Functionalization of cerium oxide nanoparticles by simple biomolecules
Dupkalová, Daniela ; Tsud, Nataliya (advisor) ; Beranová, Klára (referee)
Nanoparticles show a great promise in medical applications such as diagnostics and treatment of various diseases. As the biological environment of the living organism is very complex, an extensive research is needed to put the novel alternatives into practise safely. One of the interesting materials for bioapplications is cerium oxide with its unique antioxidant properties. In this work we characterised three systems of bare, histidine-covered and glycine- covered cerium oxide nanoparticles (Ce NPs) in a form of colloid solutions. Colloid stability and reactivity of NPs solutions in various pH were studied using DLS. AFM imaging was utilized to determine the size distribution of NPs clusters and its dependence on the preparation procedure. Synchrotron radiation-based techniques (SRPES, RPES and NEXAFS) as well as laboratory XPS were implemented to investigate electronic structure of the NPs systems with the focus on characterisation of histidine and glycine bonding to Ce NPs surface.
Catalytic properties of cobalt thin films and its oxides
Krutel, Jozef ; Johánek, Viktor (advisor) ; Beranová, Klára (referee)
Examining different methods of oxidizing bulk polycrystalic cobalt sample to prepare CoOx surface, examine thermal stability of prepared layers by XPS & TDS, comparison to mixed CeOx/CoOx oxide thin films. Chemical reactivity - adsorption of isotopicaly labeled CO on CeOx/Co3O4, methanol oxidation on CeOx/CoO under UHV conditions characterized by QMS.
The Interpretation of Funeral in Hinduism
Beranová, Klára ; Štipl, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Chlup, Radek (referee)
This Bachelor thesis deals with ways, which it is possible to interpret Hindu funeral rite by Jonathan Parry. Primarily there will be introduce Parry′s interpretations of Hindu funeral like a last sacrifice of deceased and renewal of life in connection with the Hindu cosmology (homology of body and cosmos). Consequently will be these interpretations confirm or disconfirm by Garudapurana, one of the most Hindu sacred text concerned with funeral rite and death. Parry′s interpretations relate to funeral in Varanasi which is very specific place of Hindu death. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Gender Differences in Sources of Well-being
Beranová, Klára ; Blatný, Marek (advisor) ; Kebza, Vladimír (referee)
(in English): This submitted thesis deals with gender differences in sources of well-being. It defines well-being and focuses on defining two significant approaches which are the subjective well-being (SWB) and the psychological well-being (PWB). In the theoretical part it summarizes the most significant demographics and socioeconomics factors which affect the well-being, gender and sex issues, and also focuses on the links between personality and well-being. The empirical part deals with the analysis and exploration of gender's differences of correlations between the well-being and the key characteristics in personality according to the Big Five model, the Schwartz Theory of Basic Values and coping strategies formulated by Carver. Research sample consisted of 2317 students of Masaryk University. The statistical analysis found correlation 0,602 between inventories measuring SWB and PWB. The significantly stronger positive relationship has been confirmed in men between extraversion and PWB, between active coping and PWB and also it has been confirmed, that women have significantly stronger relationship between coping strategy using emotional support and SWB. It was also confirmed, that young women participants have higher values of PWB than men. Exploratory analysis revealed the highest gender...
Gender and communication at the school
Beranová, Klára ; Kasíková, Hana (advisor) ; Pelikán, Jiří (referee)
and key words Gender and communication at school The diploma thesis deals with gender issues in the school environment in relation to communication. The thesis analyses gender assumptions, projects gender in educational practice and maps gender stereotypes in relation to the communication at school. It presents the principles of gender-sensitive education and points out the positive aspects of gender equality education. The second part of the thesis is reserved for the empirical aspect containing the research probe. Students opinions on the gender communication were get by using the questionnaire. The results were compared with the theoretical aspects of the gender issue. Keywords: gender, communication, school, stereotype, gender roles, equality, pedagogy, education
Relation of ADHD child to pedagogue in the kindergarten
Beranová, Klára ; Kucharská, Anna (advisor) ; Valentová, Lidmila (referee)
The thesis consider a characteristic attributes of attention deficit hyperactivity disorders and attention deficit disorders (ADHD/ADD), their origin and typical manifestations. Thesis tries to find the best method of intervention. The situations demanding pedagogue's advanced attention and contrariwise the situations that pedagogue should avoid. The paper brings procedures, concrete activities and suitable approaches to work with ADHD/ADD children. The qualitative research about mutual interaction between pedagogue and child with attention disorders connected with hyperactivity will be implemented. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
