A Case Study of the Training of Elite Czech Female Runner
Švecová, Anna ; Červinka, Pavel (advisor) ; Franková, Aneta (referee)
Title: A Case Study of the Training of Elite Czech Female Runner Objectives: The aim of this study was to analyze the training load of an elite endurance runner in relation to performance and biochemical factors of oxygen transfer. Methods: The method of content analysis of training diaries and results of laboratory tests of probands was used to develop this thesis. The data provided by the proband's trainer at the time were used for processing. Results: The work showed that the area of loading in terms of metabolic cover that most affected performance growth was the anaerobic threshold area. Furthermore, the work showed us that the proband did not have stable biochemical values and did not confirm that the growth in performance was accompanied by stable and increased values of biochemical parameters in oxygen transfer. Keyworks: training diaries, analysis, intensity and volume of the training load

Stress fractures in endurance runners and their causes
Hlaváčová, Tereza ; Červinka, Pavel (advisor) ; Feher, Jan (referee)
Title: Stress fractures in endurance runners and their causes Objectives: The objective of this bachelor thesis is to identify possible corelation between stress fractures of Czech female endurance runners and their menstrual cycle irregularities, changes in training intensity, reduced energetic intake as well as changes in body regeneration. Methods: Qualitative research was carried out using the survey method with means of non-standardised, anonymous questionnaire. The results were further processed and evaluated using MS Word and MS Excel applications. Results: The results of the research led to the conclusion that a corelation can be detected between stress fractures of female endurance runners and their menstrual cycle irregularities, changes in training intensity, reduced energetic intake and impaired regeneration. The highest degree of co- occurrence was observed with increased training intensity. The next most common connection to stress fractures was found with menstrual cycle irregularities, followed by changes in body regenerations and decreased energy intake. Keywords: Endurance running, female runner, stress fracture, menstrual cycle, the female athlete triad
Technique of ground contact of the Czech elite female runners
Petrikovičová, Markéta ; Červinka, Pavel (advisor) ; Feher, Jan (referee)
Title: Foot strikes technique of elite Czech female runners. Aims: The main aim of this thesis was to analyse the pedalling of elite Czech female runners at the beginning and at the end of the main part of the training unit. Subsequently, to compare the results with the literature on the subject, to answer the research questions and to formulate conclusions. Methods of work: Kinematic analysis was used to create this work. Considering the objectives of the thesis, a qualitative method was chosen with subsequent recording of key moments of the foot strike technique in a recording sheet. Results: The fatigue during the main part of the training unit of the Czech elite female runners did not affect their pedaling technique. Female athletes who specialize in middle distances usually adopted a forefoot or midfoot landing strategy, while long- distance runners are characterized by a heel strike. Key words: ground contact, analysis, elite female runners, pronation, supination
Occurrence of injuries in Czech athletic representatives
Hojsáková, Jolana ; Červinka, Pavel (advisor) ; Feher, Jan (referee)
Abstact Title: Incidence of injuries in the Czech athletics national team Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis is to determine the frequency and location of injuries in athletes of the Czech national team, whether their injuries recur and, if so, the types of injuries that recur more often. I also examine how and how often their recovery takes place. Also whether the frequency of visits to individual procedures within the annual training cycle changes. Methods: We performed an exploratory method using a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire has open, closed and semi-open questions. Then we evaluated the results of the questionnaires from the respondents using a quantitative approach. Results: We recorded the most common injuries occurring in athletes. The most common injuries in athletes are hamstring tearing, stretching or tearing of the Achilles tendon, ankle sprain and stress fracture. Keywords: athletics, Czech national team, injuries, regeneration methods
A study of the realationship of individual phases of the 110 m hurdles with overall performance
Slavíček, Lukáš ; Červinka, Pavel (advisor) ; Vindušková, Jitka (referee)
Title: A study of the relationship of individual phases of the 110 m hurdles with overall performance Objectives: The main goal of this diploma thesis was to use correlation analysis to determine which phases of the 110 m hurdles have the closest relationship (most highly correlated) with overall performance at different performance levels. Another goal was to determine how the time courses of their performances differ. Methods: Considering the objectives of this thesis, a quantitative research method was chosen, namely a correlation survey. Kinematic analysis using the computer program Kinovea was used to analyze the filmed material. To determine the correlation between the different phases of the 110 m hurdles (1st acceleration phase, 2nd acceleration phase, maximum speed phase, speed endurance phase and 3rd acceleration phase) with the overall performances in each category, we chose correlation analysis using an analytical tool (correlation matrix) in Microsoft Excel. Results: In all three performance levels, the overall performance was most correlated with the performance in the maximum speed phase, during which the Czech hurdlers' time courses differed the most from the world's hurdling elite, as in this phase was the largest decline in performance. When examining correlations, we found that...
Analysis of the diet habits of an endurance athletes in the youth and junior categories
Gräfová, Martina ; Červinka, Pavel (advisor) ; Kotlík, Kamil (referee)
Title: Analysis of dietary habits of cross-country skiers and biathletes in youth and junior categories Aims: The theoretical part of this diploma thesis summarises information on the nutrition of endurance athletes. The practical part analyses and evaluates the dietary habits of Czech cross- country skiers and biathletes of youth and junior categories during the preparatory phase, focusing on food composition, the ratio of individual nutrients, use of nutritional supplements and fluid intake. Methods: Eighteen men and thirteen women participated in the study. It was conducted via a questionnaire based on open-ended questions. The questionnaire focused on information about the male and female respondents necessary to conduct the research, their dietary intake, including fluids, nutritional supplements, and physical activity over a two-week period. Results: Most athletes, especially women, ingest insufficient dietary energy compared to their estimated energy expenditure. They consume most of their calories in the latter part of the day, most at dinner. Of the macronutrients ingested, only the amount of carbohydrate is insufficient. In contrast, the amount of protein is above the recommended amount for most men and women. Despite the fact that endurance sportsmen and women need a higher fluid intake...
