Zaměřuje se však i na jejich vývoj ve světě i v České republice, jejich autory, internetovou žurnalistiku, její amaterizaci a rozvoj blogů pod hlavičkou zavedených médií. Důležitým bodem je i spor klasických médií a takzvaných nových médií, za jejichž rozvojem stojí rozšíření internetu. Jak na tento fenomén klasická média zareagovala a jak se mu podřídila. Hlavním materiálem jsou výzkumy mezi českými novináři, firmami a administrátory blogů, které mají zjistit, zda se blogy v roce 2011 používají i jako zdroje informací, nástroje k firemní propagaci a PR a jak se vlastně z běžného uživatele internetu může stát bloger. Jaroslav Švelch Abstract Media convergence - continuous merging of media determined by new technologies development - is one of the most significant phenomenons nowadays. The theoretical portion of this thesis describes technological, economical and content aspects of convergence. It is emphasizing Henry Jenkins's definition, which characterizes convergence as change in audience behavior, their active media content consumption. This contrast between passive audience of old traditional media and active audience of convergence media is a premise of following empirical portion of the thesis. It aims to assign socio- demographic characteristics to these contradictory descriptions. Audience of MF DNES, Rádio Impuls and TV Nova are elected as representatives of traditional audience and their profile is compared with iDnes.cz, Impuls.cz and nova.cz users characteristics. Iranian opposition and blogging-the phenomenon of Citizen journalism in non-free society

The Master's thesis Iranian opposition and blogging - the phenomenon of Citizen journalism in a non-free society is focused on analysis of blogging as an opposition's communication tool within the nondemocratic regimes, contemporary Iran in particular. The research question is How can be the opposition's communication performed by blogging and what are the limitations and possibilities of such communication. The primary hypothesis is that the blogs are not used for direct manangement of opposition's actions, but rather as an alternative space for free expression. Four opposition's blogs written in english are analysed by means of qualitative analysis. The main criteria for selection of blogs were that the blog should be actualised on regular basis, based in Iran or at least written by a native Iranian, and clearly be in favour of the opposition's ideology. Content published between march 2009 and march 2010 was selected for analysis, for it was the period of disputed presidential election and following citizen's unrest in Iran. Diploma thesis "News web site ČT24 and its virtual world" deals with how this Internet medium constructed the picture of the surrounding world in 2009. The thesis proposes theoretical approaches, as for example social construction of reality, agenda setting or world system theory. Practical research is presented in the second part of this thesis. The research is aimed at the content analysis of foreign news of the Portál ČT24 in 2009. The research examines which countries Portál ČT24 included to the flow of news and which ones didn't. The research also investigates how much space each country got in foreign news in Portál ČT24. The final result of this work is cartogram of the world. There it has been demonstrated how Portál ČT24 saw the surrounding world in its news in 2009.

The diploma thesis, addressing the topic of New media and internet marketing via an example of social networks, deals with the possibilities of practical marketing that these new media offer. The work deals also with the characteristics of these new meadia and this kind of a wider social context. The whole work thus stands on three pillars - the new media and technologies, the new media and social activities and, last but not least, the internet marketing and the referring case study. The diploma thesis aims at analysing the image of new media pictured in traditional print and electronic media (radio and television), with detailed focus on civic activism and ICT. The theoretical part identifies several main differences between the "old" and "new" media, its users, the style of communication and engagement. It is devoted to selected theoretical concepts connected to online media, such as the network society and digital divide, electronic democracy and new public sphere, political communication and the potential of new media to engage citizens. The analytical part explores a particular case of civic activism initiated on the social network Facebook. The research shows how media covered a convergence of social network Facebook and so called "egg case" before 2009 election to European Parliament.
Approaches to public service media in the new media environment : case of Czech Republic

The diploma thesis deals with the online media environment in the early 21st century, where various media platforms operate simultaneously and where ordinary users get better opportunity for representation. This study describes changing forms of the public sphere, which is recently developing into a networked public sphere. The thesis also explores the public service media, which are crucial mediators within the public sphere. Values and characteristics of the public service media changed in time. Qualitative research, executed on a group of online media, identifies the public service values. These values are compared and contrasted with the values of the online media, which could in future exercise the functions of the public service media. The objective of this study is to determine whether there is an alternative for the traditional public service media in the online environment.
User-generated content and its use in news media

This diploma thesis aims to explore the increasing activity of internet users who intensively create, publish and spread their own content. The majority of this content is related to news and traditional forms of mass media organizations, which now must contend with the new means in which to disseminate information. The theoretical portion of this thesis describes the development of network media and strives for ground active user participation in media discourse and a historical context. Kinds of user-created contents will be introduced, defining their characteristics and analyzes these users who are called "prosumers" or "produsers" in the Web 2.0 era. Attention is also focused on user-generated content accessed by news websites and citizen journalism. The second part analyzes how the foremost world news media use and benefit from user-generated content. Examined media are iReport CNN, uReport Fox News and Have Your Say BBC. The text also analyzes the Czech news media, especially ČT24 news channel and main Czech news websites. The thesis closes with a comparison between Czech and world media and offers analysis of different media organizations approaches to user-generated content. Both parts of the thesis focus on web and television news service.
Social network discourse - Facebook, the virtual community

Having focused on Facebook, the virtual community, the aim of this thesis was to study the social network discourse. Due to very complicated structure of the social network my study dealt with the discourse on its contextual level, which enabled us to interconnect particular attributes of this difficult system and gradually revealed their mutual influence. The contextual line of appropriate chapters then joined the discoursive factors of the social network, starting with their makro level continuing to their very specific manifestation - the communication acts. Within the conclusions of this thesis it is to finally analyze in which form the concrete discoursive perspectives have projected into the more exact demonstration of the social network discourse.
Phenomenon of digital labor and its diverse practice in use of blogs in the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis, The phenomenon of digital labor and its diverse practice in use of blogs in the Czech Republic, aims to bring the current definition of the concept of digital labor and its applicability into the Czech blogosphere. The theoretical part of this work focuses on the demarcation, definition of, and perception of the concept of digital labor, and the blogosphere, which is mainly based on theoretical concepts of Christian Fuchs, Sebastian Sevignani, Ursula Huws, Trebor Scholz, that proceeded the political economic theory of Karl Marx. The analytical part of the thesis presents the environment of the Czech blogosphere, which is based on the interpretation of the data of quantitative research conducted in the Czech Republic as part of a wider project IPREX BLOGBAROMETERM in 2014 and 2015 and secondly on qualitative research, which aims to answer the research question, if Czech bloggers perceive their creative activity as work and leisure activities, or merge their very different activities in one.
