Entrepreneurship during pandemics and crises in the context of gender inequalities. Policy brief.
Švarcová, Markéta ; Pospíšilová, Marie
Whether the pandemic can be perceived as an opportunity to reduce gender inequality in entrepreneurship was the main question of the participatory workshop that we organized at the Institute of Sociology on March 13, 2024. The discussion during the participatory workshop focused on the barriers that women entrepreneurs face, the tools they can use to overcome them, the introduction of a attendance allowance for entrepreneurs, and the availability and usability of gender-disaggregated data. This policy brief write down the views of relevant stakeholders in the business sector on the topic of eliminating gender inequalities in the entrepreneurship that were expressed during the workshop.
Setoff without mutuality (compensation ex personae tertiii) in business relations
Stratilová, Veronika ; Čech, Petr (advisor) ; Pelikán, Robert (referee)
Set-off without mutuality (compensation ex personae tertii) in business relations Abstract The aim of this thesis is to answer the question whether the statute contains exhaustive or non-exhaustive list of cases in which a person may set-off without mutuality. Accordingly, whether it is possible to negotiate the set-off of claims where mutuality cannot be found. I have done so by analysing selected cases of set-off without mutuality. I have described the cases expressly embodied in the statute, as well as those on which the Supreme Court of the Czech Republic has already ruled. The objective was to uncover the meaning and purpose common to all these exceptions and, with this knowledge, to establish a method that will lead to an answer to the question of whether the set-off without mutuality can be counted in a particular case. The first section of this thesis explains what is meant by the creditor's entitlement to demand satisfaction of his/her own claim. I came to the conclusion that this category includes not only mature claims, but also a case when the time of performance is determined in favour of the creditor [according to the section 1962 (3) of Act No. 89/2012 Sb., the Civil Code]. I have used this conclusion as a reasoning throughout this thesis. In the following section, I categorized the ways of...
Artephyletics in group work in free time
Semecká, Hana ; Hanková, Zdeňka (advisor) ; Blažková, Veronika (referee)
This bachelor thesis examines the topic of artephiletics in use during leisure activities, aimed at children's perception of the natural environment. The source of perception is trees, which provide inspiration for spontaneous and organised creative activities. Children's insights and perceptions into the world of trees create space for shared experiences, knowledge, stimulate emotions and lasting stimuli. In the theoretical part, the first chapters introduce the concepts of education, leisure time, and pedagogy of leisure time as used within the pedagogical field of leisure. The chapter on art describes the relationship between nature and education as an educational tool. The chapters on children's drawing and art education define the activities in the context of the Framework Curriculum in school and during leisure time on the basis of J. Slavik's concept of art education. The theoretical part concludes with a chapter on artephiletics with an emphasis on the importance of pedagogical work. The aim of my bachelor's thesis is to design and test the Tree Stories artephiletic leisure project. The project focuses on children's perception of trees by experiencing them during art activities. The practical part characterises a group of children with whom the project was carried out. It describes the activities...
Interaction of non-thermal plasma at atmospheric pressure (CAPP) with non-pathogenic bacteria
Chobotská, Barbora ; Brázda, Václav (referee) ; Kozáková, Zdenka (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor thesis is the study of decontamination effects of cold atmospheric pressure plasma (CAP) on selected bacteria Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus epidermidis. A non-thermal microwave plasma torch was used. The plasma torch was connected to the software in the computer, which allowed its movement over the treated area. The used power fluctuated between 12–13 W and argon (gas purity 4.6) was chosen as the working gas with a constant flow rate of 5 l/min Inhibition efficacy was observed depending on the type of the selected treatment. The chosen treatment parameters included the effect of speed, direction, and treatment time for both studied bacteria. The aim was to achieve the highest decontamination of the treated area and to determine which of these parameters appeared to be the most significant. No obvious difference (between the treatment directions) was found in the overall decontamination of the treated area for studied bacteria Escherichia coli. The negative effect of speed was only observed for the fastest speed used in the case of gram-positive Staphylococcus epidermidis. The most significant parameter was found to be the treatment time, where a significant decrease in colony growth was observed with increasing treatment time. Furthermore, a repeated treatment was done, where the inoculum was prepared from the already treated bacteria. By this set of experiments, possible development of microbial resistance against the plasma treatment was tested. The results showed that there was no significant increase in the number of colonies even after the repeated treatment. It was also observed that the gram-positive bacteria Staphylococcus epidermidis showed lower decontamination effect evaluated via the number of colonies than the gram-negative bacteria Escherichia coli for all treatment types studied.
