What is the difference in student knowledge of nutrition at different types of universities?
Boháč, Petr ; Dlouhý, Pavel (advisor)
This diploma thesis consists of a theoretical and analytical part. The first part introduces basic knowledge about healthy nutrition, the constitution of nourishment and nutritional recommendations for citizens of the Czech Republic. It also describes a required level of knowledge about nutrition that all high school students should have. The analytical part is based on research that examined the knowledge of 298 university students and high school seniors. The students were from four different universities and one high school. This set of students was examined by a test that consisted of 30 questions. Students answered another four questions about their weight, height, gender and subjective valuations of their knowledge. The answers to these questions were evaluated manually and processed in programs such as MS Excel, MS Word and Epitable. The diploma thesis examines the knowledge of students based on their school, gender and daily life experience. It also shows students' Body Mass Indexes and differences in their subjective valuations of knowledge based on the students' schools. Results are presented in well-arranged tables in Chapter Discussion. The research showed that the best knowledge is to be found among students from Third Faculty of Medicine. Practical questions that focused on daily life...
Surface acoustic waves in the layered systems
Tarasenko, Alexander ; Boháč, Petr ; Jastrabík, Lubomír
The laser acoustic method was used for analysis of two layered systems: thin titanium and diamond like carbon films both deposited on silicon. The film and substrate parameters are determined by fitting the theoretical curve to the measured dispersion curve. The fit software seeks that set of the system parameters whose theoretical curve coincides the best with the experimental data. For the titanium film the best root-mean square deviation was 2.04 m/s with the relative error < O.I % and for the DLC system the corresponding value was 0.30 m/s (the relative error < O.O1 % ).
Human Model in Control Systems
Boháč, Petr ; Horák, Karel (referee) ; Havlíková, Marie (advisor)
The aim of this paper is to provide a summary of human models in control systems. I focused mainly on controlling of cars and airplanes. Models based on the PID controller are assessed in aspects of behavior in open loop. I suggest method of determining their parameters using the Nelder-Mead method.
Simulation models of human operator.
Boháč, Petr ; Horák, Karel (referee) ; Havlíková, Marie (advisor)
This paper deals with simulation models of the human operator controlling lateral position of simulated vehicle. I am comparing parameters and quality of the McRuer human driver model and the PID controller. Simulated system is single-track vehicle model. Simulated driver is tasked to pass a Moose test with this vehicle model. I am using the simulated annealing method to find optimal parameters of the driver model and then I visualize realized test in 2D and 3D visualization. In the end of this paper I compare simulations of the driver models and assess achieved results.
Application of acoustic emisssion for thin layer mechanical toughness evaluation
Boháč, Petr ; Tomáštík, Jan ; Koula, V. ; Dráb, M. ; Jastrabík, Lubomír
The thin films are used as a functional coating of components. The limiting factor of their application is the adhesion to substrate. The laboratory method to investigation of their adhesion and mechanical toughness is the scratch test. This method emulates a mechanism of the abrasive wear in a way. Evaluation of the test results is mainly performed by microscopic investigation of deformations and micro cracks in the scratch track. Irreversible deformations, which arise during scratch test generate an acoustic emission (AE). By simultaneous scanning and recording of the increasing depth of penetration with increasing load of the stylus in the nanotester and by this way generated AE (recorded by analyzer)one can obtain data files, which contain a course of the whole experiment including AE.

Čtvrtlík, Radim ; Kulykovskyy, Valeriy ; Vorlíček, Vladimír ; Boháč, Petr ; Stranyánek, Martin
Mechanical properties of hard amorphous and nanocrystalline films with dominant covalent bonds are nowadays the subject of enhanced interest. Such films can be harder than corresponding bulk material due to peculiarities of structure and numerous growth defects.
Measurement of mechanical properties of thin films by nanocompression
Kuběna, Ivo ; Kruml, Tomáš ; Hutař, Pavel ; Boháč, Petr ; Stranyánek, Martin ; Čtvrtlík, Radim ; Pánek, P. ; Vystavěl, T.
Mechanical properties of thin films are not easy to be measured. This is particularly true in the case of plastic properties as the yield point, the work hardening rate or the ultimate stress. Nevertheless, such parameters are needed e.g. in the design of integrated circuits where the thermal stresses may lead to mechanical failure of the component. We applied two modern experimental facilities, the focused ion beam and the nanoindentation for exact measurement of plastic properties of a Al-1.5%Cu thin film prepared by PVD, used for electrical connection of integrated circuits. By FIB milling, cylindrical specimens were prepared. The height of the specimens was equal to the film thickness (2 m) and their diameter was about 1.3 m. These specimens were subjected to the compressive loading using the nanoindenter equipped by a flat punch. Stress-strain curves of the film were obtained rather precisely.
