RNDr. Milan Pour, Ph.D. Title of Doctoral Thesis: Novel quinazoline derivatives with biological activity This thesis is divided into two parts, both dealing with the synthesis of novel quinazoline derivatives and evaluation of their biological activity. The first part is focused on the synthesis of bronchodilatory active derivatives derived from vasicinone as a lead compound and 3-[3-(piperidin-1-yl)-propyl]-3,4- dihydroquinazoline-4-one and 4-[3-(piperidin-1-yl)-propylsulfanyl]-3,4-dihydroquinazoline-4- one, the most active derivatives from our previous work. The derivatives were subsequently tested on isolated rat trachea and their bronchodilatory activity was evaluated. Their toxicity, in vivo activity, mechanism of action and the relationships between structure and activity (SAR) were also investigated. The second part deals with the synthesis of novel derivatives of 2,4-disubstituted quinazoline and their testing for affinity to nuclear constitutive androstane receptor (CAR). Death of Karel Gott from the Point of View of Chosen Czech and German Press

This thesis deals with the media image of Karel Gott after his death. Selected newspapers are Lidové noviny, Blesk, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Bild and analysed are 24 days after the announcement of the death of Karel Gott. The aim of the selection of newspapers in both languages was to include one periodical which is considered as quality press and one tabloid. The thesis consist of three parts. The theoretical part explains crucial terms for the analysis and introduces chosen newspapers. The methodological part clarifies the concept of qualitative research and grounded theory. The main part is comprised of the analytical part which describes outcome of the analysis and in four periods presents constructed images of Karel Gott. In conclusion, images created in Czech and German press are compared and subsequently, a comparison between the Czech media is drawn.

Annotated translation: Five selected articles from gesundheit.de

This bachelor's thesis consists of the translation of five selected articles and the commentary of the translation. Two articles are about high blood pressure, two about diabetes and one is about cholesterol. The commentary is constituted by the analysis of the source text, based on Christiane Nord's model, as well as the description of the translation method, solutions of selected translation problems and the typology of translation shifts.

Multi-cultural Education - An African Odyssey

Diplomová práce s názvem Multikulturní výchova je práce pojednávající o postavení společnosti k problémům multikulturality, o integraci, o zařazování multikulturního vzdělání do kontextu českého školství, o pomoci minoritám. Je to také práce mapující jeden den v základní škole se zaměřením na multikulturní výchovu. Charakter práce je teoreticko-empirický. Práce je rozdělena do dvou hlavních částí. Do části teoretické a do části praktické. V první teoretické části jsou tři kapitoly zabývající se pojmy multikulturní výchovy, dále podmínkami realizace multikulturní společnosti v praxi, třetí kapitola mapuje organizace a společnosti pro podporu multikulturní společnosti. V druhé praktické části jsou kapitoly o hlavních přípravách a seznámení se s účastníky projektu, kapitola samotného projektu a kapitola o tom, jak by to všechno ještě šlo udělat jinak. Hydrogen fixed in the coal structure was converted to gaseous form using two-stage pyrolysis. The hydrogen volume in the pyrolytical gas strong increased along with the temperature in the cracking module. There was verified the possibility to obtain hydrogen by thermal decomposition of coal pyrolysis volatile products.
