Characteritic of the criminal career and chronic offender of a violent crime

The diploma thesis Characteristics of the criminal career and chronic offender of a violent crime is divided into two parts: theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part deals with risk factors that can lead to criminal career, psychological characteristics of chronic offenders and offenders of violent crime. Finally, theoretical part mentioned the concept of criminal careers with basic elements: participation, frequency, duration, starts a criminal career, the interval between of the offenses, the remaining length and finishing of the criminal career, specialization or universality, severity and escalation, accomplice to criminal career. The theoretical part also summarizes the basic statistics on the crime of chronic offender. The empirical part is the quantitative retrospective study of the forensic expertises in the field of clinical psychology. The main task of the thesis focused on the assessment of escalation - increased severity of crimes during individual criminal career of the chronic offender of violent crime. This thesis focuses on internet crime where children are the victims. In the theoretical part of this work, different types of internet crime are described, with a special focus on internet crimes committed on children. Furthermore, it summarizes the basic knowledge of the aggressors and perpetrators of this activity, the prevalence of this crime, and last but not least it gives information about their victims. The empirical part of this work is devoted to the qualitative study of the list of cases targeting internet crime committed on children and to the quantitative study which identifies the experiences of children with the Internet today. The Personal Identity of Adolescents - Drug Usersafter Entering Therapy

The aim of this thesis is to map the psychosocial characteristics of adolescents using drugs while subject to therapeutic intervention in connection with noticing changes in their identity. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters. The first chapter cites the characteristic signs of adolescence relating to biological, cognitive, emotional and psychosocial developmental changes. The content of the second chapter is the formation of identity as a key theme of adolescence. In the third chapter, dedicated to the specifics of drug using in adolescence, themes relating to the origins of addiction, the roles of psychosocial factors and rehabilitation possibilities are discussed. The empirical part presents the research, processed research data from Safety Line conversations on the theme of addiction, research data from questionnaires and conversations with 41 adolescent drug users who entered an educational-therapy stay in the Alternativa department, SVP Klíčov and research data from a case interpretation study. Possibilites and limitations of Rorschach's diagnostics in population of pathological sexual aggressors

This thesis addresses the possibilities and limitations of Rorschach Inkblot Method in the psychological assessment of preferential rapists. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes the general characteristics of paraphilias, introduces the contemporary theories on sexual aggression and rape, and presents selected studies related to the use of RorschachInkblot Method (using Exner's Comprehensive System) in the research of paraphilias. The empirical part focuses on my research project. I have theoretically deduced variables and composites and subsequently compared them with the normative values the CS reference populations. I have also analysed the number of criterions of the Banality Profile (of psychopathy), which were fulfilled by the sample of the sexual offenders. Then I have analysed the sequence of the clusters according to the most prominent key variable among the subjects that were the most clinically disturbed. I have found statistically significant differences between the rapists and the normative population in several variables. The most prominent ones were associated with the interpersonal perception, and mediation. Social cognition in negotiation

This paper was created by extending and updating master thesis "Psychological Aspects of Negotiation" by chapter Lies and Deception in Negotiation, several new research hypotheses and updated content and literature. The theoretical part of the paper presents key topics of negotiation research from the perspective of social cognition - definition issues, phases of negotiation, distributive and integrative negotiation, negotiation - related variables (personal, emotional- motivational, cognitive, and interpersonal) and finally methods and approaches of studying negotiation. The empirical part of the paper consists of two related studies. The first part maps relations between variables in model negotiation. It uses two questionnaire tools - the Individualistic Orientation Inventory (IOI) and the Subjective Value Inventory (SVI - new Czech version). The second part uses 30-second segments of mute video recording from the beginning of the model negotiations in the first part of study. Naive judges then evaluate these thin slices of communication, guess the result (agreement/disagreement), whether the negotiators take advantage of integrative potential, and thei satisfaction with result and relationship after the negotiation. Diplomová práce "Jak se žije dospělým dětem alkoholiků" se zabývá problematikou dospělých, kteří mají zkušenost dětství prožitého v rodině s rodičem-alkoholikem. Jedná se o kvalitativní studii, jejímž cílem je dopovědět na následující otázky: Jak vlastně vypadá dětství, dospívání a následně dospělý život lidí, kteří mají za sebou zkušenost dítěte alkoholika? Jak vypadá takové rodinné prostředí? Existují nějaká témata společná těm, kteří vyrůstali v takovém prostředí? Teoretická část obsahuje dosavadní poznatky studií, které se tématem dospělých dětí alkoholiků zabývají. Popisuje charakteristiky jak rodinného prostředí, tak způsoby uvažování a prožívání dospělých dětí alkoholiků. Metodologická část obsahuje definici výzkumného problému, metody získávání vzorku (samovýběr), metodu získávání dat (nestrukturované interview) a způsob jejich zpracování (narativní analýza, metody zachycení vzorců). Analytická část obsahuje samotné zpracování dat pěti respondentů. Jednotlivé příběhy nahlíženy jako určité životní konfigurace. Následně je uvedeno 28 témat, která jsou v různé míře respondentům výzkumu společná.
Changes in the structure of personality convicted after finishing thein therapeutic exposure in specialized department in Prison Mírov

This work is focused on the issues dealing with the affectivity of offenders' specialised treatment during their stay in the specialised department for offenders with mental disorder and behaviour disorder during the execution of punishment of imprisonment in the prison with enhanced security. The history of specialised treatment with focus on offenders with mental disorder is generally described in the introduction. Furthermore, there is a specification of diagnostic criteria and aetiology of various types of mental disorders and there is also described the development of humanizing efforts within the Prison Guard of the Czech Republic in accordance with the legislative changes after the year 1989. Moreover, there is also outlined the way of treatment, therapeutic processes and methods which were applied within the specialised department. The aim of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of applied therapeutic methods in the treatment community system. The results of the examined file are evaluated on the bases of results of psychological examination performed during the enrolment to the specialised department and psychological examination after the completing of the treatment program and subsequent ending of the stay in the specialised department. The personality of a murderer

The main focus of this thesis is to approach the issue of a criminal's (more specifically murderer's) personality, by means of forensic psychology. It is unfortunately not easy to explain why is one able to take another person's life. We on the other hand can gain a closer look to motivation and personal features, which can lead one to do so. The thesis focuses on knowledge of an official referee, which has been gain through a few recent years. The outcome data have been sorted out and eventually used to a criminal personality research. We've tried to map possible likeness of traits in behaviour, motivation and personal variables. A person's behaviour is, apart from the inner variables, influenced by outside factors as well. That is why this thesis pays attention to a broader area in a theoretical field of criminal engagement and criminal history. It offers a comprehensive picture of murder and factors, which influence it. Neverthless, the criminal and his personality remain the key factor. Perception of guilt by offenders

This thesis deals with psychological aspects of perception of guilt by convicted offenders. In the theoretical part are introduced various definitions of guilt, guilt as a process concluding with forgiveness and guilt as social emotion. This theisis is also about the specifity of perception of guilt by the convicted offenders. The experimental part of the thesis explores how the offenders perceive their guilt from their own perspective based on the components of guilt - remorse, regret, responsibility, failure, tension and redemption.
