Decision Making Support Using Exact Software's Enterprise Information Systems
Pitka, Lukáš ; Pour, Jan (advisor) ; Šváb, Jiří (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with an information technology support of organization's decision making processes using Exact Software's enterprise information systems. The main goal of this paper is a demonstration of various Exact Software applications using real world examples from several Czech enterprises. Illustration of various benefits of integrated enterprise systems architecture is another goal of this paper. Possible benefits gained during the process of implementation of Exact Software's applications and necessary requirements that have to be fulfilled create the last goal. Risks and issues that can be encountered during the implementation process are mentioned along with benefits. To achieve these goals this diploma paper contains a lot of practical illustrations supplemented by theoretic explanation. Paper includes four parts. First part is an introduction into decision making processes in enterprises and provides a general overview of Exact Software's enterprise information systems portfolio. Another area covered by the first part is an overview of possible benefits of these systems in according to the level of organization management. Second part is dedicated to Exact Synergy Enterprise. At the beginning of this part there are outlined procedures, benefits and assumptions necessary for successful system implementation. The following text in part two contains many real world examples from the decision making point of view. Third part covers Business Intelligence application Exact Business Analytics from the standpoint of implementation guidelines, prerequisites and benefits. Subsequent subchapters contain practical examples of usage of this system. The last part is comprised from two case studies of Exact Software's systems implementation -- first one is a financial counseling company, second one is a company from the IS/ICT area. The paper as a whole represents unique material for companies that are looking for solutions on their decision making and analytical procedures problems. On the basis of this paper the reader can create an overview of current capabilities of enterprise information systems. A vast majority of presented solutions are system independent i.e. the usage of systems from Exact Software is only exemplary. Case studies of complex enterprise IS architectures in real world enterprises represents another great contribution to this diploma paper.

Mapping, processing, and representation of a map for Unreal Tournament bots
Gemrot, Jakub ; Brom, Cyril (advisor) ; Yaghob, Jakub (referee)
In many computer games the navigation points are used for the movement of computer-controled players. With the growing power of desktop computers more sophisticated methods are used for the movement of players, namely the method of NavMesh. NavMesh is a set of convex polygons continuously covering the reachable places inside the game by characters. This approach was used in the recently produced games Half-Life 2 and F.E.A.R. Those commercial products can't be used by the academy, therefore the chance to experiment with NavMesh doesn't exist. But there is a simple way to control the characters in environment of older game Unreal Tournament. This work is about the advantages of using NavMesh against older approach of navigation points. This work then presents the way how to automatically generate the NavMesh for the maps of Unreal Tournaments. NavMesh is created using the algorithm from computer graphics for the conversion from CSG representation of the map into boundary representation out of which the NavMesh can be generated. The work also contains a demonstration of usage of NavMesh for the movement of players in Unreal Tournament's maps.

HyperCuts pro filtrování Linuxových paketů
Mašíček, Viktor ; Peterka, Jiří (referee) ; Kučera, Luděk (advisor)
Filtering of packets by multidimensional cutting is one of the new approaches to the solution of the packet classiffication problem. It is based on creating a tree that contains the set rules of filtering. In this case a packets matching is considerably faster than linear traversing of all rules. The HyperCuts methods are one of the latest methods that use multidimensional cutting. At first sight the implementation of the HyperCuts method demonstrated its utility. However, the final decision about the usage of the HyperCuts program in practice can be made only on the basis of the results of testing in it is necessary to can be using in a practice it have to be tested in practical operation. In comparison with the PTree program, which is based on the TBF method, the HyperCuts program, was more successful. The comparison was based on resolving the problem rather than on implementation aspect or success with the same data. In case, where we use PTree source code for confrontation, we compare it with source code of HyperCuts from our implementation. We compare time and memory complexity. In the theoretic part there is explain why the "range match" was used. There is definition of term "cut" which is very advantageous for time and memory complexity. One of the goals of the work was HyperCuts method...

Designing a system for gaining and saving the knowledge from extensive text sources
Kružík, Martin ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor) ; Šedivá, Zuzana (referee)
A study deals with methods and techniques of deriving and keeping knowledge from extensive text sources as is described in chosen publications. It also concerns about possibilities of using mentioned methods in designing software application, which partially automatizes its usage and facilitates the whole human cognitive process and respects its patterns and limitations of given solution. A study also brings an user interface mock-up of an application and in the end also its software engineering design consisting of graphical and lingual description of data base, presentation and logical layer. Contribution of a study is, of couse, a design itself, for system of deriving and keeping knowledge from extensive text sources of this type is not present in the market at all.

Documentation for the system contains description of calibration scene, semiautomatical procedure of retrieving calibration data, synchronization and storing data from multiple devices available on a local network. Final reconstruction of marker's 3D coordinates uses standard translational format TRC.

Pathos as a Natural Aspect of Film Narration
Soukupová, Irena ; VAJCHR, Marek (advisor) ; MRAVCOVÁ, Marie (referee)
In my work I deal with a phenomenon that has been discussed widely but still remains elusive pathos. Pathos bears significances for current society that are not always positive. That is why I am going to try to define it, as well as categorize it. I am going to describe the usage and exploitation of pathos in cinema. I am also going to think of pathos criteria or what it determines - is it still pathos or so called sentiment? Unlike sentiment, pathos has its historical background. Based on particular films and scenes analysis, I will clearly demonstrate how to work with pathos. I will also show how to create pathos itself altogether with pathetically tuned scenes by means of particular devices of film language.
