Platform for Digital Predistortion Based on RFSoC
Kříčka, Tomáš ; Král, Jan
Signal predistortion occurs in modern communication systems and in other systems requiring linear signal amplification. The objective is to learn about signal predistortion, the QORVO 1800 MHz FDD radio front-end and to implement the front-end control using RFSoC and Matlab computer program. I focus on controlling individual attenuators and amplifiers on the QORVO front-end with a program written in C. Using a single board computer Raspberry Pi 4B running Linux. Furthermore, the work involves the application of a SCPI server that operates based on TCP packets. As part of the introduction to the front-end, the power characteristic of the power amplifier is measured.
Lithium-ion battery SOH analysis
Sedlařík, Marek ; Kazda, Tomáš ; Vyroubal, Petr
Battery State-of-Health modelling can significantly reduce the amount of costly laboratory tests in the application being analyzed. This paper discusses the prediction of the State-of-Health, an indicator of battery life, using support vector regression. This experiment is performed on a sample cell of a lithium-ion battery, which is subjected to a method known as the Constant Current Constant Voltage method, where the battery is charged and discharged at a constant current of 0.5 C. Although this method in this paper is applied in laboratory conditions and it is a controlled method, or it deviates from the battery cycling of real applications, it can be used in these applications, thus the scope of this research can predict the State-of-Health also in the areas of batteries used in mobile devices or electromobility. The State-of-Health indicator then determines whether the battery is still suitable for that primary application. Assuming that we can predict this parameter with some accuracy, it is then also possible to tell after what length of time a battery will need to be replaced and when it will be suitable for secondary applications such as stationary storage. Once it reaches that state, this calculation can be further applied to those applications as well.
Investigation of the protein interactions involved in the acylation of Escherichia coli α-hemolysin
Nemčeková, Lucia ; Osičková, Adriana (advisor) ; Šulc, Miroslav (referee)
Uropathogenic bacteria Escherichia coli are the primary cause of urinary tract infections. One of the virulence factors of these bacteria is α-hemolysin (HlyA), a protein belonging to the cytolytic RTX (Repeats in ToXin) toxins secreted by some gram-negative pathogenic bacteria. RTX toxins share several characteristic structural and functional domains and segments: (1) an N-terminal hydrophobic pore-forming domain, (2) an acylated segment where two lysine residues are modified by fatty acid chains, (3) a repetitive (RTX) domain binding calcium ions, and (4) a C-terminal secretion signal recognized by the type 1 secretion system. HlyA is synthesized as an inactive protoxin (proHlyA), which is activated by covalent acylation of the ε-amino groups of two conserved lysine residues, K564 and K690, by the co-expressed acyltransferase HlyC. Acyl-acyl carrier protein (acyl-ACP) serves as the acyl chain donor. However, the molecular mechanism by which the acyltransferase HlyC interacts with acyl-ACP and proHlyA is currently poorly understood. The aim of this bachelor thesis was to identify amino acid residues involved in the interaction between HlyC and ACP proteins. Based on an in silico interaction model of HlyC and ACP, positively charged residues in HlyC and negatively charged residues in ACP were...
The origins of the theory of pure nature
Cavigioli, Jean-François ; Frývaldský, Pavel (advisor) ; Mohelník, Tomáš (referee)
This master's thesis, entitled "The origins of the theory of pure nature", seeks to understand how, in the 16th century, commentators on St Thomas Aquinas came to conceive of human nature as having a purely natural end rather than a supernatural one. This is known as the theory of pure nature. The aim of our work is to study, on the basis of the work of Father de Lubac, the ways in which they were led to develop such a theory. Our first part is devoted to Cajetan and his application to human nature of the principle of Aristotelian origin. Our second part concerns the heresy of Baius and the use of the potentia Dei absoluta. Our third part is devoted to the limbo theory and the question of natural beatitude.
