea ; Chalupa, Jan (referee) ; Šimberová, Iveta (advisor)
This master´s thesis describes the design and processing of a business plan for the establishment of private nursery school in Jihlava. The proposal responds to a market gab in providing nursery school services. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts related to business in this field and analyzes the structure of the business plan. The practical part is focused on the analysis of the environment and the specific development of a business plan including risk assessment and feasibility evaluation of projects.
Testing parameters of stepper motors at different microstepping mode
Műller, Jakub ; Chalupa, Jan (referee) ; Klimeš, David (advisor)
This thesis deals with design and construction of test equipment that allows measurements of basic parameters of stepper motors. The first part is devoted to the search about the principle of operation of the hybrid stepper motor. For the analysis engine has been used a mathematical simulation model with real parameters in Matlab/Simulink. The next section is the design of mechanical and electronic form of the test facility with a description of the components used. The last part of this work is focused on measuring the excitation currents and measuring loss of steps at various control modes and microstepping.
Design of Power HIL unit for Li-pol cell simulation
Pribulla, Daniel ; Sova, Václav (referee) ; Chalupa, Jan (advisor)
This thesis deals with design and construction of a Li-po cell Power-HIL simulator intended for testing of a small wireless module's powering. The simulator is based on a battery model which includes the influence of temperature and battery degradation on battery parameters. To estimate model parameters a series of tests on real Li-po cell with capacity 250mAh were performed. Charging and discharging tests were performed by different temperatures of the battery. In purpose of this test a simple thermal chamber was constructed. Design of the power electronics of the device was tested in the Simscape library of the Matlab Simulink. The result is a working prototype of the simulator tested for charging and discharging of batteries with capacity in range 100-1500 mAh. The simulator can be controlled with graphical user interface capable of setting the battery parameters and real time observation of the model variables.
Modification of remote control for experimental vehicle Car4
Šumpelová, Jana ; Klimeš, David (referee) ; Chalupa, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis discusses the control program development for the experimental vehicle CAR4. There is also described the designed type of communication as well. A part of the thesis is dedicated to electrical hardware changes and enclosure mechanic design.
Design and implementation of demonstration model "Inverted pendulum" customized for long time autonomous use
Sukovatý, Adam ; Chalupa, Jan (referee) ; Grepl, Robert (advisor)
This thesis is connected with precedent thesis concerning the construction and creation of inverted pendulum. The first step is an identification of model parameters based on derivation of equations of motion. Process continues with linearization of equations and design state space control using LQR method. Control of pendulum was improved by swing-up mechanism, during its testing was detected some restrictions of the system. These problems were analysed in the end of thesis and there is proposed solution.
HIL Simulation of Electronic Throttle
Maliszewski, Michal ; Chalupa, Jan (referee) ; Sova, Václav (advisor)
This thesis deals with the Hardware in the Loop (HIL) simulation of an electronic throttle. In the following text its mathematical model for different options of friction and hardstops is deduced. Model parameters were obtained by measurement on the real throttle. In the next step the thesis aims on designing the suitable control algorithm, which is used for own HIL simulation. The output of the thesis is the choice of the best model with respect to accuracy and computation time of the simulation.
Desing of measuring of electric machine rotor temperatue
Chalupa, Jan ; Krejčí, Petr (referee) ; Vlach, Radek (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on temperature measurement issues of rotating parts of electrical devices. Thesis includes proposition and implementation of hardware solution, which enables multi-channel temperature measurements using PT100 sensors. Measured temperature is transmitted into the user’s PC. Thesis also includes user software solution for Windows platforms. Hardware requirements are low. System is primarily determined for temperature test of electrical devices. It can be also used for long-term monitoring of devices in operating state. Transmitter was designed with following considerations. Minimal size, low consumption, mechanical and thermal endurance. These demands require comprehensive approach to the whole system solution.
