The causes of failure of small or medium enterprise

The thesis is focused on analyzing the causes of failures of small and medium enterprises. It is intended for everyone who thinks about establishing own company. It also shows the problems each entrepreneur will have to face one day. The theoretical part includes the definitions and characteristics of SMEs and highlights their importance in national economies. The practical part reflects primarily Slovak business environment and analyzes internal and external problems that businesses face through their existence. The data obtained from the qualitative research points to specific problems, which are currently the main barriers to the development of SME in Slovakia.
Change management for e-commerce IS

This thesis is an useful resource for small-sized and medium-sized companies struggling with the problem of out-dated information systems. Every rapidly-growing company will, sooner or later, reach a point where its information system no longer suits its requirements. In the thesis I analyze the case of a small outfit trying to expand to foreign markets, showing the uneven development of the individual parts of its information system. In this particular case, rapid partial changes in the functionality of the system were always preferred over a more systematic and thorough development. Eventually, the company found itself in a situation where it was no longer possible to further develop its system, and did not know what to do next. In accordance with the primary goal of improving the effectiveness of distribution processes, the thesis describes the project of unification of two different e-commerce solutions and their integration into other applications. In the second part, the thesis discusses the problem of choosing a suitable application that would bring all optimized distribution processes under one umbrella, describing various ways how to approach the problem.
The Barries to the Internacionalization of SMEs

The thesis focuses on the barriers to the internationalization of SMEs. The theoretical part consists of four chapters outlining the basic theoretical resources necessary for the practical part. The first part explains the nature of internationalization and globalization, the second defines SMEs in the Czech Republic and the European Union, the third section presents the most important and most common barriers to the internationalization of SMEs, the last fourth part provides an overview of the institutions involved in export promotion in the Czech Republic. The practical part of the thesis consists of an analysis sample of four companies that led to the determination of the largest and most common barriers to the internationalization of Czech SMEs.
Financial resources of small and medium enterprises, Sintex a. s.

The subject of my dissertation "Financial resources of small and medium enterprises" is the question of small and medium enterprises and their financial resources. I chose one textile factory for my analysis. There are supportive pragrammes mentioned in this part of my dissertation. The graduation thesis is devided to three parts. The first one is focused on definitions -- enterprise, enterpriser, legal form. In this chapter is definition of small and medium enterprises (SME) according to EU directive. We find there the advantages and disadvantages of SME, too. The second part attends to clasify financing posssibilities. We know own, external and alternative financial resources. In the last chapter of my dissertation we can find analysis of financial resources of particular textile factory Sintex, a. s.
Accounting for Small and Medium Enterprises

The main target of this thesis is to clarify some problems of accounting for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), where are some mistakes or questions around them in practise. The first part focuses on importance of SMEs generally. Other part consists of some selected topics as a depreciation and highlighted new legislation which is valid from January 2010, proforma invoices and the relation to VAT, intracommunity transfers and their places of delivery which is important for VAT charges. In labour law there is a caution about the difference between an allowance for meals and meal vouchers as a result of mistakes in travel expenses and connection to this meal voucher as an instrument of payment. There is also a notification of a new lease arrangements from January 2009. This big part is closed by outsourcing of accounting services and why these services are helpful. Very important is also next part which deals with a new International Financial Reporting Standard for SMEs which was issued by IASB in July 2009. In the conclusion of this thesis there are some practical examples of above-cited problems.
The Role of Italian Chambers of Commerce within Entrepreneurial Environment

This master thesis deals with the role of Italian Chambers of Commerce within international entrepreneurial environment. An overall analysis of Italian entrepreneurial environment is elaborated in terms of macroeconomic indicators and their last development, investment environment and characteristic features of Italian economy. The thesis analyses the system of Italian chambers of commerce in Italy and abroad, their function and role within nowadays society and everyday life of Italian businessmen and their business partners. It describes the history of Italian chambers of commerce, introduces Italian chambers of commerce under the rule of law no. 580/1993 and deals with their authorities, financing and staff. It characterises also the Union of Italian Chambers of Commerce (Unioncamere) and representation of Italian chambers of commerce within the European Union and it deals with the activity of the Association of Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad (Assocamerestero). On the concrete case of the Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce in Prague it describes the specifics of the activities of this chamber of commerce.

In its theoretical part, the thesis deals with general issues concerned with small and medium enterprises. It defines their relevance for a healthy economy but also explains both their advantages and disadvantages. The second half of the theoretical part describes what should be included in a proper business plan and its formal structure. While practical part contains a specific business plan for establishing and operating a Sports centre Kolibrik, located in a municipality of Nebušice, which would offer to its customers an indoor multifunctional ground, squash courts, table tennis and various exercise programs designed for children, adults or seniors.
European Commission programmes for the support of small and medium enterprises

Small and medium enterprises are very important for the european economy from the view of their quantity, creation of jobs and the added value.In the first part of my thesis I'm introducing the definition of the small and medium enterprises according to European Commission, their importance, strenghts and weaknesses. Another important issue is also the business environment in the Czech republic, which is the main attribute of the development of SME. The second part is about the main types of SME support of European Commission, like the finance and non-finance help, direct help and structural funds. In the third part I will present the impact of the current economic crisis on SME and the steps of European Commission and Czech government which are being taken to help SME. At last, I am introducing succesfull medium company named VARI, a.s. and external and internal factors which help the company to be successful on the Czech market.
Analyses of potential of Software as a Service model in small and medium enterprises

This paper analyses potential of Software as a Service (SaaS) model in small and medium enterprises (SME). SaaS model is rapidly expanding trend between software delivery models. The first chapter describes evolution of software delivery models, which peaks in the most recent "Software as a Service" model. It analyses key features of SaaS in qualitative, technological and legal dimensions. The first chapter also mentions assesment methods for IT investments. This chapter introduces basic theoretical framework for next chapters. Next chapter focuses on category of small and medium enterprises. It defines main macroeconomic indicators and organizational specifics of SMEs. This chapter also presents results of research into reasons for and against the use of applications with SaaS model in small and medium enterprises. Last chapter selects the most common software categories used by small and medium enterprises. For each category it analyses and describes current state of the SaaS market. After analysing the market situation, it selects broad range of applications for each category. Using multi-dimensional approach it recommends three products best suited for SMEs. For all categories it maps potential of the three recommended products. These three products are then thoroughly compared with each other using extended set of criteria. The chapter ends with a summary of possibilities offered by these applications to SMEs.
Factors of development of small and medium enterprises, regional differentiation.

A graduation thesis is focused on problems of small and medium enterprises and its development in the Czech Republic. The main goal of graduation thesis is to analyze the effect of carefully selected factors on SME. The thesis is dividend into two main parts. The first one characterizes small and medium enterprises and its contribution to economy, society and regions. The first part also describes differentiation of development of SME among the regions of Czech Republic. The second part is focused on features that determine SME. The data for the analysis are gained from the Statistical Office and questionnaire research. The results of analysis will be resumed in the end of graduation thesis.