Effective management of domestic hot water heating using photovoltaics
Talajka, Martin ; Zachariáš, Michal (referee) ; Materna, Zdeněk (advisor)
This work solves the problem of efficient control of water heating using photovoltaic system. To solve the chosen problem, I designed an algorithm and implemented it in the form of integration into the Home Assistant system, which also serves as a central control device. And it provides the integration between the boiler and the PV system. Thanks to this integration, it is possible to automatically and comfortably heat water from the surplus energy of the photovoltaic system, or alternatively from batteries or the distribution network. At the same time, system status monitoring and remote device management are possible. For example, the user can monitor the temperature of the heated water, the status of the overall system, adjust the heating temperature or set the water heating for a specific time, using an app or a web interface. The results of the work show that the proposed system is easy to use and is able to efficiently manage the water heating using the PV system, thus saving energy and gas.
Performance Analysis of Go Programs
Nešpor, Andrej ; Malík, Viktor (referee) ; Pavela, Jiří (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to extend the performance versioning system Perun by implementing a module for profiling programs written in the Go language. This module implemets the profiler by instrumenting function calls and returns using eBPF technology. The tool can collect function run times and their traces. We can then interpret the outputted profiles as a Sankey diagram. Additionally we implemented a new way of visualizing the measured data using the so-called Sankey graph, which will help with their interpretation. Using the developed profiler we conduct a few experiments to verify its functionality and demonstrate its use.

Fluorescent nanoparticles based on organic chromophores
Čekal, Josef ; Kratochvíl, Matouš (referee) ; Vala, Martin (advisor)
This study aims to create Host-Guest nanoparticle systems exhibiting white light emission (WLE) using organic molecules, achieved through Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) mechanisms. Substituted stilbene-based compounds were utilized for the preparation of nanoparticle systems, with CA-DPS-V (H2) and CA-DPS-CHO (H1) used as donor/matrix materials, and CA-DPS-DCV (G1) and DPA-DXS-IOO (G2) as acceptor/dopant materials. Three nanoparticle systems were synthesized via nanoprecipitation from common solutions of the compounds in THF: system 1 (H1+G1), which did not achieve WLE, system 2 (H2+G1), and system 3 (H2+G2). Systems 2 and 3 were characterized using fluorescence spectroscopy and FRET parameter calculations. It was found that the Förster distance in system 2 is shorter than in system 3. This variation in Förster distance affects the composition ratios capable of WLE. The closest proximity to the white point (0.33, 0.33) was observed in system 2 at molar ratios of 110:1 (0.32, 0.38) and 164:1 (0.29, 0.32), and in system 3 at ratios of 340:1 (0.34, 0.30) and 476:1 (0.31, 0.28). Thus, the goal of the study was achieved, demonstrating that nanoparticles capable of WLE can be prepared in this manner. However, a drawback of the prepared nanoparticles was their low photostability. Future work could focus on synthesizing more stable nanoparticles from structurally similar compounds. These particles could then be further characterized in terms of structure and other properties for potential applications.
Detection of Diseases Caused by Diabetes in Retinal Images
Zapletal, Michal ; Semerád, Lukáš (referee) ; Kavetskyi, Andrii (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to design and implement an algorithm for detecting exudates and microaneurysms in colored retinal images. These diseases are the first signs of diabetic retinopathy and early detection is crucial. The proposed algorithm begins with preprocessing, where excess background is removed, contrast is enhanced using CLAHE and histogram stretching, and noise filtering is applied. Optic disc localization is based on iterative background removal and row and column variances. Exudates detection is performed based on gamma correction, thresholding and optic disc removal. Microaneurysm detection is based on morphological operations, hit-or-miss transformation and principal component analysis (PCA). The algorithm was tested on 4 datasets with accuracy 73,1 % for exudates and 73,3 % for microaneurysms. The resulting program could assist in automatic disease detection, which could potentially save time for doctors.
