Juniper pastures in the Wallachia area and predictors of their preservation
Mizera, Ondřej ; Křenová, Zdeňka (advisor) ; Mudrák, Ondřej (referee)
Common juniper (Juniperus communis), as a species of predominantly open habitats, used to be part of semi-natural grassland communities, such a pastures. In the area of Moravian Wallachia (eastern part of the Czech Republic) this type of grassland is known as juniper pasture, however as in the whole of Europe, it is a type of habitat that is disappearing rapidly from the landscape, among other reasons due to the absence of juveniles in the population. A total of 20 potentially preserved juniper pastures were identified within nine cadastral areas in the Moravian Wallachia (Beskydy Protected Landscape Area) and visited during the vegetation period. The total number of J. communis individuals was recorded, including their dendrometric (crown height and radius) and descriptive characteristics (sex, vitality, developmental stage, sociability, form). Characteristics of vegetation cover and type of site management were also recorded to define the main factors influencing the vitality and proportion of juvenile individuals in the population of J. communis. Field research was supplemented by analyses of orthophotos and topographical data processed in a GIS environment. In total 2,896 juniper were recorded at 20 locations, while the population of J. communis in the area of interest can be characterized by...
Planetary boundary layer height estimation
Růžičková, Barbora ; Zíková, Naděžda (advisor) ; Holubová Šmejkalová, Adéla (referee)
The planetary boundary layer height (PBLH) is a key parameter for investigating interactions between the Earth's surface and the atmosphere, especially for air quality assessment and pollutants' dispersion. The PBLH is highly variable in time and space as is influenced by a number of factors originating both in the atmosphere and at the Earth's surface. In this bachelor thesis, the PBLH and mixing layer height (MLH) measured at the National Atmospheric Observatory Košetice over the three-year period 2020-2022 using the Vaisala CL61 ceilometer were evaluated. For both observed variables, a significant difference was found between the values measured in summer and winter: 1710 ± 760 m and 1010 ± 650 m for PBLH, 920 ± 700 m and 420 ± 330 m for MLH. Significant diurnal variability was also observed, with maxima at 15:00 UTC and minima at 03:00 UTC for PBLH and maxima at 14:00 UTC and minima at 22:00 UTC for MLH. The relationship between planetary boundary layer height and the occurrence of cyclonic and anticyclonic synoptic situations was also investigated, but was not conclusive due to the complexity of the weather patterns of each synoptic situation. Keywords: atmospheric boundary layer, mixing layer, ceilometer, ground-based remote sensing, atmospheric vertical profile
Right of action in collective proceedings

Right of action in collective proceedings Abstract This thesis is focused on the analysis of the persons with right of action and interested class members in collective proceedings and the draft law on collective proceedings going through the national legislative process, which is the transposition of Directive (EU) 2020/1828 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 November 2020 on representative actions for the protection of the collective interests of consumers and repealing Directive 2009/22/EC. The aim of the thesis is to assess the current readiness of the Czech legal environment to adopt the new institute coming from common law. The thesis is based on analysis, abstraction, classification, deduction and comparative analysis of several European countries. Appropriate de lege ferenda solutions are proposed. The first chapter of the thesis defines the institutes and notions of adversarial proceedings related to right of action and standing in the Czech legal environment. The second chapter is focused on the definition of collective proceedings. The chapter also includes an evaluation of the appropriate opt-in and opt-out model for national legal systems, concluding that the opt-in model is more appropriate for the Czech environment. The third chapter of the thesis presents concept of the right...
Attitude and Motivation of Nurses to Lifelong Learning
Bártlová, Erika ; Jirkovský, Daniel (advisor) ; Dorková, Zlatica (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of nurses' motivation for lifelong learning and their awareness of this topic. Target: The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to find out whether nurses have an overview of the individual forms of lifelong education of non-medical healthcare workers, whether and how they are motivated to participate in them, and what factors prevent them from participating in lifelong education programs. Methods: A questionnaire containing 22 questions was distributed electronically to the nurses. A total of 493 questionnaires were processed of which 348 general nurses, 70 children's nurses, 58 practical nurses, 8 midwives and 8 paramedics participated in the survey. The non-parametric statistical method Pearson's Chi-square was used for statistical data processing. Results: The results show that nurses' knowledge of individual programs and forms of lifelong learning varies depending on their age, length of professional practice and educational attainment. Nurses' interest in participating in lifelong learning programs decreases with increasing age and length of practice and is influenced by workload resulting from staff shortages. The biggest motivating factor turned out to be a higher financial reward. The most important demotivating factor is lack of time. Conclusions:...
3D analysis of dental and skeletal changes after dental and orthodontic treatment
Výsledky z 22 experimentálních souborů dat ukázaly vysokou míru shody mezi sádrovými odlitky a virtuálními povrchy s průměrným absolutním rozdílem 0,018 mm a směrodatnou...
Relationship between age structure and efficiency of NHL players
Zydroň, Ondřej ; Šídlo, Luděk (advisor) ; Hanus, Martin (referee)
The main goal of this thesis is to investigate the relationship between age and performance of NHL players during the observed period 2000/01-2021/22. This relationship is described based on player positions and region of origin, while simultaneously tracking changes over the period under review. The sub-goals include monitoring changes in the age structure of players, investigating the so-called relative age effect and evaluating geographical aspects of the NHL. The results of the analysis indicate that in terms of performance, forwards reach their career peak first and goalkeepers last. The career of forwards has a faster rise, but a slower decline, compared to defenders. Elite players at all positions peak later in their careers than the rest of the NHL, and at the same time, they are able to maintain their best performances for longer. Remarkable changes appeared within the age structure, as the representation of older players decreased during the observed period, and on the contrary, the dominance of young players began to increase. In addition, they young players were supposed to transfer the effect of relative age from the youth categories to the NHL. It probably really exists in the league, but it does not affect the performance and length of the players' careers. Geographical aspects can...

Tomoryová, Veronika ; Abu Ghosh, Yasar (advisor) ; Sosna, Daniel (referee)
This thesis is based on research conducted in a luxury jewellery store in Prague, Czech Republic. Based on the conversations which take place between salespeople and customers when selecting gifts, it analyses the culture of gifting luxury material items in fulfilment of traditional social obligations such as the celebration of birthdays, Christmas or anniversaries. The thesis also examines to how luxury is conceived in the store, where employees' service and the company's marketing use the attributes of gift-giving to sell commodities. Specific examples demonstrate how commodities take on the properties of a gift in an effort to make the commodity exchange more personal and thus more profitable. In the jewellery store, a hybridization of the gift and the commodity takes place, actively created by the salespeople and the marketing of the manufacturer, but also by the customers themselves. Examples of conversations during gift selection provide insight into the social, economic and personal dimensions of gift-giving, as well as the typology of the nature of the gift, the occasion for the gift-giving and the relationship between donor and recipient. Keywords gift economy, gift, commodity, consumer research, marketing
