Assessing of the Financial Situation of a Company Using Time Series

Abstract Master’s thesis about „Assessing of the financial situation of a company using time series” focuses on a detailed assessment of the economic situation of the state-owned enterprise DIAMO between years 2005–2014. The theoretical part describes methods and indicators of strategic, financial and statistical analyses, which are in the next chapter sequentially applied on the analysed company. The content of the final chapter introduce proposals of elimination of the risk areas of the state-owned enterprise, while the greatest emphasis will be applied on the issue of rising shares of receivables and liabilities to total assets and ensuring positive economic result in corporate profit. The main object of this master’s thesis is assessing financial efficiency of state-owned enterprise DIAMO, afterward identifying risk areas and introducing possible precautions, which will lead to overall greater economic health of the enterprise itself.

A Draft of a Corporate Financial Plan

The diploma thesis focuses on a corporate financial plan proposal, and consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with theoretical solutions of financial planning. The practial part contains analyzes showing the current state of the corporation. Further, a financial plan for 2016-2019 year period is compiled. The thesis concludes with an evaluation and examination of compiled financial plans.

This diploma thesis analyses the financial situation of TIEFENBACH s. r. o. company within the years 2007 – 2014, by selected indicators of the financial analysis. The values of indicators will be arranged in time series and, by using a regressive analysis, the trend and development will be estimated. The thesis also includes proposals of solutions for identified problems which should result in improvement of the financial situation of the company in the following years.

This thesis examines part of financial analysis focused on financial risks arising from the results of the financial analysis. Further defines the terms relating to the areas of risk, risk analysis and risk reduction methods. The analytical part is concerned with the present state of the selected company. The final section contains suggestions for improving the financing and stabilization of the company.

This Master's thesis deals with the evaluation of the performance of the company Měšťanský pivovar Polička, a. s. In the first part of this thesis are executed its theoretical resources and subsequently, in the second part, is accomplished an evaluation of the company by using of benchmarking techniques. The company Měšťanský pivovar Polička, a. s. is compared with four competing companies by using of financial analysis methods - method of vertical and horizontal analyses and method of financial ratios. In the concluding part are proposed strategical modifications in the company for its better performance.

Analyzed company SITA CZ, a.s. is one of the market leaders providing services regarding of treatment with non-hazardous and hazardous waste. This company is analyzed in two aspects within diploma thesis. Evaluation focuses on market position and performance within specific economic activities according to NACE rev.2 – 382, at first. Second evaluation is focused on competitive benchmarking that should pin-point particular weaknesses. The main goal of the diploma thesis is to propose solutions to improve company performance and market position.
