Specific Needs of Deaf People Studying at Universities in Czech Republic

The thesis focuses on the issue of education of people with hearing disabilities at universities in the Czech Republic. It emphasizes the specific educational needs of people with hearing disabilities who study at the university, and which meet the needs by support services. Work specifically address to the different types of support services and centres to support students with special educational needs at universities that offer these services. The survey, conducted in the form of online questionnaire, found that the use of support services is frequented and at the same time, the quality of these services is rated as very high. The survey also followed the use of modifications graduation exam correlated using a modification of entrance exams for universities. Created an online questionnaire in the Czech sign language provides effective feedback deaf students to the centres to support students with special educational needs. This thesis deals with the preferences in the field of employee benefits among different generations of employees. It is focused on the significance of the employee benefits, on the providing system, on the principles of providing and also on new trends in the field of employee benefits connected mainly with the concept of work-life balance. The thesis deals with the generations of baby boomers, X and Y and their preferences in the field of employee benefits. This bachelor thesis is focused on family policies concerning employees on maternity and parental leave. It analyses the employment of parents, child care institutions and the use of alternative jobs. The thesis mentions best practices of family policies in Slovakia, Poland, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. The thesis also includes a case study in the organization focused on the approach of this organization to employees on maternity and parental leave and particular tools used in the organization to support the return of these employees and work-life balance. The Learning Process and the Difficult Moments of an Occupational Track in Helping Professions

This bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of a lifelong learning process and on the people who work in helping professions. At first, it provides a view on specific requirements of helping profession and on the difficult moments connected with their (people's) performance. Further it describes particular forms of lifelong learning and formal and informal education that tries to find out which of these forms is evaluated as beneficial to cope with the demanding points during the performance of helping profession. By using a qualitative method of an interview with some chosen respondents, workers in helping profession, an empirical inquiry about the people's experience of the difficult moments at work and about each form of lifelong learning and education is performed. Subsequently, the thesis analyses the gained findings then draws up a conclusion and a recommendation which arose from the analysis of the interview. Mnemonic in Teaching Adults a Foreign Language

The aim of this thesis is to analyse a foreign language teaching regarding the use of mnemonics as special procedures which lead to memorize the curriculum. The thesis deals with types and phases of the memory and with the process of forgetting. It defines the term learning, describes learning styles and characterizes aspects of effective learning. Subsequently the thesis is concerned with the procedures for consolidation of information in the memory, the attributes of effective revision and above all the mnemonic procedures. The attention is payed to principles, types and effectiveness of mnemonics and their implementation into the foreign language teaching. The next part deals with the aspects of andragogical didactics, their specific application and with androdidactic principles. Afterwards the thesis pursues the qualitative research whose aim was to analyse the use of mnemonics within the foreign language teaching. It is based on observation method in courses for adults at two language schools.
Analysis of Variables Impacting the Status of Single Mothers on the Labour Market

This thesis is trying to find out what variables could affect the situation of single mothers on the labor market in the Czech Republic. First, there are identified nine variables that can affect their position on the labor market. Analysis of these variables leads to its subsequent division into two groups - individual and objective. In the context of individual variables, the focus is on a financial and material situation, support of wider family, job aspirations and a need for harmonization of work and personal life of single mothers. As objective variables is dealt with the social and family policy, possibilities of preschool and school facilities, access of an employer in terms of using a family-friendly approach and a risk of discrimination, a risk of unemployment. The subsequent empirical survey with the qualitative design utilizes personal experiences of single mothers from their activity on the labor market in the context of selected variables. Evaluation of the survey confirms six out of nine effects such as influencing variables. The thesis concludes evaluating of all the facts while there is a further demonstration of possible extension of this investigated issue. Hardiness of Senior Citizens participating in Universities of the Third Age

The population is getting older. Prognosis predict increasing numbers of people in the age group 65+ in the future. Therefore, it is necessary to think about involving senior citizens in social development and supporting their self-sufficiency up to a higher age. Education is one of the ways to achieve that. The focus of this thesis is on education within the Universities of the Third Age, which it studies from a new point of view. Hardiness is seen as part of personal characteristics which helps the individual cope with stressful situations. Research in this thesis is trying to find out if the senior citizens attending the Universities of the Third Age have a higher scores on hardiness then those who do not attend, and also whether they have a more positive outlook on their health and meaning of their lives. The thesis also studies whether the scores on hardiness depends on gender, formal education level and whether it is connected to perceived social support. The results show that there is no difference in the scores on hardiness resulting from gender. Senior citizens attending the Universities of the Third Age have a more positive outlook on their health and they also perceive their lives as more meaningful. Predictors of Career Success among Humanities and Social Sciences Graduates

The bachelor thesis is focused on career success predictors identification among Humanities and Social Sciences college graduates. In theoretical part, different approaches to career concepts are compared and existing research on career success predictors identification is summarized. Attention is paid also to career initiation of college graduates and their employability on the labour market with a comparison of different Fields of Study. Empirical research investigation among college graduates of aforementioned Study Fields, who graduated five to six years ago, has been made, and the extent of association between reached career success and the course of study has been measured. Comparison of institutionalization of senior education between the Czech Republic and Kingdom of Spain

This bachelor's thesis focuses on comparison of institutionalization of elderly education in the Czech Republic and in Spain, especially on comparison of institution of the University of the Third Age in the both countries. The work is divided into five chapters. Introductory part of the thesis is devoted to theoretical bases of education of elderly people and the importance of education of older adults for the society and an individual himself, based on prognosis of trends in demographical situation in Europe. The main part of the thesis is focused on institutionalization of elderly education and there are introduced the most important forms of elderly education in the Czech Republic and in Spain. This part further results in the comparison of institution of the University of the Third Age in the both countries according to six elected criteria. The aim of the thesis is to find out if the institution of the University of the Third Age in Spain is based on the similar model as the institution of the University of the Third Age in the Czech Republic. The isolation of an individual and a working group within an organisation

This thesis deals with isolation of individuals and workgroups within an organization. Isolation of the individual is here seen to be associated with its ability to adapt to working environment. Also pay attention to factors that can contribute significantly to the isolation of the individual and those are conflicts within the working group and poor workplace relations. The next section describes the essence of formation of isolation of a working group, which may be based on processes that are reasonably necessary for the functioning of the group, in its extreme extent, may have a negative effect on the group. Isolation should be seen as an impulse for change, which is closely related to the ability of learning. For this reason, the work also included the issue of organizational change, education of individuals and the use of creative techniques. These procedures can also serve as a prevention of isolation. I included my practical knowledge in this area in a case study that describes the situation in the working group, which is already in isolation and in connection with the phenomena that occur in this group, some members feel isolated.
