Bullying in the workplace in banking

The Bachelor's thesis deals with bullying in the workplace in banking, where bullying is defined as a long-term psychological terror in the workplace. The work contains an explanation of these notions that go along with bullying, these are mobbing, when bullying is by colleagues, bossing is bullying by a superior, and the last important term is staffing, when bullying is by subordinates. The main objective is to describe and characterize workplace bullying, bullying phases, bullying participants, assess how much employees in banking experience with bullying, negative effects on employees and organisation. The work is divided into two units - the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the problem of bullying in the workplace, mobbing - its definition, history, participants, socio-demographic aspects, phases and last but not least forms and objectives. Then, this section discusses bossing and staffing. The practical part discusses banking from the perspective of legislation, laws that concern the banking sector. Subsequently, the paper looks at research in the form of a questionnaire survey to determine the frequency of bullying in the banking sector, the form of bullying and who is most likely to become a participant in bullying. The practical part includes an assessment of the level of bullying in banking and a proposal for preventive measures to eliminate bullying in banking.
Improving the company's employee remuneration system

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of improving the employee remuneration system of a selected business entity. Specifically, it concerns ČSOB and the branch Nám. Fr. Křižík 348/1 390 01 in Tábor. The aim of the presented work is to propose appropriate measures leading to the improvement of the remuneration system of the company. Data collection is based on observation and questionnaire survey. The bachelor thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part focuses on the most important concepts in the field of employee remuneration and motivation. It defines the key laws, decrees and regulations related to employee remuneration. The second part analyses the results of employee effectiveness and satisfaction with the reward system. Based on the findings, the thesis concludes with an evaluation of the data and subsequent suggestions for measures that will ensure reform in the ČSOB branch's reward system.
Design and implementation of a virtual bank office

The bachelor's thesis entitled "Design and implementation of a virtual bank branch" deals with the implementation of modern technology for bank branch virtualization. The main goal of this work is to analyze the needs of clients and employees of the branch and to design a virtual bank branch in the program Neos, so that it is as effective as possible. Literary research forms a theoretical basis, which contains a definition of the term virtual reality and its development. The development of virtual reality is also followed by current trends and use in practice. Last but not least, the literature search describes modern trends in banking. The practical part is processed by the Human Centered Design method, which is used to analyze the needs of clients. The virtual bank branch is processed through the Neos metaversion virtual environment program. The virtual bank branch offers clients the option of opening an account, canceling an account, sending a loan application, sending a payment and displaying information. At the end of the practical part, the creation process is described, including the programming of functions that will enable the clients of the above-mentioned service.
Blockchain-based DeFi lending: A challenge to traditional finance?

The goal of the thesis is to identify the factors that determine the default rate of the loans, with a particular focus on the pioneering research of blockchain-based decentralised loans. The thesis describes blockchain technology, its development, and functions, introduces decentralised finance (DeFi), and examines its advantages and challenges. The thesis's analytic part compares DeFi loans and peer-to-peer loans as an alternative to the traditional financial system. The blockchain-based DeFi loans realized through lending Compound are analysed by a logit model that predicts liquidation rate and examines if it is possible to perform the prediction without any information about the borrower due to the complete anonymity in DeFi lending. To illustrate the difference, the data from the Czech peer-to-peer lending platform Zonky was used to set up two logit models. While the first model uses all available variables, the second model is based only on loan-related variables to achieve a more precise comparison to DeFi loans. Results revealed several statistically significant determinants of default rate in the case of all three models. Main topic of the diploma thesis is financial literacy, more specifically the risk of its consequences. First part of the thesis deals with definition of financial literacy, its causes and consequences. Next chapters are devoted to monetary literacy, ignorance of which causes many problems in the area of credits, loans and subsequently may lead to indebtedness. This part of the text defines important key words, whose knowledge in essential for using of banking services and products Last chapters of the theoretical part introduce the Consumer Protection Act and the issues of seizures and insolvency. Main objective of the practical part of the thesis is to carry out a research among university students in order to summarize the level of their awareness, knowledge and experience in the financial area.
Archetypal analysis of students' behavior in banking sector

Archetypal analysis is statistical method used in market segmentation, however, it has minor results of application in economics. This method finds out typical behavior - archetypes. Every sample point consists of one or more archetypes and every archetype consists of few sample points. In this thesis, we explore behavior of college students at Czech universities in banking sector as there is no evidence of this research. In the model with four archetypes, the archetypes named the Pauper, the Buffett, the Elvis and the Sleeping Beauty arose.

The aim of submitted thesis Supervision in banking is to define the nature and the importance of banking supervision, to justify its existence and to analyze the applicable mechanisms while the system of banking regulation and supervision in this thesis is primarily examined in the European context, with a focus on the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into five main chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the financial system and the importance of banks in this system, it defines the characteristics of banking systems, provides the definition of the term bank and describes the banking system and the banking environment in the Czech Republic. The second chapter focuses on general aspects of banking regulation and supervision, it defines and distinguishes these concepts; furthermore, it specifies its objectives and deals with the arguments against banking regulation and supervision. The third chapter analyzes the various instruments of banking regulation, in particular the banking license, and other particular requirements, including but not limited to capital adequacy requirement. The chapter also deals with the compulsory deposits insurance and the position of the central bank as a lender of last resort. Information support in financial institution

(anglicky) This thesis entitled Information support in a financial institution discusses how information services and resources are currently used internally in an institution focusing on the Czech banking environment. The reader is thus provided an insight directly into the organization and the position it takes towards working with information aiming at fulfilment of its employees' information needs. The thesis also reflects description of the most important information sources. Information needs of employees were analyzed and identified based on their frequency of occurrence and distribution across the bank. The following part of the work covers detailed identification of information services. The reader is hereby given the opportunity to find out where, by whom and to what extent the services are used. The conclusion deals primarily with the information models of the flow of information in the organization and the analysis of various entities affecting the relevant processes.
