Spatial activity and diet of Rousettus aegyptiacus in Cyprus: Does conservation of the only European fruit bat depend on supporting alien plants?
Lučan, R. K. ; Bartonička, T. ; Čížek, Martin ; Jedlička, Petr ; Řeřucha, Šimon ; Šálek, M. ; Nicolaou, H. ; Horáček, I.
During the recent decade the Cypriot population of the Egyptian fruit bats, the only European megabat, dramatically decreased and active conservation management is urgently needed. However, quite a limited information is available on details of its life history and ecology. Our study focused on spatial activity and food habits of three nearby colonies of fruitbats in mid summer and late winter when food supply is supposed to be particularly limited. Using radio-tracking techniques (both manual and automatic), we investigated spatial activity and food habits of 43 fruitbats (summer: 8 females, 11 males; winter: 9 females, 15 males).

Control electronics for laser systems
Čížek, Martin
The presentation is focused on the electronics being developed and used in experimental setups at the department of coherence optics of the ISI ASCR. Specialized detection and control cards for applications in the field of laser interferometry are the main part of the presented work. The contribution also discusses utilizing CAN bus and ethernet in the modern laboratory practice.

Laser interference nano-comparator for length sensor calibration in nanometric scale
Číp, Ondřej ; Mikel, Břetislav ; Čížek, Martin ; Šmíd, Radek ; Buchta, Zdeněk ; Lazar, Josef
In the work we present new laser measuring system for precise calibrations of length measuring transducers. This gauge is called nano-comparator because the resolution of the positioning of the measuring probe is in order of nanometers. The gauge works fully self-controlled and it is equipped by control software which is able to calibrate wide area of transducers. We put main stress to compensating of thermal dilatation of the gauge body and to eliminating of imperfection of linear guide ways which are used for positioning of the testing probe of the gauge. The work presents the first records of scale calibration of an incremental transducer.

Interferometer controlled positioning for nanometrology
Lazar, Josef ; Číp, Ondřej ; Čížek, Martin ; Hrabina, Jan ; Šerý, Mojmír ; Klapetek, P.
We present a system for dimensional nanometrology based on scanning probe microscopy techniques (primarily atomic force microscopy, AFM) for detection of sample profile combined with interferometer controlled positioning. The interferometric setup not only improves resolution of the position control but also ensures direct traceability to the primary etalon of length. The system was developed to operate at and in cooperation with the Czech metrology institute for calibration purposes and nanometrology. The interferometers are supplied from a frequency doubled Nd:YAG laser stabilized by linear absorption spectroscopy in molecular iodine and the interferometric configuration controls the stage position in all six degrees of freedom.

Pricing of Financial derivatives – European options
Mertl, Jakub ; Pánková, Václava (advisor) ; Čížek, Martin (referee)
In the present study I deal with a pricing of derivatives especially with the European option. In the first chapter there are described basic principles of pricing financial derivatives. I focus on the options strategies from the simplest to the more difficult one. The second chapter is dedicated to the Binomial pricing model. It is introduced its derivation, application, its pro and con. Next chapter contains a description of Black-Scholes model. Again it is explained derivation of this model and its properties. At the end of this chapter it is described relationship between Binomial and Black-Scholes models. The forth chapter is consisted of an analysis of real data of stocks company Philip Morris International, Lehman brothers Holding and American Insurance Group. I focus on the relationship between shares and options in time of the financial crisis. Last chapter is dedicated to the description of software concerning options which was created in Microsoft Excel and which is part of this study.

Branch of bank, change of its status and its value in contemporary Czech banking system.
Čížek, Martin ; Jablonský, Petr (advisor)
This study concerns view of contemporary branch of bank. It shortly deals with history of bank branch in Czech environment after 1989. Further the study analyses its importance, advantages and disadvantages comparing direct banking - online banking in particular. The key point of the study is to answer the question if there is a future of branch of bank. Whether it will cooperate successfully with internet online channels of communication or it will be superseded by online banking at all.
