The theme of this bachelor thesis is design and production of the prototype brake pad for high bicycle with FDM 3D printer. The first part is devoted to the basic principle of Rapid Prototyping and FDM technology, materials used for 3D printing and a history of high bicycles. The second part is dedicated to design a 3D model in Autodesk Inventor Professional 2016, the manufacturing process of brake segments and eventually technological-economic evaluation.
Possibilities of using modern methods in manufacturing of prototype castings
Maincl, David ; Němec, Jiří (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
Rapid prototyping is a set of technologies , which is an essential part of modern foundry industry . It allows you to shorten the time between demand and fabrication of prototype parts. The aim of this work is to develop a literature search focused on the application of these technologies in the foundry manufacturing of prototype castings.
Construction and production the extension of bicycle pedal
Jurka, Adam ; Zouhar, Jan (referee) ; Jaroš, Aleš (advisor)
Bachelor thesis is focused on the construction and production of extension of bicycle pedal which will be used while cycling withnout cycling spikes. Component will be constructed in 3D parametrical software Autodesk Inventor. Model will be manufactured using Fused Deposition Modeling technology with utilization of 3D printer uPrint. One part of thesis is about manufacturing of silicon mould which will be used for casting of plastic model. Thesis is finished with technical-economic evaluation.
My 3D Printer
Mošner, Ladislav ; Klepárník, Petr (referee) ; Španěl, Michal (advisor)
This thesis deals with the topic of 3D printing. The primary aim was to build a real printer with a stiff construction minimizing clearance, which affects the accuracy and quality of printing. The design of the 3D printer and its parts was highly influenced by the RepRap project, especially by the Rostock printer using the delta kinematics and Fused Deposition Modeling. The printer electronics is based on the Arduino Mega 2560 platform running a modified Marlin firmware. It uses a newly designed extruder that should prevent a filament from melting in a guide tubule due to a large heatsink. The experiments carried out show that the accuracy of the printer is within +-0,1 mm.
Assembling and Functional Verification of a Home 3D Printer
Tesař, Jaroslav ; Zouhar, Jan (referee) ; Sedlák, Josef (advisor)
This thesis was created as a bachelor project in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at VUT in Brno. In the theoretical part, the additive technology Rapid Prototyping is introduced together with the most common methods, followed by the assessment of advantages and disadvantages of the new technology and its possible uses in various fields of human activity. In the experimental part of the diploma thesis was assembled and the printing parameters were set. Consequently the comparison models were printed on the 3D home printer and on professional printer Dimension uPrint. The accuracy of the printers is compared. The thesis concludes with the analysis of technical and economical parameters.
Production of interior car handle prototype on 3D FDM printer
Kaššák, Marek ; Dvořák, Jaromír (referee) ; Zemčík, Oskar (advisor)
This bachelor this processes the issue of manufacturing of a prototype of handle for the car interior using method fused deposition modeling method. First part of this is dedicated to a brief overwiev of prototype manufacturing using rapid prototyping technology , with FDM 3D printing and materials used by FDM method. Second part is dedicated to design of 3D model using AutoDesk Inventor 2014 software, prototype manufacturing itself, evaluating of construction technologicality and technological-economic evaluation of manufacturing costs.
Design of Stirling Engine Operating at Low Temperature Difference
Gavač, Adam ; Kolář, Ladislav (referee) ; Sedlák, Josef (advisor)
The aim of this study is to acquaint the reader with the Stirling engine, which is one of the possible alternatives to generally known combustion engine. The theoretical part has three major purposes: First is to describe thermodynamics of the Stirling cycle in the range that is essential for comprehension of the engine`s operating principle. Second is to mathematicaly derivate expression for the efficiency of the ideal Stirling cycle. Third is to discuss each of the essential parts of the device. Concepts acquired in the theoretical part were employed to design a digital model in the parametric modeler Autodesk Inventor. Parts were manufactured by a combination of typical and progressive technologies. Engine was assembled and tested afterwards.
Application of Fused Deposition Modelling Method to Production of Planetary Mechanism Model
Kudláčová, Barbora ; Kolář, Ladislav (referee) ; Sedlák, Josef (advisor)
This thesis aims to deal with designing and construction of the planetary mechanisms mod-el with using the technology of Rapid Prototyping. Virtual model was designed by para-metric program SolidWorks 2013 and produced by 3D printer called Dimension uPrint, which uses Fused Deposition Modeling for the production. The thesis also includes the description of the planetary mechanism especially from theoretical, practical and also construction knowledge. The thesis contains the description of Fused Deposition Modeling too. The model of planetary mechanism is using as an educational tool especially for students of BUT Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in the subject Kinematics.
Production of designed quadracopter using rapid prototyping
Melša, Jan ; Fiala, Zdeněk (referee) ; Zemčík, Oskar (advisor)
Design and manufacturing of a quadrocopter prototype using the Rapid Prototyping additive technology – the Fused Deposition Modeling method – is the goal of this Bachelor’s Thesis. The Thesis describes the process the prototype has to go through from the 3D computer model, through production settings down to the production itself. The individual prototype models have been created using the Creo Parametric software and they are adapted to the real components of a functional quadrocopter. The Thesis ends with a technical-economic assessment.
Design of shell orthopedic insole fabricated by 3D printing
Chaloupka, Matyáš ; Koutecký, Tomáš (referee) ; Paloušek, David (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design of shell orthopedic insole fabricated by 3D printing. The background research is focused on matters of pes planus and on the methods of Rapid Prototyping including most commonly used materials. The structural design is focused on designing a material pattern for this medical instrument and consequently modeling sandwich structure by combining two materials, plastic and softened plastic, which is then made using Rapid Prototyping on Fused Deposition Modeling 3D printer. Rhinoceros© was used for the purpose of making a shell orthopedic insole, especially it’s algorithmic editor tightly integrated with Rhino’s 3D modeling tools, Grasshopper®. Final part was made with sandwich structure by combining PLA plastic and Flex material using Rapid Prototyping.
