Author rights protection organizations in the Czech Republic - their activities and presentation

This Master's thesis entitled Author rights protection organizations in the Czech Republic - their activities and presentation focuses on the area of copyright protection, especially in the field of musical work. The aim of the thesis is to provide a comprehensive overview of the current situation of collective societies operating in the Czech Republic and to compare them in selected areas of activity. The aim of the work is also to evaluate the practical functioning of the collective societies and explain some myths that are routed by the general public about the collective administration. The theoretical part of the thesis contains the definition of basic concepts, as the basis for other chapters dealing with specific collective societies, namely OSA, INTERGRAM and DILIA. This part of the thesis is based on annual reports analysis of these organizations, as well as personal interviews and written communication with these institutions' representatives. This master thesis is particularly helpful as a summary and evaluation of collective organizations' activities that are part of the culture and therefore have a significant impact on the level of Czech and other cultures.
Legal Protecion of Artistic Performance

The thesis outlines the law of performers' rights, including its historical and theoretical background, relation to other areas of law, explanation of moral and economic rights of performers, problems of contractual law and issues related to the enforcement of rights. The core of the thesis lies in analyses of the terminology of artistic performances (including the performances of variety and circus artists) and the notion of a performer, the borders between protected and unprotected performances and the relation to a work of art, as well as in practical issues related to the collectively delivered performances by the members of an ensemble and their representation by a so-called joint representative. The thesis focuses on those aspects which are specific to performers or which cause particular difficulties in practical application; in these cases, the author offers his own solutions.
Information and library services for students of art schools with a focus on dramatic and musical art in the Czech Republic

Diploma thesis " Information and library services for students of art schools with a focus on dramatic and musical art in the Czech Republic " aims to analyze the environment of libraries with a fund focused on music and theater, which serves students of art schools. This thesis also describes library and information services and the impact of copyright law to provide services in libraries with a fund containing score, audio and audiovisual media. The last section describes methodology of qualitative research and evaluates research by force field analyzing method and also analyzed findings and recommendations to address the identified facts.
Academic plagiarism in the dramaturgical perspective

Bachelor thesis "Academic plagiarism in dramaturgical perspective" deals with the representation of the problem of academic plagiarism in media on the case of Professor Ivo Budil. The first part of the thesis deals with theoretical concepts. There is mentioned the history of the view of author and authorship and normative view of the problem as a legislative, moral and ethic problem. The main idea is composed of the dramaturgical concept of Erving Goffman together with the labelling and stigmatic theory. The author view plagiarism as a social construction which is the result of successful enforcement of situational definition as plagiarism. Analytic part deals with the qualitative content analysis of fifty texts about the case of Prof. Ivo Budil. Presents the main participants who engaged in the case and reflect which instruments they used to enforce to label or not label Budil as plagiarist. It leads to the result that designation of the plagiarist is the result of dramaturgical performance of participants and labelling stigmatic label to plagiarist.

The impact of internet on the music industry in selected countries

This bachelor thesis deals with the impact of internet on the music industry. A very important comparison is made between the worsening situation in the Czech Republic and the improving one in Germany. A part of the bachelor thesis is an analysis based on a multinational questionnaire, where the major reasons for these states are found. As a result, several recommendations are being made. Also the present online music stores in the Czech Republic are being elaborated with a prediction of the most successful one and substantiation.
Copyright in the digital photos on the internet

The thesis is focused on copyright in the digital photos on the internet. The aim is to identify whether website owners act in accordance with copyright law, on the contrary infringers and to what extent the use and acquisition of photos, images and graphics on the Internet. The sociological research was used to achieve this goal. In conclusion of the thesis are results of the survey, their analysis and proposals of suggestions. The first part is an introduction to the theoretical elucidation of copyright and its relationship to digital photos published on the Internet. The organization dedicated to the protection of copyright and download sources of photos published on the internet is included. In the second part, based on previous theoretical knowledge, two research questions and six hypotheses were asked. The benefits of this thesis are recommendations for new and existing businesses on the internet and for bloggers that have emerged from the evaluation conducted sociological research.
Digital safety and security in the curriculum of primary and secondary schools

The bachelor thesis deals with teaching digital security issues with an emphasis on the content and range. The actual issue of digital security is extensive and therefore that range of information was defined on selected teaching areas of backup datas using software security features, safe behaviour on the internet including the management of passwords and security issues of copyright law. The theoretical part of Bachelor thesis is based on the analysis of educational programmes of selected schools. The Bachelor thesis also includes an analysis of curricular documents due to the issues and processes necessary range of information and data dedicated to selected area of digital security. The main aim of Bachelor thesis is the comparison of selected educational programmes where focus will be on finding significant differences in the described digital-security issues. Everything will be verified and implemented by interviews with students and teachers of the selected school. Acquired data and information from students along with school and framework educational programmes will generate set of information representing the current state of teaching digital security and the differences between high school, grammar school and elementary schools.
