In the practical part, I surveyed the differences between the genetic method and the analytical-synthetic method concerning development of reading. I tried to find out about reading ability development in these children and whether there appear problems during the teaching and to what extent. I focused on the finding, if the efficiency of both methods is the same and I tried to discover if it is also possible to use standards from the 80s, which were concretized in the textbook "Zkouška čtení" (Matějček a kol. 1987) and standardized during time period when was used only the analytical-synthetic method of reading.
