The influence of early English language learning on the development of selected language competencies of elementary school students
Michalová, Šárka ; Špačková, Klára (advisor) ; Kacafírková, Petra (referee)
The question of the asset of early foreign language learning is a frequently discussed topic. Following prevailing opinion in society, that ‚the sooner, the better ', the beginning of compulsory foreign language learning is continually shifting in lower grades at primary school. A lot of children have already started with foreign language learning in kindergarten. Researches, which support the benefits of the approach, focus on a very narrow aspect of foreign language acquisition (pronunciation) or survey these facts with a specific group of inhabitants (immigrants). As experts point out, there is no significant benefit of early instructions ascertained in the Czech Republic. However, the research focused only on adults. We do not have any further evidence of the advantages of starting to learn a foreign language early. Therefore, the author focused on comparing the level of foreign language competences of two groups of pupils after their two-year compulsory instructions of English at primary school. The aim was to compare the level of their language competence in English and the learners' potential difficulties by the learners with early learning experience and by the learners without previous experience of foreign language learning before the beginning of compulsory learning at primary school....

Based on a study of the literature and research reports, a questionnaire for parents was first prepared and then submitted, which could help teachers find children at risk, but also draw attention to parents' risky behavior, which could exacerbate difficulties in coping. Records of risk factors were compared with records of children's experience and behavior during school stays in nature. These were obtained through a pupil questionnaire survey and a structured questionnaire for accompanying teachers. The diploma thesis managed to determine the positive activities that parents should choose before the child leaves for school in nature. The results of the research confirmed a significant connection between longing and the factor of previous experience with staying away from...

Čanigová, Gabriela ; Špačková, Klára (advisor) ; Sotáková, Hana (referee)
Gabriela Čanigová Teaching focused on the development of foreigners` language skills - benefits and disadvantages at work with class in Science in 2nd grade ABSTRACT The work will deal with the development of language skills of pupils with different mother tongue and evaluation of the possible benefits of including such focused activities in teaching the whole class. As many research surveys show, weakened language skills in the mother tongue are not only for pupils with a different mother tongue. Adjusting teaching to pupils with different foreigners language could enrich other pupils as well. On the other hand, it is possible that these activities will be too simple for most pupils, which could lead to a loss of interest. Another possible risk appears to be time consuming, which could lead to the need to reduce the scope and possibly the content of education. The research will be carried out in two research groups in the form of experimental teaching of selected topics of the subject Prvouka. In the experimental group the teaching (explanation, work with text, etc.) will be adapted to the language skills of pupils with different foreigners language. Such oriented education will emphasize an increased level of graphic visualization of the content of teaching and creation of space for communication and...
