Anti-Collision System Based on GPS
Varga, Marek ; Drahanský, Martin (referee) ; Orság, Filip (advisor)
Aircraft industry is constantly facing the need to increase security not only in the case of large machines, but also in the small aircraft. Many systems were established in order to inform the pilot of the impending hazard, where appropriate, about the location of the other aircraft. The main objective is to establish a facility which uses global position system for determining the position and imparts coordinates using wireless networks for subsequent determination of collision. The functions of satellites and GPS receivers, sending wireless data and collision calculation and synchronization of individual modules is described in detail.

Security of Electricity Supplies in the EU
Mandátová, Pavla ; Kučerová, Irah (advisor) ; Pacnerová, Eva (referee)
The aim of the thesis 'Security of electricity supplies in the EU' is to verify validity of the argument that three objective of EU energy policy which the European Council officially agreed upon in 2007 might be conflicting in their practical implementation. Those objectives involve: increasing the competitiveness of European economies and the availability of affordable energy, combating climate change and increasing security of supply. In order to verify relevance of this hypothesis, security of supply is narrowed down to the case of electricity as a specific commodity. With regard to the other two goals, the paper identifies main challenges to security of electricity supplies. Subsequently, the analysis of policy and legislative measures adopted at the EU level which should tackle these challenges is performed and their adequacy evaluated. Inadequate network infrastructure investment and absence of coordinated grid development as well as coordinated system operation are perceived as main concerns. Last but not least, the thesis analyzes interpretations of identified deficiencies provided by four theoretical approaches to European integration - neofunctionalism, liberal intergovernmentalism, new institutionalism and multi-level governance

Study of Sintering of Nanoceramic Materials
Dobšák, Petr ; Hanykýř, Vladimír (referee) ; Havlica, Jaromír (referee) ; Šída, Vladimír (referee) ; Cihlář, Jaroslav (advisor)
The topic of the Ph.D. thesis was focused on the process of sintering alumina and zirconia ceramic materials with the aim to compare kinetics of sintering sub-micro and nanoparticle systems. Zirconia ceramic powders stabilized by different amount of yttria addition in the concentration range of 0 – 8 mol% were used. The different crystal structure (secured by yttria stabilization) of zirconia, as found, did not play statistically proven role in the process of zirconia sintering. The possible influence was covered by other major factors as particle size and green body structure, which does affect sintering in general. According to the Herrings law, the formula predicting sintering temperature of materials with different particle size was defined. The predicted sintering temperatures were in good correlation with the experimental data for zirconia ceramic materials prepared from both, coarser submicrometer, and also nanometer powders. In case of alumina ceramics the predicted and experimentally observed sintering temperature values did not match very well. Mainly the nanoparticle alumina materials real sintering temperature values were markedly higher than predicted. The reason was, as shown in the work, strong agglomeration of the powders and strong irregularities of particle shape. The major role of green body microstructure in the sintering process was confirmed. The final density of ceramic materials was growing in spite of sintering temperature, which was decreasing together with pore - particle size ratio (materials with similar particle size were compared). Sintering temperature was increasing together with growing size of pores trapped in the green body structure. Clear message received from the above mentioned results was the importance of elimination of stable pores with high coordination number out off the green body microstructure during shaping ceramic green parts. Same sintering kinetics model was successfully applied on the sintering process of submicro- and also nanometer zirconia ceramics. Activation energy of nanometer zirconia was notably lower in comparison to submicrometer material. For the sintering of nanoparticle zirconia was typical so called “zero stage” of sintering, clearly visible on kinetic curves. It was found out, that processes running in zirconia “green” material during zero stage of sintering are heat activated and their activation energy was determined. Pores of submicrometer zirconia were growing in an open porosity stage of sintering just a slightly (1.3 times) compared to the nanoparticle zirconia, where the growth was much higher (5.5 times of the initial pore diameter). This difference was most probably caused by preferential sintering of agglomerates within the green bodies and by particle rearrangement processes which appears in the zero stage of sintering of nanoparticular ceramics. The technology of preparation of bulk dense ytria stabilized zirconia nanomaterial with high relative density of 99.6 % t.d. and average grain size 65nm was developed within the thesis research.

Presidency of the Council of the EU and energy security. Comparison of Austrian and Czech EU Presidency
Králík, Zbyněk ; Šlosarčík, Ivo (advisor) ; Binhack, Petr (referee)
The diploma thesis "Předsednictví Rady EU a energetická bezpečnost" (The presidency and the energy security) deals with factors relevant for the presidency of the EU. The current debate is highly focused on the size of the presiding country, which leaves very little space for an alternative explanation. The main task of this thesis is therefore to enrich the debate. The main method is comparing the two presidencies on the basis of the concept of energy security. The energy security was a relevant topic due to the context of the presidencies given by the interruptions in gas supply from Russia. Both countries differed in three relevant factors: the foreign orientation (relationship to Russia), the presidency style and the type of coordination mechanism. This diploma thesis tests the relevance of these factors on the presidency.

Resuscitation of the newborn and its subsequent treatment till the arrivel of the transport service
Tvrdíková, Barbora ; Stejskalová, Veronika (advisor) ; Marešová, Jana (referee) ; Vachková, Eva (referee)
A newborn with the disorder of early adaptation demands cardiopulmonary resuscitation. This is a very demanding and important medical output. The stabilization of physiological functions of the newborn after delivery and the subsequent transport into a specialized centre can critically influence the baby's prognosis. The goal of this work was to find out the readiness of infant departments for resuscitation, how they manage it and how they secure the newborn before the arrival of the transport service. The theoretical part of this work is dedicated to the process of cardiopulmonary resuscitation itself. In the first empirical part the questionnaires from the infant departments of the regional hospitals which belong to the perinatological centre of the University Hospital Hradec Kralove were analyzed. In the second empirical part the analysis of the data from the group of resuscitated newborns brought by the transport service between 2005 and 2007 was carried out. The aim of the empirical part was to compare the performance of resuscitation and the security of the newborn before the transport into a specialized centre. The comparison was based on the results of the questionnaires and the documentation of the transport service.

Efectiveness of action of State Fund for Housing Development in the Czech republic during the last decade
Ryšková, Kateřina ; Poláková, Olga (advisor) ; Vebrová, Ludmila (referee)
State interventions into the housing market have become a common tool for supporting housing standard and for securing households' access to housing. The general part of the paper deals with the housing policy transformation where, besides the executive power, an extra-budgetary fund SFHD (State Fund for Housing Development) was established as one of the instruments used by the government to intervene in the housing market. The paper aims to analyse the SFHD's effectiveness, not only in terms of Act No. 211/2000 Coll., by which it was set up, but also in terms of the Fund's activities and coordination of the state housing subsidies implemented through the Ministry for Regional Development of the Czech Republic, and of the overall effectiveness of the Fund's functioning setting.
