The Language of a Czech Minority in Repinka in Siberia

This thesis contributes to the research on Czech dialects in language enclaves abroad. Its objective is to describe the language of the Czech minority in the villages of Repinka, Voskresenka and Novohradka in Russia, Omsk, the territory of Kalachinsk. The research is restricted only to the oldest generations, i.e. people over the age of fifty-five, whose language use is analyzed on these traditional levels of language: phonology, morphology, syntax and marginally also lexicology. The theoretical part of this research deals with the history of Czech immigrants in Tsarist Russia. The study then focuses on the history of Czech immigrants in regions connected with moving to Siberia and on the present philological researches on the Czech community in Omsk region. The following part describes the methods of the data processing. Transcriptions of recorded speeches and prayers in the Czech language set down in Cyrillic alphabet were used as the input data. They were described separately for each language level. Most attention is paid to the elements which help to classify the dialect of Repinka under one of the dialect groups of the Czech language, and furthermore to language elements influenced by foreign languages (especially by Russian). Distribution of wildcat (Felis silvestris) in Czech Republic / geomatic modelling and ecological approach

Population of the European wildcat (Felis silvestris) are slowly recovering after a severe decline in the 18th century. The wildcat was a rare species already on the beginning of 19th century on the territory of Czech Republic. During the 20th century the species was considered to be extinct and the scarce records to be individuals dispersed from Carpathian or West-European population. Furthermore there was lack of evidence to this observations. With the expansion of photo monitoring methods, there comes pictures of wildcats from the Beskid Mountains, Bohemian Forest, The upper Palatine Forest and Doupov mountains. After more than 60 years there is finely a proof for the presence of wildcats in Czech Republic. To understand its space requirements and dispersion context, and to know if there is a place for wildcats to live in Czech Republic, we made a habitat model in ArcGIS. This rule-based model works with attributes like land cover type, duration of snow cover, aspect and the vertical heterogeneity of terrain. The model was applied also for Slovakia, because the evaluation data only comes from Slovakia. We found out that the occurence of wildcats in the model territory relate to broad-leaf forests, duration of snow cover (>20cm) not exceeding 50 days and the southern exposure. The endeavour of Czech countrymen living in Polish Zelów to retain Czech language

The thesis focuses on the effort to preserve Czech language among the Czech inhabitants of a Polish town of Zelow. The initial part of the paper deals with the methodology of my field research. The next part focuses on the main characteristics of the Czech countrymen in Zelow, especially their history, identity, religion and relations with the Polish majority. Selected aspects of the Viet ethnic group paremiology

This thesis examines selected aspects of the Việt Ethnic group paremiology based on field research which was carried out from January to June 2012 in Ho Chi Minh City. First, the thesis focuses on facts about paremiology and the Việt Ethnic group's language in general. Then, field research based on a quantitative survey regarding usage and knowledge about proverbs in Vietnam is included. Thesis deals in detail with the basic contextual symbolic nature of proverbs. Finally, chronological examination of some proverbs and their approximate age is incorporated.

Albanian community in Prague

Bachelor thesis focuses on the Albanian community in Prague, particularly the Kosovo Albanians and Albanians from Albania. It was developed based on field research and study of literature and Internet sources. The work is divided into six chapters. The introductory part is a topic of work. The second chapter describes the sources used and the respondents. The third focuses on the methodology of work, then on field research conducted through interviews and questionnaires. In the theoretical part of the work focused on the issue of Czech-Albanian relations and the country, where Albanians live. Empirical processes of field research conducted among Albanian respondents. In the last part of the thesis is summarized.

The language of Czech minority in Šumice in the Romanian Banat

This thesis contributes to a research on Czech dialects in language enclaves abroad. The aim of the paper is to describe the language of the Czech minority in the village of Šumice in Romanian Banat. All traditional levels of language are analyzed: phonological, morphological, syntactical, lexical and word-formation. The research was restricted only to the oldest generation, that means to the people over sixty-five. In the beginning, the author deals with the history of Czech immigrants in Romania and also with their contemporary life. Particular attention is paid to the history of Šumice. In the following part of the thesis, the methods of gathering material are described, as well as the further data processing. The research was supplemented with results of a dialectological questionnaire and with transcriptions of recorded speeches. For comparison, the author used transcriptions of recordings from the 1971 and also data about Šumice from the Český jazykový atlas (Czech Linguistic Atlas). The results of the research are described gradually, separately for each language level. Besides the facts found out on the basis of the questionnaires, the author also presents phenomena detected only in the recordings. Small sacral monuments in the countryside of Moravian Budejovice

This bachelor´s thesis comprehensively analyzes small religious buildings in the countryside, including the important sub-analyzes, which are aimed at the protection zones in the countryside, in the administrative area, ?ORP? (municipality with extended powers) of Moravian Budejovice. Small sacral monuments are focused and photographed on the 31/12/2014. Regarding the monuments that the territory is located in, their number, status or location were not known before. The main aim of this qualification work is a complex and clear demonstration of problems of small religious monuments in the area around Moravian Budejovice. The author of the thesis describes the state of these monuments today, and determines whether they still exist on the same place they should originally be. The author mentions damaged monuments and points to the possibility of their salvation. The introductory part describes theoretical and methodological procedures that were used in creating the work and challenging terrain survey. In the final part there are results for each municipality written in tables with observed attributes and the text contains important information specifying the current state of small religious buildings in each municipality. The work includes a base map, analytical charts and tables. All objects in a given area were focused and photographed, not only for purposes of the Department of Construction and Territorial Planning, but also for the Conservation Department that required to take a photograph of each building, and if possible, from multiple perspectives.