Filtrations of modules
Dubov, Mykyta ; Trlifaj, Jan (advisor) ; Šaroch, Jan (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to familiarise the reader with the concept of a C-filtration, to show properties of special instances of C-filtrations and to construct structures corresponding to general C-filtrations. The first chapter deals with the definition of a C-filtration, a transfinite composition series and its length, the semiartinian module, the socle-sequence and its length, a proof of the Jordan-Hölder Theorem for transfinite composition series and a proof of the properties relevant to general semiartinian modules. In the second chapter, the concept of a closed subset of an ordinal and its properties are defined and proved, this concept is key to the proof of Hill's Lemma, which for a general C-filtration provides a complete, distributive, dense sublattice containing the given C-filtration. The last third chapter deals with the dual concept to the concept of the socle-sequence, the decreasing Loewy series. We prove the equality of their lengths for modules of finite length and analyze the relations of their lengths for the case of general modules.
The influence of belinostat inhibition on the activity of selected reductases from AKR and SDR superfamilies.
Slámová, Adéla ; Wsól, Vladimír (advisor) ; Macháček, Miloslav (referee)
Charles University Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biochemical Sciences Candidate: Bc. Adéla Slámová Supervisor: prof. Ing. Vladimír Wsól, Ph.D. Title of diploma thesis: The influence of belinostat inhibition on the activity of selected reductases from AKR and SDR superfamilies Anthracycline antibiotics (ANTs) are important antineoplastic agents. One of them, daunorubicin (DAUN), is used for the treatment of acute leukaemia and other malignancies in children and adults. Factors limiting its clinical use include mainly resistance and cardiotoxicity. Enzymes from aldo-keto reductase (AKR) and short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase (SDR) superfamilies mediated the reduction of DAUN to its C-13 alcohol metabolite daunorubicinol (DAUNOL). The metabolite is more cardiotoxic, less antineoplastic, and is causing anthracycline resistance. This diploma thesis aimed to examine the inhibitory effect of belinostat on the activity of AKR1A1, 1B1, 1B10, 1C3, and CBR1. The specific enzyme activity and inhibitory potential were estimated in vitro using recombinant enzymes, and the enzymatic production of DAUNOL was evaluated by the liquid chromatography (UHPLC) system. The inhibition was decreased in order AKR1C3  AKR1B10  AKR1A1  AKR1B1  CBR1. The most inhibited enzyme, AKR1C3, expressed 50,7%...

Proportionality of the electoral system for the Chamber of Deputies
Kohlová, Barbora ; Hřebejk, Jiří (referee)
Proportionality of the electoral system for the Chamber of Deputies Abstract Proportional system allocates to a party a percentage of seats equal to the percentage of the votes received in the election. Because of the indivisibility of seats and in the interest of the functionality of the elected body, full proportionality can never be achieved. However, its level can be significantly influenced by manipulating the variables of the electoral system. Because of the contradiction with the principles of proportional representation and the principle of equality required by the Constitution the Constitutional Court in its decision Pl. ÚS 44/2017 just eight months before the elections, it repealed important provisions of the Act on Elections to the Parliament of the Czech Republic, in particular the electoral formula and the additive closing clause for coalitions. Due to the upcoming elections to the Chamber of Deputies, Parliament was forced to quickly adopt a compromising amendment. The main goal of this thesis is to determine whether this amendment, adopted as Act No. 189/2021 Coll., which replaced the existing D'Hondt method with a non-traditional Imperiali quota and introduced a second, nationwide, scrutiny to redistribute the remaining votes, fulfilled the requirements of the Constitutional Court and...
Low return rates for women after maternity/parental leave: a case study of a selected organisation
Majtaníková, Denisa ; Šťovíčková Jantulová, Magdaléna (advisor) ; Moree, Dana (referee)
The thesis is a case study of a selected organization that deals with the issue of low return rate of women after maternity/parental leave. The theoretical framework is based on the identification of the key factors affecting women's return to work, including the Work Life Balance concept, C. Hakim's Preference Theory, the concept of employee turnover, R. A. Karasek's Demand-Control Model and J. Siegrist's Effort-Return Imbalance Model. The empirical part of the research relates to the research question identifying the factors that influence the low return rate of women to the mentioned organization. The research is based on two sources of data - analysis of selected documents, complementing the context of in-depth semi-structured research interviews. The sample consists of selected women of the mentioned organization. With regard to theories and other relevant documents, three significant factors influencing the low return of women to the said organisation were identified - the difficulty of the work, low financial remuneration and the nature of the work. The fourth less significant factor was the lack of communication from the organisation after women go on maternity leave. The research concludes with a discussion and a conclusion.
